Dr Redfern Second to None
I had a hallux rigidus operation on my big toe. Dr Redfern is a consummate professional, My toe has healed extremely well and the scar is almost disappeared. I would highly recommend Dr Redfern to everyone I know.

Totally incompetent.
I have just had the most incompetent so called adviser? booking clerk call me from Top Doctor.
No top doctor would ever instruct them in my humble opinion.
I am only a patient who has had private health insurance since 1964 when I was 7 years old.
I was offered an urgent second opinion in 4 weeks time.,by A I website?
This was cancelled 30 minutes later.
By ringing myself directly the wonderful New Victoria Hospital speaking to an old school very efficient PA secured an appointment in 5 days.
I have just taken the call from so called top doctors asking why I had cancelled my computer booked appointment for March.
I already have very serious Cardiac issues ,pacemaker,mitral valve.
Thus call just resulted in my blood pressure jumping from 90/70 at 7 am this morning to 201/130.
Thanks a bunch top doctor.

Poor experience from Dr Andrew Peter Holt
UPDATE 8/2/2024 - Topdoctors left me an answerphone message about this issue but now they are trying to get the review removed.
First time using the site. Booked a private messaging service with Doctor Andrew Peter Holt. It took a week for him to respond, which I get he may have been away, my issue was I paid £50 for 11 minutes and a reply to my message. Obviously he wants me to see him privately for £300 and I got that information but before I could reply to him he finalised the chat so I didn’t get the help I wanted and he got £50 for doing barely anything. He didn’t even ask if that was all I needed. Nowhere in the T&C’s when I signed up did it say it would be a limited interaction that the Dr can finalise when they want. I spoke to the customer services and just got “I don’t know what you want us to do” so no help at all.

Mr Matthew James is a fabulous surgeon. He has now worked on me 3 times and the results are simply life changing. His workmanship is superb. His consultations are great. He explains everything fully and doesn’t leave any questions unanswered. He is very approachable and is available to text after surgery for any issues or questions, even over holiday times like Christmas and Easter. I’ve never felt so relaxed with a doctor. Negative experience with Dr. Dipesh Mistry and review process

Even though the consultant is not able to see the review before it is published, they can tell whether a patient is likely to leave a negative review based on how the consultation went, whether the patient decides to continue treatment, the outcome of treatment, etc. They are therefore able to pick and choose the patients whose reviews they want to be published, as evidenced by the fact that Dr. Mistry and his secretary have continued to ignore my repeated requests to confirm my review. *
Do not trust reviews on this site - there is a major bias toward positive ratings. The system works so that although the consultants are unable to see the contents of the reviews, each review must be confirmed by the doctor as coming from a patient of theirs in order to be published. Based on how the consultation went and whether the patient decides to continue on, the consultant is likely able to get a sense of whether the review would be positive or not, and can thus pick and choose the patients whose reviews they confirm, while leaving others on hold indefinitely.
Last October, I had a very poor experience on a video consultation with sleep psychiatrist Dr. Dipesh Mistry. I subsequently left a review on Top Doctors, and have chased up several times with Dr. Mistry's secretary to have my review confirmed, but continue to receive no answer. I presume this is because the doctor knows my review would be negative based on how the consultation went, along with the fact I decided not to proceed with further treatment.
This is completely unfair - many of these consultants charge exorbitant prices, and patients should be able to have all feedback available to them in order to make an informed decision.

The booking system for Top Doctors is very misleading. It gives the impression that they have access to the diaries of the doctors/consultants when in fact they don't.
I had booked an appointment for an employee which gave some level of optimism, however this was dashed.
Very disappointed.

Private surgery that exceeded my expectations…
Good service with great information and excellent care throughout with professional, very kind staff. Good quality hospital, great environment, the surgeon gave me confidence about the outcomes of my surgery. He explained the procedures and treatment well. The consultations took place at Stourside Hospital and the operation performed by Mr Ricardo Camprodon was at West Midlands Hospital. He was kind, reassuring and very good at every stage of the treatment. He deserves his great reputation.

This company in their advertising
This company in their advertising, can apparently provide a Doctor who can 'cure' an illness that no one else can cure.
There is a medical article on Polymyalgia written by Dr Vijay Hajela, and edited by Karolyn Judge.
At the end of the introductory paragraph it states, quote, 'Thankfully there is a cure'.
There is no 'cure' for Polymyalgia. Steroids alleviate the symptoms but do not cure the illness.
It is misrepresentation of the facts.

I am very surprised that the Doctor in question did not approve the article before publishing. That would have been duty of care.

Duty of care is a pre-requisite for Doctors registration, perhaps the company should adopt the same principles.

Clarity , support , and care
I have recently been in the Nuffield Barts under Dr Elliot Smith for an arthroplasty one artery being completely obstructed. All was clearly explained to me prior to the procedure I was amazed that although no anaesthetic but deep sedation I felt no pain or discomfort during a long procedure. At all times I felt reassured by him and would highly recommend him if this procedure is required thankyou Dr Smith.
