We booked an appointment for our child entered all his details online including DOB.
We travelled two hours to visit a specialist had booking confirmations and emails. Only to arrive to for them to say “we don’t see children our booking system doesn’t tell us if it’s a child that’s booked. We aren’t insured we can’t help”
Clearly a company with poor practices with people’s data.

We sincerely regret the experience you had in attending an appointment that did not go as you had hoped. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We have reviewed your case in detail and have identified an error in our system which incorrectly flagged the doctor under 'Paediatrics' in your secondary procedures. This has now been corrected.
However, we would like to clarify that the doctor is listed as a dermatologist, not a paediatric dermatologist. The first page of the booking process also states that she does not see patients under the age of 18. There is also a pop-up message during the booking process stating that online appointments cannot be accepted for patients under this age.
While these measures are designed to prevent situations like the one you describe, unfortunately they did not work as well as they should have on this occasion. We are committed to making further improvements to ensure that similar cases do not happen again.

Don’t trust any of the availability on…
Don’t trust any of the availability on this website. I booked two different doctors on this website based on availability, one came back with appointment confirmation which they then called the following day to say that the doctor isn’t actually available on any of the dates listed despite the appointment being confirmed. I also booked another doctor based on the availability on here and got a call around a week after the request saying that the availability online isn’t accurate and that the doctor wouldn’t be free then anyway.
This Is not only annoying and dishonest but if you are seeking being seen soon this wastes a lot of time and means that now I won’t be seen in time for my three week trip so has left me in a worse position when I would have had time to find an alternative had this not have ruined that.
It seems these doctors just post fake availability on here to get you interested and then subsequently cancel or say that it isn’t real.

Couldn't book online - errors on website
Website has errors for online booking - eg, it didn't list my GP practice, and I couldn't make a booking because I couldn't populate this field. Then I purposely chose an incorrect GP surgery to get to the next page, and the website asked me to enter the security code it had "sent" me on SMS - however, I never received such a code, and even after multiply attempts to get them to resend me an SMS, the code never arrived. Then I rang the help number (*****330) and the voice message stated this number is NOT for making bookings. There was another number (*******999) which I rang multiple times and no one ever answered. I gave up.
The best way to use Top Doctors is to find the doctor you like on this website, and then google that doctors name and ring the hospital/practice directly rather than book through Top Doctors.
Edit: On 13-Dec-2024, TopDoctors replied (see below) to this review with "We’ve tried to contact you to address your concerns, but unfortunately, we haven’t been able to reach you.". How on earth can they possibly try to contact me when they do not have my email, or telephone number? This is the level of incompetence this company operates on.

Dr Eleojo Achimugu is a very personable, kind and knowledgeable surgeon. Her intelligence, compassion and humanity make her holistic in her approach.
She is assisting me in my hair regrowth with additional research and adivice. I am seeing results since my initial visit with her in July.
Her secretary (Betty), is extremely professional, kind and efficient in her role.
Consultations with professionals of such calibre gives me hope and eases the trauma of hair loss.

Booked an appointment, went and top doctors hadn’t booked it! Avoid!
Booked an appointment - got a msg that doctor had proposed another time. Accepted that. Got a reminder. Went to the clinic today- taking time off work, travelling an hour and having to take my 5year old daughter with me to central London in rush hour - only for the clinic to say they had no record of my appointment and that the doctor was not around that day. They had called everyone to cancel and didn’t have my appointment or details. Clinic said to always book with them directly and confirm. Rubbish service and waste of time. AVOID and book directly!

I went to the pines hospital manchester for a MINI BYPASS my surgeon was mr qutayba almerie he did fantastic my surgery went very well he came checked on got me up for a little walk good weight loss surgery to choose.

Like a previous user in November, the on line booking system is a waste of time. The dates listed were not available as I called the hospital direct and booked... very simple. I am sure Top Doctors will mention an excuse in their reply. Will not use this company again. Find a consultant and book direct.

Amazing surgeon!
I had a gastric bypass in 2021 with dr Bilal Alkafaff. He was absolutely amazing so reassuring as Covid was still around I had to go alone but the staff & mr alkafaff were unreal. He saved my life performing this surgery & the aftercare was unreal. 2 of my friends have also had surgery with him after my recommendation they had the sleeve as that is what was best for them & both of them feel the same as me & have a new lease of life. The care is unreal a few days of being home after my op I started having bad pain & was struggling to breath they got me straight in did a CT scan to check I was ok. It turned out my diaphram was swollen which is rare but can happen. Not the surgeons fault but they looked after me & kept me in with no further charge even though I had paid private. I can not recommend this surgeon & hospital enough. Absolutely amazing from start to finish. By the way I went from 16st to 8st 😊 I had my surgery June 2021 but have to say it was within 12 months for trustpilot! X

Topdoctors does not communicate with the clinics on appointments
My friend booked an appointment with an Orthopedic surgeon at Syon Clinic, Brentford, using topdoctors.co.uk website. When she turned up at Syon Clinic at the appointed time, they had no record of her appointment and she was turned away even though that particular doctor was in attendance when she turned up. She was hugely disappointed as she had taken a day off to attend the clinic and she suffers from debilitating pain. Clearly topdoctors does not communicate with the clinics themselves resulting in this mess. We are unlikely to use topdoctors again for making private doctor appointments.

I immediately got an acknowledgement but stating not to go to the appointment until the consultant had approved date and time. The next morning Annan called and texted me asking if I had heard back from the consultant. I tried booking three different appointments using their on line system only to be told that none of the appointments I booked were available. To save time just call direct to book an appointment as the on line booking system is not up to date and very unreliable.
