I flew Business Class from Milan…
I flew Business Class from Milan Malpensa to Guangzhou on flights TK1876 and TK072 on September 3, 2024, and it was a disappointing experience in many aspects. The seats were broken, dirty, and the cabin crew was rude and unhelpful. For a business class service, one would expect much more.
The worst part came with the delay in the delivery of my baggage, which was returned to me only three days later (on September 6th at 7:00 AM). During those three days of waiting, I had to buy clothes, toiletries (including shaving products and perfumes), and everything I needed to attend important formal meetings during a business trip.
After submitting all the receipts to Turkish Airlines, they offered me a meager sum of 225 USD—the equivalent of 75 USD per day to cover all expenses, a ridiculous amount for someone forced to deal with such inconveniences during a business trip. On top of that, the offered amount is before taxes, which are not even clearly specified, making the situation even more frustrating. To make matters worse, the reimbursement is not handled by Turkish Airlines directly, but by their insurance company, which is probably in worse shape than Turkish itself, given that they don’t even seem to have the funds to properly maintain their planes. Truly ridiculous.
Unfortunately, this is an experience I do not recommend, especially for those flying business class expecting a level of service appropriate to the price of the ticket.

Be aware of Turkish Airlines Business Class !!! You may NOT get what you pay for !!!
If you pay for a business class ticket you never know what product you get. This is fraud as you have no chance to determine BEFORE booking/paying. There is :
a) short and medium haul manual outdated business seats on Boeing 737 and A321 family. But at least a 2-2. config.
b) fake business seats like with other european fraud airlines like Lufthansa where you sit on economy seats labeled as "Business Class" 3-3 Eco config. on A320, A319 and maybe also some B737-800 (?)
c) various outdated Business configurations on A330-200. Not at all an actual business product with limited recline and many faulty functions
d) very old high density business class with outdated manual seats with very limited recline on all Airbus A330-300 with registration TC-LO... (LO... like low standard low quality low product...)
e) older but fully electric flat recline business class seats on all other A330-300 (not TC-LO... regs.) as well as Boeing 777 which may be considered actual standard
f) latest business class which meets industry standards as of now in the latest aircraft like Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
As a matter of fact the ticket fares are always the same. No matter which aircraft you will find yourself in when flying. So what you really get for your money may (will certainly) vary significantly from the high glossy pictures on Turkish Airlines websites.
If you dont mind ok. But if you expect an actual updated Business Class product you may find it absolutely annoying that you will sit on totally outdated seats.
Beside this the so called "Business Lounge" in Istanbul needs an urgent refurbishment ! It is much too small either for all the people who gather there. Whe you enter it you will have generally problems to find empty seats escpecially during rush hours. If you find one it will normally not being cleaned up unless you tell anyone to do so. Annoying.
Turkish made its way up to a global player. But as they tend to show the same arrogance and stupidity as other western airlines they will become secondary and will go down again.

The worst customer service in the industry. Incompetent, unhelpful and only has lies and false promises to offer. Their answers are generic, stereotyped and completely irrelevant. Horrendous experience. I am hiring a lawyer to kick their dirty asses. Never ever again!

It's been 21 days since my suitcase with my gold necklace and personal belongings was lost but still no one called to report it. Good luck Turkish Airlines. My baby hasn't been able to get his medicine for 21 days because of the damn Turkish Airlines. Every time I call you say the search is ongoing but there is no progress. Please don't stall me I'll drag you to court!!!

They scam customers without shame and without restraint. They sell tickets with Flex fare and then do not allow refunds illegally.
Customer support is useless, they are the most bored and unwilling people to help.

