Toyota Financial Service Terrible

Toyota Financial Service charges higher than usual fees and interest rate. I suggest using a local bank or credit union. I have financed 3 vehicles with them and have owned 4 Toyota trucks. I have good credit and a perfect payment record on my current vehicle to date. Toyota sells to American but never the less, they offshore their services and fail to employ American inside the U.S. to serve the needs of United States residents for all their services. In the past, I have had to deal with them when I was unemployed and had a good relationship with them. Despite having a perfect payment record currently, I find the online and telephone customer services to be differcult to use and fustrating for a older person. Their customer service persons can be hard to understand and down right rude, sometimes. Toyota, generally makes a good vehile at a fair price. Their dealers are sometimes unethical, I have found in the past. I again, suggest dealing with a local bank or credit union that you do business with regularly to to finance your major purchase. If you need to speak to a person, you can go right to the branch and see them face to face. You will be treated better as a person and get a better rate!

Customers Services poor communications

Customers Services appear lapse when you send an email direct to them, even when you use the online message service there is no actual reply. Traded my Toyota for another one, they still took a payment on the old agreement when it had already been settled. I eventually got my money back.

Threatening my credit profile due to their own incompetence

I traded my CHR back to Toyota and picked up a new Aygo - some six weeks ago. TFS tried to take a further payment 3 weeks later and when I stopped it sent me a threatening letter seeking payment of the instalment and saying my credit profile could be damaged. I wrote back explaining and also wrote to the dealer in MK (who says they have passed on the paperwork). TFS have now said they will amend my credit profile once the dealer has passed the trade in payment on to them! This is between two Toyota offices and nothing to do with me, Dreadful!!

Have won with the ombudsman after non functional vehicle has sat on my drive for 18months and still tfs have not bothered to respond to myself or the ombudsman.
Next thing is to pursue court action with an N322A form which enforces the ombudsman decision in court allowing bailiff intervention.

I have had two financial agreements…

I have had two financial agreements with this company over the past four years. Two running at the same time. Both have been settled early.

I recently raised a complaint when they then refused to finance another car. I had nio response to the email, I then over the course of a few days, sent my complaint to two further different email addresses for Toyota Financial Services. I still have not even had an acknowledgment from them for any of the three emails.

You would of thought, that having lined their pockets with business for the last four years, on two not one contracts, that they would have the decency to respond to a complaint, and at least offer some sort of excuse why they do not want to finance a new car now for me.

very, very disappointed at the total lack of response/communication.

I had to make 4 different calls to them…

I had to make 4 different calls to them this afternoon to get connected with a representative. Almost impossible to get away from the bot to get a person. I wanted to get a payoff letter from TFS so my bank can send them the pay off balance of my loan. Why I could not do this online through my TFS account is a mystery to me. The rep told me it would take 3 days to e mail the payoff info to my banker and that they had to mail me an authorization letter to sign and give to my bank. They could not e mail me the form only mail it and it would take 7 to 10 days. After signing it I could e mail it to my banker as it had to go along with the bank's payoff. It all appears to me to be Toyota's plan to get as much interest as they can before I can payoff the balance. Unbelievable that TFS does not have a better IT set up as all of this should be able to be done on line.

Lies or incompetence!

This company has lied a number of times about resolving an issue. Full amount of finance paid, yet they have not removed my HPI marker which means I cannot proceed to start my new contract with my new car. Was told that they couldn’t the first time due to Experian being down, second time they said they would look into it and finally the third time, they said it would be resolved within 24-48 hours ago. 2 weeks later finance is being shown on my vehicle. Been on hold for near 30 minutes, absolutely disgraceful way to run a company!

I’m suing these people for what their…

I’m suing these people for what their putting my son through with their stupid so-called GAP insurance. I spoke with an attorney today about it. He informed me that in the height of Covid when all these financial institutions were so “so called” gracious in letting people defer payments to so-call help them in their time of need they neglect to tell the customer the fine print on what might happen on the back end of things! My son had a 2021 Toyota Supra his dream car that he got in a wreck and they totaled it out. He had GAP insurance. Now 5 months later Toyota financial sends him a letter saying he owes them $990 for a deferred payment he didn’t even ask for. They offered to do it for him. NOT telling him if something happened to his car that GAP wouldn’t cover any deferred payments!! He’s trying to buy another car now but can’t because he has this hanging over him! Toyota can either wipe this clean off his account with them or buy him another car free and clear by the time my lawyer is done with them!! Shame on you Toyota financial GAP for doing these kids this way especially during a time when we’re the most vulnerable!! 🤬🤬☹️🤨🤨

Toyota Financial doesn't release titles

If you ask the rep at Toyota financial, they will tell you that it is their policy to release titles after a lien is paid off. Our family has owned a lot of Toyotas and I can say that has never happened once. You have to contact Toyota Financial and that is process is always awful. You can have them call you back rather than wait on hold but what I got out of that was a call from the company robot with no one on the other end, just silence. You can call back and stay on hold and listen to an awful twangy bit of country pop that repeats several times a minute and will burn itself into your brain. Finally talk to a human and he will tell you whatever he feels is right, you follow the steps and wait for the doc to arrive and after several weeks you call back and after ten minutes of more of that awful song designed to make you hang up, you get informed that you were misinformed and you need to fax different docs, which no one felt any obligation to inform you of until you personally go through the aggravation of calling back. Even worse, they insist of having the docs arrive by fax. Anyone still have a working fax machine? It will cost me about $40 to fax the docs that they didn't know they wanted until they rejected what they first asked for. My case was closed until I called back. What do we make of a company that markets itself for its advanced tech and hasn't figured out email by 2022? We've had to deal with this four times in the last 3 years. It's enough to make me think twice about ever signing up for this treatment by buying Toyota ever again.

Due to covid 19 pandemic my work hours…

Due to covid 19 pandemic my work hours were cut as well as my fiancé loosing her job and the arrival of our newborn son has gotten really tight. Toyota deferred a few payments and things slowly went back to normal and I have never been late or missed a payment since. I asked again for the same courtesy after the truck had grave mechanical issues just hitting the 100k mark. Now with the covid resurgence and no longer being paid for the days we miss, money has got tight. I was denied, I have spoken with multiple friends in the same predicament and have been given courtesy by other lenders. I feel Toyota does not stand by it’s products and does not care about its customers, only the paycheck. My families Christmas was shot this year and just trying to pay my bills is getting tough. My company a large commercial mechanical contractor in NJ will discontinue use of Toyota Tundra vehicles and be going with Ford now. I am a combat veteran and hard working American and this will be my last Toyota vehicle. I just want others to know about Toyota financials incompassion and warn you before you spend 60k on their product like I did.
