I contacted Unitel today and was greeted by Jason on Customer Services who was most polite and professional. Having explained my enquiry to him, he handled it very well and was most informative and helpful. Jason and Samson manage my account and have done so successfully.
Thank you to you both.
⸻ ⭐ Misleading Terms, Refused Cancellation — Disappointing Experience
I run a small business and was contacted by Unitel Direct Ltd about an online advertising package. The sales call made the service sound straightforward, but after payment I discovered key terms I was not told about during the call:
• No cooling-off period at all, despite this being the norm for most services.
• Automatic 12-month renewal unless written notice is given well in advance.
• A personal guarantee making me personally liable for my limited company’s payments.
• Vague deliverables and “guaranteed” results only for Bing/Yahoo, not Google.
When I requested cancellation and a refund immediately after seeing the full terms, they refused, claiming the contract was binding from the phone call alone. I have since raised a dispute with my bank and reported the matter to Trading Standards and Action Fraud.
In my experience, the sales process was not transparent and the contract terms were unfair. I would urge other small business owners to read every word carefully before agreeing to anything and be cautious of high-pressure phone sales.
Jason from Customer Services
Speaking to Jason made me feel confident in my process with dealing with customer services on a issue dealing with my accounts, very quick response from Jason thank you.
Miss sold, bad service
I Was called several times by a very keen salesman regarding my website. I was talked into buying a holding page for my business under a new name. I was assured I would list under the paid adds in google in no more than 10 weeks. I paid for this service on the 1st April, we are now the 7th August and the page is nowhere to be found, you can only find it by searching the web address.
I have called several times to ask why the service doesn’t perform and nothing has been done. They sold the same service to a company local to me and it looks like it’s working for them, maybe I’m forgotten about!!!
I have asked for a refund but apparently they can’t give refunds?
Miss sold a service not happy.