2024 was delayed for 47 minutes due to late arrival of previous aircraft and 1 hour 48 minutes due to weather conditions, as a result you've missed your onward flight and completed your journey with next available flight.
Referring to your message, we'd like to kindly inform you that passengers are entitled with compensation in case of delays with operational or technical reasons under airline control in line with international civil aviation rules and procedures. Since the irregularity that took place on your flight was caused by the reasons beyond our control, we have to inform you that we cannot pay the compensation you claim.
Regarding your expense claims that occured at Istanbul, our compensation and reimbursement transactions are being held within the accordance of the Civil Aviation Passenger Rights Regulations. In regards, the expenses incurred due to the flight irregularity required to be submitted with the subjected invoices. In this aspect, if you provide us with the expense bills that are issued by the establishments the expenses are made at, with the place, date, contents and the total amount of the expense visible on the receipt, we will certainly reevaluate.
Beside, reservation expenses and expenses that incurred after the arrival of your flight to your final destination can not be covered by our airline company. AVOID if you want a stress free flight
We booked return tickets from LHR to IST via a package deal with Expedia. Paid extra for checked in luggage and seat selection. Seats for both legs of the journey were booked 3 weeks in advance.
Outbound flight was smooth, no issues.
Return flight - OMG! App wouldn’t let us check in online. Got to check in 3 hours before flight and was told we were on standby tickets! Showed evidence of tickets and seat selection but they weren’t having any of it. Lady on check in couldn’t be any less helpful if she tried. All she kept saying was the airline had oversold tickets and it’s tough luck!
Got sent to ticket services who said same thing and just get to gate and speak to them.
At the gate we were again told that it didn’t make any difference that we had selected our seats- apparently that is just a selection and not confirmation. Their app wouldn’t allow me to check in online and being at check in desk 3 years before flight was not good enough!
In the end my wife and I did manage to get in the flight- they had to pay a few people EUR400 bribe for them to give up their tickets. It wasn’t just us- their were 7 other people in exactly the same situation on this flight,
Although we did get in the flight the stress and headache involved made was unbelievable. They made us quickly forget the wonderful time we had in Turkey.

OMG. Absolutely disorganized and incompetent.
Arranged and paid for a Feb 2021 return flight to Bali through Expedia.
Had to cancel my trip due to Covid restrictions, although I had a travel waiver insurance Expedia and Turkish Airlines denied repeatedly to return my ticket money.
After more than a year of back and forth and essentially threatening legal action, THY issued a travel voucher for 877 EUR on Feb 2022, stating that
The tickets to be purchased with traveler’s cheque can be issued through our sales offices, call center or web page.
However, tried to use that with their web site on Sep 2023, no way.
No solution or reason for this was offered other than reissuing the voucher with supposedly the same channels to use it and was told that I could use their call center next time.
Tried to use that today Sep 5 2024, no way to use through their web site. Tried their call center, spoke with at least 4 different people. OMG is the only suitable expression.
The first person was not even familiar with their ticketing system, searched for 20 minutes to find a flight that was found in 10 seconds using their web site and gave me a price of 906 EUR, instead of the 860 in their web site. Asked why I cannot use my voucher, why the price is different had no clue at all.
Asked her name to file a complaint, silence.
Another call, 2nd person, was mixing up constantly my voucher numbers, even mentioned that my voucher value was 500 EUR!!! Line was cut after a few minutes.
3rd call, 3rd person was the best, gave her the voucher number and was checking for a ticket of the same number! Did not know what a voucher is, had to spell it for her. Had to repeat the voucher number twice, was totally incompetent. Passed me to another person, at least he knew what a voucher is, lost 20 minutes, spelling the voucher number, the flights, my name, date of birth, passport number, email etc., again the price difference of 906 vs 860 EUR in their website, in order to reach the conclusion that I need to go to a ticket office to issue a ticket!!!
Saga continued, as their Athens office which never answers the phone, claimed they can issue my ticket blah blah.
Provided all the details, even paid 40.83 EUR extra which is due to the delays and ticket service charging only to be told at the last moment that they cannot issue a ticket because my voucher had a flight restriction date of earlier than 22 Feb 2024!!!
So, this company is totally disorganized, their call center and systems are a mess. Would never fly with them again. Filed a complaint, requesting my money back as there is no reasonable way of getting a ticket out of that 'voucher'. If not, will have to initiate legal action.

