Nice large apt

The apartment is large and the two bedrooms with king size beds are nice, however the common seating area is smallish and the seating not all that comfortable (no couch). Otherwise it has what a traveler needs for a stay of up to a week kitchen wise. It is on a pretty busy street so there is some noise, and if you are sensitive to that you might look elsewhere. I slept fine.

The cabin was perfect in every way

The cabin was perfect in every way , very clean and very comfortable, the location was also perfect with a lovely enclosed garden for our granddaughter and dog to play in.
There is a huge field a few steps away from the cabin which is great for walking around with the dog , we will 100% be booking again 😀

AWFUL. AVOID

We had a terrible experience with this rental and Travelnest have washed their hands of all responsibility too.

We arrived at this apartment and it was freezing cold like it hadn't been occupied for months. And the smell was horrendous. At 1 point my husband opened the fridge to see if that's where the smell was coming from and the smell that came out of the fridge was ghastly you could smell it from rooms away even after the door had been closed.

We decided that we couldn't stay in the apartment (our children were by this point crying as it was so cold inside)

We contacted the host to ask about the heating as there where no instructions left anywhere to tell you how to use this. They did eventually get back to us and tell us that they would be round to sort things out but we never saw them, we managed to source a hotel about 15 minutes away and went there instead at great expense.

We informed the host that we would were leaving and got no response from them.

When I tried to complain to Travelnest they told me that the issue of a refund was up to the host who of course denied this as apparently us putting the heating on was a "fire risk" just what you want to hear when your children were supposed to be staying there for 2 nights in Scottish winter.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Not a good experience

Not a good experience.
Had to wait outside in the storm for 20 mins waiting for a key.
No sheets for the sofa bed and it didn’t look very clean.
No bolt on the front door so didn’t feel safe as anyone could have a key.
And no towels at all, even though it advertised that it had towels. So we couldn’t have showers or even dry our hands after a long journey. No response when texting and calling asking for towels. In the end we had to go out and buy our own.
Not a good experience.

Poorly managed

The place was not overly clean, there was a lot of damage, no forks in the cutlery drawer, bedding was dirty and smelly. Then in the middle of the night another guest tried to access the building. It had been let twice on the same day. I have tried to communicate with the people since so as not to leave a negative review but they have not replied-just keep asking for reviews. Very disappointing.

Disappointing bathroom wasn’t working shower screen falling off idyllic retreats refusing to take any responsibility…

The property advertises a working shower and bath. This was not the case and when we highlighted this together with a shower screen that nearly fell off its hinge onto my pregnant daughter and grandson the host denied all knowledge of there being anything wrong with the bathroom at all I wouldn’t touch this property for safety issues and an irresponsible host.

We stayed in the whole apartment with a group of twelve, and it couldn’t have been better. The place was spacious, clean, and very well set up for a large group. There was plenty of room for everyone, comfortable beds, and a great layout that made it easy for us to relax together without feeling cramped.

Really friendly staff

Really friendly staff. Great location. Comfortable room. Good communication. I didn’t arrive until late so tea, coffee and milk sachets would have been nice. I also couldn’t work the TV

It was dirty and needs a deep clean

It was dirty and needs a deep clean. I did not feel clean staying there. Carpets were stained kitchen tap dripping. Tables need a good clean. Food in tv remote. Not a pleasent stay

Really cosy and comfy and clean ❤️

The caravan lives up to its name, comfy and cosy. Add to these immaculately clean and with a superb view and delightful dog walks from the door and you will understand why I recommend this holiday home most highly. Will certainly be hoping it’s free next time we visit the Border country. Perfectly placed for touring this beautiful part of Scotland, on a site that offers shop, restaurant, bar, children’s play area and excellent golf course and shop.

A terrifying experience. Stay away if you can

I rented an apartment in Edinburgh's Old Town in November. The initial communication was good, and accessing the apartment was easy. Unfortunately, the problems arose afterwards. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the sinks did not have hot water. We immediately contacted the property, and they promised a technician would come the following day. No one showed up the next day, and the property did not respond to our messages; they only wrote back the evening after that, apologizing and stating that no one would be able to come.

The same evening, the internet stopped working, which we also reported, but it was not fixed. Keep in mind that there is poor cell reception in the house, so we could not even use our phones as a hotspot.

Furthermore, I must report a broken sofa and wardrobe doors that detached, posing a serious risk of falling on someone. The apartment was also not particularly clean; quite the opposite.

Upon returning to Italy, I opened a dispute with Booking, and the most I obtained was a €50 refund out of a total cost of €611. This was a great disappointment with Booking as well, which did very little to remedy the situation. Our 4-day stay was entirely without hot water and 2 days without internet, all met with complete disinterest, first from the property and then from Booking. I encourage you to make your own assessment."
