I went yesterday with coupon in hand. One guy I've seen regularly started the process and then I feel scammed. The second guy fast talked me. He went over gas treatment prices, mentioning 3 different... See more

Completely Awful- Hazardous
My experience at the Valvoline located in Chicago Heights Il, was the absolute worse exsperience I've ever had. Not only was the staff extremely inexperienced, but they did a poor wheel alignment job and broke my lugnut/bolt off my tire and lied. They took no responsibility whatsoever for the damages caused, by saying my fairly new car came into the shop that way. They also tightened all of my remaining lugnuts on each wheel excessively tight, and not according to the car manufacturers standards, putting my family and I at extreme danger and risk for accidents and even more damages. Then to speak to the manager Theodore and have him tell me that overtighting lugnuts isn't dangerous and does not cause potential risk let me know that they are all around ill equipt to properly service anyone. I highly encourage everyone to NEVER go to the Valvoline in Chicago Heights, and anywhere else for that matter. Honestly, if one location is this terrible I definitely don't have faith in the rest.
Valvoline’s negligence caused serious engine damage
Valvoline’s negligence caused serious engine damage — and they refused to take responsibility.
I went in for a simple oil change. Months later, my engine started smoking on the road. A specialist diagnosed the issue immediately: Valvoline had crushed the oil filter during installation, causing oil to slowly leak and severely damage critical engine components.
I filed a claim and sent photos and video evidence. Valvoline stalled for a week while my car sat undriveable. They told me if I approved repairs, they’d deny the claim—then denied it anyway without ever inspecting the car. I was left with towing costs, major repairs, and no vehicle.
When I tried to escalate, I was told no one would likely get back to me. The complete lack of accountability and respect was shocking.
Avoid Valvoline at all costs. If they damage your vehicle, they will not stand behind their work. You could be left footing a massive repair bill for their mistake.
I used to really like Valvoline oil…
I used to really like Valvoline oil change. They were fast, convenient and cheap. Most of those things are gone now. You used to be able to call them and get an estimated wait time from a robot, which could help you decide whether it was worth it or not to drive to a Valvoline location. It was a time and frustration saver. They took that away. They used to be cheap– they’re not cheap anymore. Literally the only thing they have left going for them is the fact that you can show up whenever it suits you – but that’s not nearly as good now that you don’t know if there’s a long line. You might get there and find it too full and have to look someplace else instead.
They’ve pretty much become not worth it anymore- which is a shame because they WERE good and they took away all the things that made them worth using. Bad decisions at the top, Valvoline. Tsk.
The Valvoline location in Menomonee…
The Valvoline location in Menomonee Falls WI stated via an email that they use the EVAC system to remove the old oil but they do not. I ended up spending $1600 for a new oil pan for my car because they striped my oil pan screw when they drained my oil. That location would not admit they did anything wrong and stated multiple times they did not strip my oil pan screw, ever though that was the only place I had my oil changed. Do not go to Valvoline unless you want to replace your oil pan
I wish i could leave no stars
I wish i could leave no stars. In 3 months I had an oil change done and the tech misread the amount of oil put in, I called and went back and the technician spoke with manager then informed me the manager stated I needed to pay for additional oil even though i was within the 30 warranty. The technician filled my oil and 2 months later my maintenance light came on so I took it to the Palm bay location and was told that it was extremely overfilled and that it could have led to problems with the engine. It had over 3 times the amount of oil that was required. This location is closer to me but I will drive 35 out the way to go to palm bay as I know my car is in good hands. Do better because thos could have cost me more than just an oil change
READ THIS GET THIS OUT THERE
I want to express my concerns about the manager of this store (652 7200 S, Midvale, UT 84047), Joey. In my experience working with him, I found him to be rude, lazy, and sexist. Other employees could likely share similar experiences.
Joey frequently allowed the women to take a back seat while the men handled the cleaning duties. The men often had to endure uncomfortable conditions, whether it was extreme cold or heat, while out holding the sign; the women were not held to the same standards. This type of management is unhealthy for everyone involved, which is why I'm writing this to warn others about him.
You should be cautious about trusting your valuable and expensive car with this individual. There are other Valvoline or Burt Brothers locations that you can consider instead.
Furthermore, there are serious forms of sexual misconduct. Joey has sexually assaulted some of his employees, which cannot be overlooked. This behavior is intolerable and must be addressed immediately.