Horrendous is an understatement. Unprofessional, rude, no knowledge and unhelpful. If you want to be nothing but stressed out before, during and after your flights waiting for your return flight then waste your time and money with this airline. They do not deserve one star! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Everything 5-⭐️ | Booking-to-Flight
Everything! I have flown with Turkish Airlines on 4 separate occasions. I booked each trip using their streamlined online platform. I have traveled light and heavy with pets, I'm here to tell you from the easy to the more difficult TA has more than come through for me!
Most recently I flew from Shanghai → Istanbul → Mexico City for a premenant move with 6 large suitcases and a large kennel with 2 dogs! From online booking where I also phoned and worked with an agent when inputing the details for the pets, to check-in at Shanghai Pudong airport, to the lovely Istanbul airport with very kind help with my pets, to arriving in Mexico City - every step, every detail, was exemplary!
This trip was one with concerns because I was traveling with pets for the first time, but TA has the process down. My concerns were soon waylaid. The ground staff personnel were responsive and listened well to my needs and concerns for my pets upon arrival and as we set out for the second leg of the trip.
For me, as a passenger, I flew Business Class and I am pleased I did. Both legs of the trip were at midnight and the care and kindness of the inflight service personnel was welcome indeed. The comfort of the airline was ideal for me for these long-duration flights and provided a bit of privacy for me to sleep or to comfortably sit up and view my computer screen without disturbing anyone else. The food is sumptuous, the selection and taste top notch. The cabin staff super friendly and responsive.
I highly recommend Turkish Airlines for your next trip!

I traveled to my destination on 11th June 2024, upon arrival, two of my suitcases were missing. I was told they would arrive the next day but took 3 days, I incurred hotel costs & had to buy basic neccessities, but Turkish Airlines did not care, I was told I was lucky to receive my suitcases!!!!
On the way back, I booked special assistance, on arrival at Istanbul Airport I was separated from my family & transported with other passengers here & there. At one point, when changing the assistant vehicle, I was told that I had no booking for special assistance & they would not transport me any further to my gate for my connecting flight.
I argued that they had already transported me round half the Airport & had taken my rollator, separated me from my family & were now dumping me. They DID NOT CARE, I was not the only that was being treated inhumanely.
I finally found the customer care desk after walking for about 15 minutes, I was in absolute agony & was actually crying. The people at the desk just kept saying that special assistance was not booked but because I was crying they did help me eventually.
The way the staff at the airport speak to you is absolutely disgusting.
This airline is horrible. Definitely not for the elderly, disabled or people with infants.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I am literally traumatized & in agony for walking around unaided for so long.

Woe betide you have an Open Ticket
The flight is always good but....
September 2023 I had to cancel one ticket due to a family medical emergency. I need to add at this point that Turkish Airlines cancelled BOTH passenger tickets! Last night I tried to use these, now Open Tickets, to rebook flights. After two attempts of thee system not accepting my various cards, I gave up. Today, I have, honestly, phoned NINE times. Each lasting approximately 40-50 minutes only to be met by 'it won't accept your card'. Once I was even cut off as I think the girl couldn't cope with trying to rebook an Open Ticket. I contacted my bank - all is ok with my accounts. We even tried my husband's card, no good either. On the last 50 minute call I asked for a booking reference number so I could try and pay online but apparently he's not allowed to give me one without payment yet, bizarrely, a girl had given me a reference number earlier in the day. Unfortunately I didn't think until quite a while later to try online payment by which time the Reference had timed out. Also there was an excess to pay and, strangely enough, that excess varied from £288 to over £400 with each different phone call. My husband suspects it's some kind of scam, they keep my money from last flight & I get fed up and give up . Interesting. Absolutely appalling organisation. The flights are always ace but should you encounter a problem - do beware. By the way, the telephone staff are always polite but I think hours of training are needed. And I still haven't booked my flights!!
I travelled and my luggages did arrive…
I travelled and my luggages didn't arrive with me. I had to open a case and was asked to wait for it to be delivered. Upon delivery, 2 out of 3 baggages were missing. Wrote to customer service and also called them countless times and they told me they haven't seen it
I asked for my baggages to be paid and they demanded to know the items in it. After few weeks, these guys rejected the request and ended the case with no remorse. They even ask me to take them to court if I want. Hmmm that was astonishing. They are all unprofessionals and they care just about making money.i regretted flying with them.
I will advise that it's better to get an expensive flight than their cheap flights which they claim which is not actually cheap per say.

