worst scam ever!!
worst scam ever!!! 5 day cancelation period, I was still on vacation. When I got the call from them a few weeks later, thats when i find out about all the hidden fees. And now I must pay 50% penalty and I get jack shit in return. So $7000 down the drain. And they pressure you to accept the deal right away or you get nothing. I couldnt even take the day to look everything over. Total BS.
THIS IS WHAT I HAD TO SEND TO MY BANK
THIS IS WHAT I HAD TO SEND TO MY BANK
Dear Starling Dispute Resolution Team,
I am writing to formally dispute charges made by Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC) and request assistance in halting further payments and refunding amounts paid to date.
During our honeymoon in May this year , my wife and I were subjected to an intensive sales pitch by UVC that occupied an entire day of our trip. The representatives assured us of extraordinary travel benefits, including 20 weeks of worldwide holidays for up to eight guests, priced at £300 per booking. Part of our business model in 2025 is to provide training for our clients and we thought being able to do this in an idyllic holiday destination would be ideal.
Despite our hesitation, we were pressured into signing the contract under the influence of complimentary champagne.
Following the signing, we were given only a Spanish version of the contract, (attached to this document) which we could not read or translate at the time. Upon returning home, we reached out to UVC for clarification on our membership benefits and how to book the promised holidays. This resulted in a frustrating runaround; each company referred us to a different company – Universal Vacation Club to RCI and vice versa – with none able to provide clear guidance on how to access the benefits. We had never even heard of RCI before our initial conversation with Universal Vacation Club.
After several failed attempts to get a straightforward explanation, we requested an English translation of the contract and a step-by-step booking guide. While they eventually sent a translated contract, this was sent from yet another company we had never even heard of, Global International INC) they refused to provide the booking guidance. Our last email on October 1st, 2024, (attached) where we warned we would cancel unless we received assistance, we were told in an email (also attached) that one of their representatives would be in touch. That email was received on October 2nd we have yet to receive any response or support from UVC.
Given the misleading nature of UVC’s representations, our inability to utilise the promised benefits, and the obstructive responses from their customer service, I am seeking the following actions.
Immediate cancellation of all further payments to UVC from our business account, which we intended to use for developing travel-based training retreats.
Refund of all payments made to UVC to date, as we believe this contract was obtained through misrepresentation.
Whatever you do DONT SIGN UP FOR THIS…
Whatever you do DONT SIGN UP FOR THIS SCAM!!! Three years and 8,000 later we are still trying to get out of this mess. We have never been able to access or use this "club". It's amazing how they have all these benefits and you can never utilize them. Just about every review on here is the same! Has anyone considered a class action lawsuit???
Hard sale at first resort and endless…
Hard sale at first resort and endless promises. None come to fruition. You're infinitely better off purchasing rack rates through specific resorts or cruise lines than this shell game. Pay enormously upfront and then shown huge cash amounts that you are "allowed" to use less than 7 percent of per year. Stay AWAY!!! They are the biggest sheisters in the industry and they give good groups like Sheraton and Marriott a bad name by association. Horrible customer service, horrible everything!!!!
Joining the Unlimited Vacation Club has…
Joining the Unlimited Vacation Club has completely changed the way I travel. As a member, I’ve had access to some of the most incredible luxury resorts around the world, all at preferred rates. Whether I’m looking for a relaxing wellness retreat, a romantic getaway, or even a family vacation, UVC always offers something special.
The best part is the exclusive benefits—every time I arrive at one of their partner resorts, I feel like I’m getting VIP treatment. From personalized service to top-notch amenities, they really go out of their way to make sure my stay is memorable. The collection of resorts is diverse and constantly evolving, which means I can explore new destinations while still enjoying the same high level of service.
If you love traveling and want to do it in style, Unlimited Vacation Club is definitely worth considering. It’s given me unforgettable experiences and the ability to make memories in some of the world’s most beautiful locations. Highly recommended!
I took a vacation to Cabo San Lucas
I took a vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico from May 11-18 with some friends to celebrate by cousin’s birthday. My one friend rented a car and got a discount if he attended this presentation about a vacation club. So I went with him and another friend to the presentation. The presentation was impressive, but pricey and my friend wasn’t interested. They said we could all equally invest and have equal access to the website to schedule vacations, that we could use our own email and password to access the website. Since they promised that each of us would be equal owners and have equal access to the website, we decided to invest in this vacation club. One of us had to be the primary owner and the other 2 would be secondary or co-owners. The primary owner would have access to the account after 12 days and then the secondary owners could be added. They told us they couldn’t give us a copy of the contract. Also, we would not have access to the website for 12 days, but we only had 5 days to cancel.
