Easy to buy from. Surprisingly difficult to return.

Now that the situation has finally been resolved and the refund has been issued, I wanted to share my full experience.

What should have been a straightforward return turned into a process that lasted from February 18th until mid-March: nearly a month.

I purchased two bags and decided to return them as they did not suit me. The items were not defective.

From the beginning, the return process was unnecessarily complicated. I was first directed to the company's return portal, which did not work and displayed the message: "No shippers have been found. Please contact customer support." After following those instructions, customer support confirmed that the portal was experiencing technical issues. The only alternative offered was a manual return via a PDF form — a document that later became inaccessible and had to be requested again, causing further delays.

At no point was the return address clearly provided in email communication; it was only available within that PDF.

Once I was finally able to arrange the shipment myself via UPS (at my own expense, which I fully accepted as part of their policy), the delivery could not be completed because the business was closed at the time of the attempt (10:18 AM). I then had to follow up again to ensure someone would be available for the next attempt. I was also asked to monitor the shipment and notify the company once it was delivered before the refund could be processed — an additional burden placed on the customer.

To be clear: the issue was never the return shipping cost. That was clearly stated in their policy and was not a problem. The issue was the lack of a functional, accessible and reliable return system.

The entire process depended on manual intervention: repeated follow-ups, requesting documentation, arranging the shipment independently, tracking delivery, and confirming receipt. For an online brand, this level of friction is simply not acceptable for what should be a standard return.

Customer service was always polite and professional, but the experience highlights significant weaknesses on the operational side. The refund was ultimately processed, which I appreciate — though it only happened after considerable back-and-forth that a properly functioning system would have prevented.

If you are confident you will keep the product, the purchase experience is smooth. If you need to return it, be prepared for a process that is far more complex and time-consuming than it should be.

Defect

I received a bag which turned out to have a small defect (a button fell out prior to use). I therefore wrote a mail to TØTE's customer support which very quickly (the same day) and kindly answered me with a replacement bag. My compliments to your customer service and I would definately shop here again!

Ever since I received my TØTE bag

Ever since I received my TØTE bag, I’ve been using it practically every day. It’s such a wonderful, spacious bag where you can easily fit everything you need. Very glad with my new bag!

I recently purchased a tote bag and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality. The materials feel very durable and well-made, and you can immediately tell it’s built to last. The bag is also incredibly spacious, which makes it perfect for everyday use—whether I’m going to work, traveling, or just carrying my daily essentials. I especially love the different compartments and storage options inside the bag. They make it very easy to stay organized and quickly find what I need.

Excellent customer service!

I had a great experience with this company. After I reported an issue with my bag, they handled my complaint incredibly quickly and professionally. They responded within just a few hours and resolved everything within a day, which I truly appreciated.

They immediately arranged to send me a replacement, and on top of that, they even gave me a €10 gift card as a gesture of goodwill.

I am leaving this 5-star review for the amazing efforts from Angelica (customer service).

unfortunately had the bag breaking down on me after two months due to one of the teeth in the zipper breaking after regular use with proper care.
I reached out to customer service asking if there was still anything they could do for me.

Angelica took it upon herself to fix the issue for me. Even following-up on me up to 3 times because i was very busy and kept on forgetting about my contact with customer service.

after providing her with proof of the state of the bag she promptly notified me that a new bag was on the way.

I am extremely happy with the way the issue was dealt with and the manner in which was communicated with me.

I’m very satisfied with my overall experience. Unfortunately, my bag arrived with a defect, but the company handled the situation professionally and without hesitation.

Amazing customer service

I bought the SIV bag and it fits sooo much stuff! It’s very lightweight and easy to fold small. The pockets are great and I use it every single day. Last week I experimented some problems with the bag unfortunately. But I got in contact with TØTE and within 24 hours they got back to me and quickly came up with a solution. Long delivery time

I placed an order on February 10 and still have not received my bag, two weeks later. I have sent two emails to customer service and have not received any response.

It is very disappointing to experience such a lack of communication and support. After waiting for a considerable amount of time, I expected at least an update regarding my order.

After seeing this review they send me an email en I got my bag.

ALTA brown | Good service, great bag

I bought the ALTA bag in brown after I saw some ads on social media and loved the look and how it could replace all my awkward totebags that don't really fit my stuff. Shipment was really fast, but when I received it there was a small manufacturing defect with the shoulder strap. After messaging customer service, they quickly solved this! So really happy with the service and now also with my bag!

I have bought the "alta" black model, which i was already enjoying from the beginning. It unfortunately needed to be replaced quite soon as the product was defective, but the customer support was very polite and understanding and offered to send a replacement.