When I landed at the airport, the flight was canceled, I became unconscious, how to tell my family, he went to go TK the desk, depression, want book Hotel but no Hotel announcement nothing when reached 1 July 24 time 21.20 till stay without sitting chair I feel shame how is possible but this a true he survived and back home shaking body he left Karachi air port came home . I fell, both of my knees were injured, blood came out, and Turkish Airway was responsible for all my pain turkish air line. I need compensation as soon as possible on urgent basis.

I had reserved a chair through their online site. I paid the price and they sent me the receipt. Then they contact my travel agent that they do not approve my request. I contact them for clarification but never reply, not return the money back.
I will never ever fly with Turkish Airlines
Here are some of the details:
1- The airplanes (both ways) were old, extremely noisy and less than comfortable. For me, the main reason to pay for a business class is to be able to sleep during the flight to avoid jet lags. I had to fight jet lags both ways when arriving in Tehran and in Toronto. As a result I lost several days of normal active days. Use of earplugs could not help. I have videos in which everyone can hear the jet noise . Let me know if you like to receive the videos.
2- I am not sure how old were the planes. Both ways, planes from Toronto to Istanbul and from Istanbul to Toronto had no fan on the top of the passengers heads. It was hot. The stewardess promised twice to lower the temperature centrally, but didn't or couldn't. It was extremely uncomfortable.
3- On the flight from Toronto to Istanbul, my main course was a beaf plate, let's say steak. No knife could cut through the meat. My dish was replaced with a new one, the same. The chef tried to cut the meat with no success, apologized and promised to report the case. the side vegetables were old and saggy.
4- Returning to Toronto, in Tehran International Airport, unlike many previous times, I was not allowed into the lounge. I was told that Turkish Airlines has stopped paying the respective dues to that airport. I paid nearly equal to 75 dollars to get into the lounge. Turkish Airlines website specifically states that business class passengers will always be accommodated in the respective lounge areas.
4- On return flight , again the plane was old and so noisy that I was scared for the safety of the flight.
5- Again I couldn't sleep. Some parts around my personal entertainment system were loose. A video that shows the loose parts is available. Let me know how to send it to you.
6- I was lethargic for a few days when back home.
The question is why Turkish Airlines is charging similar prices as its alliance flights but providing much less comfort. Are there regulations to protect customers? Are there rules and regulations to allow alliance formation? Are there regulations to internationally rate the flight classes against the ticket prices?
Customer Service is so bad it is worse than not having any.
It is seriously the worst customer service ever of any company. I had an issue with them regarding miles. I had 80 attempts at contact spent 20-30 hours. They are so bad they make the characters in Little Britain looking like Einstein. Sincerely it is impossible to describe how incredibly dumb they are. They never understood a very simple issue. Also EVERY contact I had to tell everything from the start as they would lose all the previous information. They kept trying to close the issue without solving anything. AND THERE IS NO ESCALATION PROCESS. I had to give up. They were always nice but so hopelessly clueless I never saw anything the like. I thought they were making fun of me at some point as no one can be that dumb!
Purchased ticket disappeared in the system

My mum’s second flight just disappeared from the system! Calling Turkish Airline, they did not accept my claim about the PDF ticket and receipt of purchase, instead suggested that I purchase a new ticket (!!!!!!) if I want it fixed. Else, I wait until morning time in Turkey for someone to look at it, which would be few hours before the flight. All of this happened over night and I ended up very stressed all night, not sleeping and finally 4 hours before the flight when my mum was on the way to the airport they sent a new ticket.
Arrived to the airport and my mum was on a wheelchair. I was checking her in and I asked if they could just check in her hand luggage because she is on a wheelchair and they said you have to pay extra weight for the weight of the hand luggage to do that. Else, she takes it on a wheelchair. The reason I asked was that I was worried that she tries lifting it at any point during the journey and falls injuring herself.
Most fraudulent, inhuman and unreliable experience I have ever had with an airline. This was definitely last time I use it.