Everything they told us was a complete lie, only 2 people could get access to the website. We found out who our account manager was and reached out to him but he never returned our calls. We finally got in touch with his supervisor, who was supposed to do a conference call with the 3 of us because he wanted to hear our complaints. We told him we just wanted to cancel and get our money back. He never made the scheduled call to us and our calls to him went unanswered so we decided to pursue legal action to get our money back
To bad you have to give one star
To bad you have to give one star, I would go negative if I could. I purchased a vacation package in Los Cabos and realized it was not as I had been promised. I rescinded during my stay and was told all would be taken care of. I am still fighting with them. Such a unethical and dishonest company. Avoid at all costs.
Got taken by a talented sales group at…
Got taken by a talented sales group at a Secrets resort. They demo'd amazing savings and amazing resorts at high cost that I immediately balked at. When they presented a less expensive level of membership, I became interested, but they failed to tell me that the lesser membership level meant far less in the way of saving, availability, resorts, etc. Also they failed to send me a copy of my contract, and notify me that I had 5 days to back out 100%. Only after the 5 days did my online registration information appear and I could explore what my membership level actually gave me the power to reserve. I was and am sorely disappointed. I guess I can get some value out of what I've invested, but I won't be seeing the 15 years of 50% discounts that I really thought I might well have signed up for. More like 15 years of 25% discounts on the least desirable rooms during the least desirable seasons. Full price otherwise.
Kudos to the sales team, they did a great job. I am not easily swayed (or so I thought), but I fell for it hook/line/sinker.
So buyer beware. Based on online forums and discussions, if you bought the full, most expensive level membership, and you travel 3-4x year, and you're super flexible about timing of travel, this could work well. But anything short of that, and troubles begin...
We were members
We were members, they say that if an event happens in your life that makes it hard or impossible to pay, you have the ability to freeze payments. That is not true at all, my wife got stage four lung cancer which she eventually beat. They would not work with us at all, in fact they harassed us with multiple daily phone calls and emails, collecting thousands of dollars for the UVC, which we were unable to take advantage of because of bills for cancer treatments, and medications.
We were finally able to stop the payments after a few years, and booked a vacation via Apple not using the club obviously, we then go through another presentation to get the free coupons to be used for spa or whatever, present them with our previous experience and amount money they collected already. At first they claimed they didnt own UVC during the time period we had our issues but that proved to be incorrect and they did in fact own UVC during the majority of that time. You think a reputable company would apply that amount to a new contract; but you would be wrong they more or less gave us the middle finger, offering us hotel stays, and then blaming our experience on the location we made the contract with as lying to us
BY far the WORST Club to Ever Join
BY far the WORST Club to Ever Join. Way too many restrictions, customers service has no clue to what the contracts say or how you can use your time that you already paid for. DO NOT JOIN THIS, they do nothing for their members !!!!! The discount they "SAY" they give you is a BULL because you can book cheaper thru a travel agent or get the same price, Save you money!
Had a great experience when staying at…
Had a great experience when staying at the resort in Punta de Mita . Food was excellent as was the spa where we spent a whole afternoon. If you are just looking to relax then this is the place for an all inclusive. It is not on the cheaper end of the scale for all inclusibes but that reflects in the quality you get.
Total Scam
Total Scam. I quote "UVC and World of Hyatt are partners, they're like one and the same. If you find a lower price online, I will beat it by 25%." Turns out that's not true, only applies to two Hyatt locations. To get out of the agreement, they make you pay 50% of the total cost which can be tens of thousands of dollars. They will not honor the terms as explained by their representatives. They will reinterpret the terms later to scam you out of your money and you will get no benefits. Fraudulent organization
Knowledge is power.
I got caught up into investing through there high pressure sales approach. They get you in a big room give you free drinks and tell you a bunch of crap that sounds good. I signed a 10,000 contract. 2 days later I found all this great info on trust pilot and I canceled just in the nick of time. They have a 5 day cancelation policy. So I was able to get out of the BS contract. I don't know if the company is legit or not but I'm not trying to find out either.
Is it worth it?
Is it worth it? My wife and I bought the unlimited vacation club. We were married Nov 2019, went on our honeymoon, January 2020 at a Secrets resort in Riveria Mya, Mexico. Truth, They sales pitch you on free couples massage if you sit through an hour long presentation. They give you drinks, have supervisors tell you all the $$ you are losing if you don’t buy this thing. There job is to sell you. So we put down $5k for a 5 year membership. You ask if it was worth it? Here’s the truth. When we got back into the country January 2020 the first case of Covid in the United States happened. By March 2020 the whole world shut down. Fast forward Nov 2020 my wife is pregnant. April 2021 we buy a house. August 2021 we have our baby girl. Life happens. Especially as newlyweds. Now that our baby girl is a little over two and we’re finally settling in we want to use our premier nights. Basically a one week free vacation that we earned paying $5k back in 2020. It is now 2024 and we know our membership expires Jan 2025. So I go to book a trip which we deserve and they tell me my premier nights expired March of 2024. Why the f” would my premier nights expire before my membership expires? Makes no sense. So I email customer service and beg them to extend me. They grant me the extension and we book our week long vaca for Nov 3rd-10th 2024. Right after we find out my wife is pregnant with baby number 2 and our due date is Dec 9th. We’re not flying a month before her due date for a vaca. So I called customer service again and I had to email them again my story. I just got an answer today that all sales are final if we cancel our reservation because we already got an extension once. Awesome. So they won’t do anything about it. $5k in 5 years and we did nothing with it. Not worth it at all. I’m sure if you shop around you can find an all inclusive deal for a couple for a week for a lot cheaper then $5k. You asked the truth. Newlyweds that have real future goals are prey. And it’s not worth it if you know you want kids, house, etc. if you have the $$ to go on multiple vacas a year then it’s prob worth it. If you have a family, house, upgrades, etc. vacation club is a complete waste and once they have your $$ they will do nothing to accommodate you once anything in life happens. Not worth it. In the future we will gladly sit through an hour presentation to get a free couples massage and drink there booze, but not a chance giving up my credit card again. No thanks.
AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS
AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS.
They do not give you what you pay for and the accommodation at some of their resorts are absolutely vile, filthy and disgusting.
Don’t allow them to ruin your holidays like they did ours.
I was on a vacation holiday with jet2…
I was on a vacation holiday with jet2 and have never had a problem with jet 2. I was with my partner after are baby died at 23 weeks. We were not in a good head space. We was approached by people at a desk which was next to the main desk. It had a world of Hyatt plaque and everyone acted professional. They give you a big speech and offer you gift vouchers. Which you don’t guess unless you sign up. Then they take your money and everything changes. Everyone turns into ghosts. No one is reachable. No more questions answered.
You then go to the concierge service you was promised. They don’t have a concierge service. They take your call and talk to you like spit. If the person on the phone thinks you are asking to many questions. They then put you on hold and pass you around without getting anywhere. They’re a scam and they want £2900 a year for 3 years. I’m having to go the legal way to get back my funds. They’re disgusting and need to be stopped. They pray on people on holiday in hotel foyers. UVC the pass you onto U holidays. This is the icing on the cake. No one is actually English even though you request it. They pass you around for days. Say they will call you back.
UNLIMITED VACATION HOLIDAYS IS A SCAM.
The good reviews are their employees. Avoid them at all costs. You will lose £10000!!!
First time at an all inclusive resort
First time at an all inclusive resort. At checkin, between the lady's accent and trying to eat for the first time all day, I found out I had signed up for the sales pitch. They wanted $99,000 for a 40 year membership. Being 69 yrs old, I said no didn't need that, they kept coming back with different offers and we kept saying no.Finally, their last offer was a 5 night 6 day stay for $1500, excluding airfare. That, we accepted and have booked a trip for December. Very high pressure sales pitch, but you have to stick to your guns and not be intimidated.
Worst Customer Service Experience of my life
We visited Dreams Tulum Resort for vacation and were approached for a membership presentation with Unlimited Vacations. We initially agreed to sign up, and due to unforeseen circumstances had to cancel. In the contract, you legally have 5-15 days to cancel without penalty. I canceled 4 days after signing the contract. I sent an email on 5/21 about the cancellation. I spoke to Luis and Jose, plus their Supervisor in Member Services on 5/22 and 5/23 and they confirmed they received the email cancellation and that it would be processed. They also confirmed I would receive a call from the Sales Floor. I spoke to Manuel and Luis at the sales room at Dreams Tulum and also confirmed with them on the same dates of the cancellation. Please explain to me why I was charged ANYWAY. I called the Payments Department and spoke to Brian today, and he claims it will be escalated and some more BS. Same BS they have been saying all week. They've tried to use bullying tactics lying saying I was in breach of contract (Manuel from the Sales Floor said this to me today 5/25/2024). He also lied and said that per the contract 50% was due, which is not true because I read contracts thoroughly so I know what my rights are. They are supposed to refund me the down payment and cancel the membership since it was canceled within 4 days of purchase. I kept being told I would receive email confirmation of cancellation. I canceled 5 days ago, and still haven't received anything but phone calls stating I was in breach of contract, I wouldn't be able to cancel due to the contact and more BS. I recorded every single call and stated on each call actually on page XYZ it shows that if I cancel within 5 business days I would be fully refunded and not charged any future payments. So you're in breach of contract. You were able to send me confirmation of the membership SAME DAY, but yet its been 5 days since canceling and still nothing. Thankfully I recorded every single call. Now I am reporting them for fraud
Horrible company
Horrible company! They take your money and don’t deliver on their promises. Stay away!! They lie. They told us kids under 12 are free which is why we signed up as we have little ones. Booked our first trip to find out we had to pay. They told us no blackout dates and there are lots. Their customer service is terrible. They advertised a new resort to get there and find out it was a run down takeover. They promised us a refund at the hotel for the nights we did not use because we checked out early related to the conditions of the hotel flew back home and we have yet to get our money back. That was 3 months ago. Called left messages to their quality assurance division and they won’t refund my money. Very angry and upset. DO NOT JOIN!!!! You will lose money. I have lost thousands.
