Without doubt, from start to finish this has been the most professional company I have ever dealt with. The communication with Richard was always incredibly speedy, the timings of fittings always spot on, and the attention to detail by James during the fitting process second to none. Really lovely company to deal with and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone with an appropriate budget for a quality job with top level materials, and an unbeatable Lifetime Guarantee.

I must confess to some initial worries having seen that every single review from PAYING Customers were 5*. Perceived “wisdom” on the Internet appears to be that this is a “red flag” and that you cannot satisfy everyone … so it MUST be a scam! Well … quite simply, all the Reviews are genuinely 5* because that is absolutely the quality of product and service you will get.

I noted the odd 1* review, which on inspection were from people who had made enquiries and NOT gone ahead. Basically they had objected to the automatically generated response to the “Enquiry Form” asking for information on the Client’s budget. This seemed to me a very reasonable starting point, as is their policy of NOT providing Free “Design and Quote” services, and quickly sorts out those who are genuine potential clients, and those who are likely to just be buying on price alone, and who should perhaps be directed elsewhere!

We opted for the Shaker Style, and whilst this added about 50% to the price, it was so worth it, as it just fits in so well with the panelled doors throughout the house.

Amazing service as always! We had our understair storage fitted around 4 years ago and it has been a fantastic use of space in our home. The team have been out today to give a full service of the cupboards with us having so much use of them over the years to ensure the draws are working as they were when we got them fitted. Thank you so so much!

Like some other reviewers, I ultimately did not become a paying customer due to the service I received during my initial enquiries.

I contacted Under Stairs Storage as a first-time customer exploring bespoke storage solutions. While the company responded promptly, I found the communication and overall customer service to be poor and less helpful than I had expected as someone unfamiliar with the bespoke design process.

To provide context:

1. On 19th January, I enquired about pricing and mentioned that I was new to bespoke storage, hoping to get an idea of typical costs for a project of my size.

2. On the same day, the company responded, explaining that costs depend on materials and design. However, no general pricing examples or similar projects were shared, leaving me uncertain about what to expect.

3. Later that day, I followed up to explain I didn’t have a budget in mind and asked if a solution under £1,000 was feasible. I received a similar response, but without the additional clarity I needed as a first-time customer.

4. On 26th January, after receiving a competitor’s quote, I asked for advice on maximizing space and how their bespoke service could better meet my needs. Unfortunately, the response did not engage with my query or differentiate their service.

As someone without prior experience in bespoke design, I found the communication difficult and the process challenging. I felt more guidance or practical advice on how to proceed would have been beneficial. The communication placed expectations on me to already know specifics like materials and finishes, which I found difficult as a new customer.

While the company may work well for experienced customers, I felt their customer service didn’t fully cater to someone in my position. If the engagement had been more tailored to help me navigate the process, I would have considered paying for a quote, even if it was above competitor prices.

I shared my feedback in an honest review to help the company improve its approach for first-time enquirers. Unfortunately, following this, I received several emails from the company that I found distressing. The communications included demands to amend my review, threats of legal action, and personal references to my address and business details. I felt these messages were unnecessary and intimidating, which added to my negative experience.

I hope this feedback is helpful to both the company and future customers.

From talking to Richard, discussing what we required and what they could do for us to James coming to install the cupboards it was all very professional, prompt and courteous and reasonably priced. Richard was very helpful in advising us and James was very hardworking in installing the cupboards. We highly recommend this company.

What an amazing company! I want to say a huge "thank you" to Richard and James; we are so pleased. I will be recommending Under Stairs Storage to everyone who's considering having a storage solution built. I wish all companies were so conscientious and I wish they paid so much attention to detail as Richard and his team; this is so rare these days. James treated our house and the project with so much care as if it was his own; he worked really hard and asked questions to make sure we were happy with the outcome. Richard was so helpful and responsive from start to finish and I can honestly say that this was "money well spent"; the quality is outstanding and you can tell that it will stand the test of time! We purchased our under stairs storage unit 18 months ago, with a plan to rate the product (good or bad) after significant use. I can share that the product is quite simply one of the best home improvement purchases I have ever made. I have a large family including a teenager who uses the cupboards like she is sealing an aircraft door, and even with this heavy use multiple times a day, the product remains in perfect and strong working order.

I did choose this product based on its over engineered design, and I am pleased I did as I have no doubt we will have decades of use without any issues.

The space and design of the product is second to none, hiding a multitude of shoes, jackets and bags.

And it looks very high class in a minimalistic design.

High praise from me and I would recommend to anyone considering what to do with their under stair space.

Really excellent job. They probably regret taking me on for a first floor triple return staircase with four changes of pitch and bizarre curved understair moulding, but the final result has exceeded my expectations. Price very reasonable for bespoke furniture installation even down selling me at one point. Fitter worked a long hard day and left area very tidy after he was done. Strong recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough of this company , the service and quality of craftsmanship. The drawers were installed impeccably by a highly professional team who were super polite, super tidy and created an amazing finish. I am absolutely delighted with the cupboards and the after-care service has been equally as impressive - if only all customer service and installations were this good ! don’t consider any alternatives , these really are simply perfect and you will be delighted with them Too .

Fully appreciated my detailed orientated nature and willingness to adept during install to some subtly needs and changes. Overall a fully bespoke solution and the workmanship by James omg! And Richard's support behind the scenes just wow!

Thrilled with the storage space implemented by USS under my stairs. The company clearly knows what it is doing and not only does the space look great it is very well made and fitted together. I have no hesitation in recommending the company, they did a brilliant job.
