Not been for a long time after asking for a frame to be resprayed matt black only to get it back gloss black, cos apparently it looks better, but also he fitted his own decals that I hadn’t asked for because I had decals from the original maker to put on myself

And I also gave him a Campagnolo Chorus heaset which he claimed wouldn’t fit so fitted another but then when I went to collect it he claimed that I had never left one to be fitted. Funny after calling me to tell me that it apparently wouldn’t fit. Although I found that odd at the time

Excellent service, great return policy, fast responses. Very pleased.

Ordered a shifter and brake lever from Universal and the processing and shipping was painfully slow. Once the parts were installed on the bike, noticed the shifter was not working properly. Started a return and the service rep tells me the parts had to be “uninstalled” for them to accept a return and that I should deal directly with the manufacturer of the part for a warranty issue. Keep in mind that this was all within the 30 day return policy. Take your business elsewhere knowing the return policy will always be better than Universal’s

UC has been working very well for me for a number of years now. Great selections and descriptions on the website. Easy to navigate. You know immediately if in stock. And with free shipping, my last order was at my door in 24 hours!

Universal Cycles has a very poor return policy: NO RETURNES ON USED ITEMS. How the hell are we supposed to try something if we can't return it. For that reason alone I won't be shopping there again.

Very poor customer service. We received as a gift one of the products from this store, unfortunately it didn’t work for us and I was trying to return it. Accidentally I recycled the original box, so I shipped it nicely packaged plain box. They would not accept my return and would not even give me credit towards other items. I get it, it says on their policy that original package needed for refund, but I don’t understand why they couldn’t sell this product as open box or something?!
Will never shop there again.

I reported to Universal Cycles that the Gusset Lofty seatpost that I bought from them 3 years ago broke in half just below the saddle clamp, luckily it did not cause me to crash. They may not notify their customers that bought this seatpost, but hopefully they do.

If you bought this seatpost, send it to the recycle bin.

I ordered a road fork... the price was excellent, it arrived on time, with no problems. I then ordered a Shimano 12 speed Ultegra group, again, an excellent price, everything arrived on time and as described. I have the feeling that they are inexpensive because they have a small staff and a large volume of orders. I will order from them in the future if I am certain and knowledgeable about what I want.

I ordered a Chris King bottom bracket from them a few weeks ago. Unluckily and rarely, there was a machining issue with the threads, so it wouldn't screw in. I was pretty distraught, as this is a fairly expensive component.

I reached out to UC to work with Chris King for the warranty. They had me ship it back to them, and sent a replacement to me within a few weeks.

The new part worked like a charm!

Lately parts shipments have gone as far as 7 days before shipping. Had issues where parts claimed to be in abundance in 3 warehouses so Nevada was said to be the warehouse shipping part. % days go by and no shipping confirmation so I emailed . Was told delayed due to weather, LMAO weather!!! CS says "weather is the worst ever seen in 20 years", BS weather was great and roads from Nevada to Cali were wide open. Don't appreciate being lied to. Obviously they are doing great business and don't want me as a customer.

What a horrible service from this company. They ask you to fill out the billing address and shipping address when you order products. What they don't tell you is that if the billing address is different from shipping address then they will not ship out, because of supposed fraud issues. A) Other bike stores/suppliers don't have this policy as long as the credit card matches the correct billing address B) They supposedly send you an e-mail, but if you don't reply (even if it goes to junk mail) then they will cancel your order without trying again. Afterwards not willing to work with you and tell you to make sure that the billing and shipping address are the same or they will not ship it out (at least according to Mark at the Oregon store). Traveled from overseas to pick up components for a bike build and they are the only ones who didn't deliver and left me dry.

Be careful when ordering. You are stuck with return shipping and they have you ship to Oregon instead of a closer shop. Shipping back is very expensive. Even for a small part.

Only shop here if you aren't in a rush to receive your parts. Can take a week just for your order to be processed.

Ordered a Sunrace 11-42t, 10 speed, *black* cassette that could not be found in black at local bike shops and was informed the suppliers do not have the parts. Universal Cycles has a large warehouse and a wide selection of bike parts with multiple shipping methods available. In less than 24 hours, Universal Cycles ensured the part was shipped overnight from the Northwest corner of the United States to the Southeast corner of the United States, to be delivered in the morning, and for installation without fail that guaranteed the weekend ride would be enjoyed. Universal Cycles is Trustworthy.

Front end of the website needs work. It’s from another time. But even after I got past that, they cancelled my order claiming my billing and shipping address didn’t match. After confirming with my card issuer all was in order and there was no discrepancy, I couldn’t get any info from UC on what the problem might be on their end.

May be good for some who use checks, stones or other prehistoric currency, but painful for those of us in the 21st century.

Hoping they iron it all out.
