Awful customer services

Awful customer services - it just feels like you are communicating with a bot. Sizes are really small and I tried to return two items beyond 14 days and was told that was not possible, with not even an offer of an exchange. Will not be buying again.

I apologise that you aren't happy with our customer service team and your experience.

Unfortunately as stated on our website, we offer a 14 day returns and exchange unless the item is faulty, which then extends to 6 months.

Disappointed and frustrated by how poorly Hype handled a faulty product and completely ignored UK consumer law.

I ordered a bag that arrived faulty clearly a manufacturing issue. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I was entitled to a full refund or replacement. Instead, Hype refused to refund me, gave me the runaround, and insisted return the bag before anything could be done which is not how consumer protection works.

I was polite, clear, and gave them multiple opportunities to resolve it
properly. Their service was unhelpful, dismissive and defensive. No apology, no accountability, and no willingness to make things right.

Not only was my time wasted, but was also left out of pocket and incredibly frustrated. Hype violated my consumer rights, and would strongly advise others to shop elsewhere.

Parcel was delivered partially open and missing items, their first response is to blame the customer, no phone lines and they barely respond to emails

Oh dear it appears I am not the only…

Oh dear it appears I am not the only one! 😞

I’m not one to leave a negative review and this is actually the first time I’ve ever written one on Trust pilot but after having an appalling customer service experience today I felt compelled to share this. Having just read some of the reviews on Hype this evening it seems that the issue with rucksacks breaking down and coming away at the seams is not novel to myself. I think this only saddens me at how awful the customer service was because this issue is not new to them. I bought a rucksack for my daughter for school at the cost of
£30 and within 6 months it was breaking at the seams. I have sent photos of this but because my complaint had fallen outside of 6 months despite presenting evidence of the photos taken being dated to within 6 months they have refused to accept my complaint. The correspondence has been cold, rigid and dismissive of the evidence presented that the product is indeed faulty. Surely a £30 branded rucksack should survive longer than 6 months? I have a Jansport rucksack that is over 5 years old and there’s not a stitch out of place. I have a Clark’s rucksack given to my other child for carrying school books at the same time as the Hype bag and this is in immaculate condition. Clearly these are far superior products compared to Hype and I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. It appears from other reviews that the quality of Hype products has gone downhill and that the customer service can be terrible. This was the first time I had purchased an item from Hype and it mostly certainly will be the last. Customers be warned. I think when it goes well it’s all good but if you get any issues, don’t expect any customer support.

Unresolved - Incomplete and wrong items delivered

I have just had the most horrendous experience. I ordered 6 items and one wasn’t delivered at all - a pair of joggers. One of the tracksuit I got was sent in the wrong size with the top being the right size and the joggers bottom being too large and the wrong size. I was so happy to see a package delivered promptly on time only for it to be the wrong items. Leading up to this Jo had rendered great customer service on another issue but the items arriving and being wrong really made the entire experience a disappointment. The issue remains unresolved as it’s a weekend and they’re only reachable via email on weekdays.

Refused to replace backpack

Bought a backpack for my son when he started secondary school. After 3 months of use the thing had fallen apart. Not just a zip had broken but the bag was still usable but stitching had come undone, the zip fell off, it's unusable! Tried to contact customer services via chat but was after hours and so left a message. Couple of weeks later I hadn't received a response so chased it on the live chat but as I was now contacting them a few days after 6 months from the order date I was no longer eligible for any assistance. Despite my saying I had contacted them within the time frame they denied all knowledge of any message despite me having a confirmation message from the webpage saying submitted. They would rather brand me a liar and leave customers thinking their products are terrible quality than offer a replacement bag. In all honesty if they cannot guarantee that a backpack will be in working order no longer than 6 months from their order date they should not be charging £30 for them! Avoid at all costs! Very telling that they only reply to 5 star reviews left on here!

I have had very terrible experiences…

I have had very terrible experiences buying from just hype. On three occasions I bought back pack and lunch bags. I got only one item delivered I had to order another a wrong item was delivered again. I had to continue chasing up until I got refunded. Recently I bought something for almost two weeks item was not delivered I am still chasing up delivery. Very bad customer service

Contacted several times about a parcel…

Contacted several times about a parcel that hadn't arrived. Fobbed off, and when it was a month and a half later, I still had to contact them and finally got a refund - whilst treated like I'd had it and was making it up. Very poor service - used them a couple times previously but shows that it's good until it's not.

The quality has dramatically reduced

I've bought Hype tracksuits in the past and am extremely dissapointed that they've reduced the amount of cotton in their product. My tracksuit from over a year ago is still perfect wash after wash. I bought 2 more just before Christmas and they bobbled immediately after the first wash! I absolutely wouldn't mind paying more for good quality clothing, please go back to your old cotton blend because this customer will not be returning to buy this low quality rubbish. Really really dissapointed.

Disappointed and out of pocket!!!

Have had wallets and lunchboxes in the past which were great BUT…
Backpack purchased felt apart at the seam on shoulder strap after a couple of days. Had to return and an exact replacement was sent which we appreciated until the exact same thing happened again within a couple of days. OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY ITEM but they would not refund as we had received a free drawstring bag originally (which is actually fine quality). Even offered for them to subtract cost of drawstring bag from the refund but they would only give a credit note. Couldn’t face the hassle of returning again and didn’t want anything else from them so I am out of pocket AND WILL NEVER BE PURCHASING FROM HYPE IN THE FUTURE!!!! I have paid £40 for a drawstring bag :-(

Would give 0 stars if possible

Would give 0 stars if possible. First order arrived and bag came apart at seams, after returning refunded but onto gift card . Purchases another order , after over a week , I chased up order for them to just message and say they have cancelled the order and part refunded back onto a gift card and part PayPal. Ordered another item as still needed to use the gift card. After over two weeks , chased again for them again to just cancel the order without a reason. After checking have realised they haven’t refunded for the previous order. Have tried contacting but still getting no response . Terrible customer service. These were all going to be Christmas presents and yet have nothing to show for it and still out of pocket due to not getting refunded.