Had my oil changed in my 2022…
Had my oil changed in my 2022 Silverado. Started noticing circle spots on my concrete driveway. Gradually increasing in size I crawled under the truck and noticed oil leaking from the oil filter. The oil filter was ready to fall off and was not tight at all. I called them and they changed my again and gave me a free oil change after. I expressed my concern over my stained driveway and the manger said he would personally come and clean. He never showed up. Had I not crawled under it would have been an engine replacement. Also, manager stated he had a lot of new employees and this is not the first time. They need more quality control. I will not be returning for my “free” oil change.
Southaven vavoline is horrible do not…
Southaven vavoline is horrible do not go he lied like he checked my fluids because he was ready to close when I said something about it he then filled everything up waited over an hour
I went to the Clifton Park NY location…
I went to the Clifton Park NY location for an inspection. Although I was there at noon and they are open until 5 the guy tells me no he won’t do it because he is going home! What is going on? If you don’t want to work just close the shop. I will never return regardless. This is beyond incompetence. It is lazy and rude to treat customers this way. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted.
Whenever I go to Valvoline
Whenever I go to Valvoline, I have a shoddy experience. Whether it’s being sold wipers that break or don’t clear windshield after a month, or being told they can’t take me when it’s 5:40 and they close at 6pm. I like the convenience of sitting in car, but customer support and fairness are lacking.
No Accountability, No response. CRICKETS
Mr. Mitchell: The reason that I am attempting to contact you is concerning an issue I had with your location in Franklin TN. I took my girlfriend car to this location for the second time. While checking in I mentioned to the attendant that previously after my oil change there was a leak of oil on my garage floor. He assured me and game a personal promise it won't happen again. We'll guess what it did. When I contacted Customer Service I expected some action and as of today crickets. Not sure if this is the way you want your company managed but that's not my issue.
Will you kindly have someone to look into the matter? There's recorded and written messages. I'm sure CS calls are probably recorded for those to do research or simply call me.
Now, if you feel I'm wrong, just let me know.

Scammed by Valvoline
Scammed by Valvoline – Warning to Others!
I want to share my recent experience with Valvoline so others don’t fall into the same trap.
Before purchasing an oil change Groupon (valued at $53), I called Valvoline and confirmed with a representative which option I should choose. I followed their advice and was clearly told that after redeeming the Groupon, I’d only have to pay $7 extra — no more.
But once the service was done, I was shocked to hear that my $53 Groupon only covered $24 of the total cost. They told me I now owed $74 more, meaning I effectively lost $30 on the Groupon and still had to pay more than the full price of a regular oil change.
I asked them to review the phone call where I was told the $7 final charge — because they record all customer calls — but they refused to review it before 5 PM and said I had to pay immediately or leave without my ID, which they were holding. They told me to come back tomorrow if I wanted them to listen to the call, but for now, I had to pay up.
I felt pressured, scammed, and powerless. There was no supervisor available, no willingness to resolve it fairly, and no accountability. I paid based on a promise that they’re now refusing to honor.
This is unacceptable, and I’ll be sharing this story everywhere until it’s made right.
Valvoline, Seekonk, MA
Valvoline, Seekonk, MA - liars, can't change an oil filter and wouldn't pay for repair.
I took my car in for an oil change... a few weeks later I still smelt oil burning so I took my car into the dealer and $180 later, they told me the oil filter was not installed correctly. I asked the Mngr (Moses) to pay for the $180 for the correction, showed them the dealer invoice and had the dealership send him an email with details. They declined to pay.
Besides just being horrible at oil changes, they also lied and pointed to a little rust on my radiator saying that was a sign that I needed to have my radiator flushed (total BS).
Liars, incompetent company. Go anywhere but here.
Would not recommend!
Would not recommend!! They "chiseled" the drain plug out of my daughters car, ultimately leading to enough damage that replacing the oil pan was the only solution to resolving the oil leak from the damage they caused! The oil change was $170, and the replacement of the oil pan was $1000. They refused to stand behind the damage they caused even after us taking the vehicle to a mechanic and having documentation as to what caused the damage/leak. Taking it to a mechanic was suggested by their customer service department in order to get documentation to prove they were at fault. We even still have the damaged oil pan as evidence. Since the repairs and provided documentation, I have contacted their customer service several times in an attempt to get an explanation as to why they denied the claim. They only "leave messages or email" the "area manager " to contact me, which still has not happened after one month! I even emailed the area manager myself, asking for an explanation with no response! I spoke to the area manager once in person prior to taking it to a mechanic, and he mentioned the possibility of the vehicle running over something prior, which jammed the plug. Per the mechanic we took it to, there is NO evidence of the car running over anything, and again, we have the pan as evidence. The area manager also suggested we connect with the facility that did our prior oil change, which is quite funny because it turns out it was Valvoline! We have also made attempts to connect with the area manager again at the facility, which has only resulted in speaking to RUDE "managers" who won't listen or assist in any way. At one point, they told my husband, "it won't do you any good going above us". We would like to be reimbursed for the oil change and repairs needed from the damage they caused, but even a simple return call with an explanation as to why they are denying the claim would be the courteous and right thing to do and this has not happened! I am a leader in my profession and know the importance of service recovery and connecting with your customers. Their system is lacking, and we will not return!
Dishonest Valvoline
My son bought Group On coupons for an oil change at Valvoline in Stafford, VA. AFTER the oil was changed the Valvoline representative said their store was not a store that accepted the Group On coupons. It clearly states on Group On that this facility DID accept the coupon. The oil change cost $113.00. He could have gone to Pep Boys for $110 oil change and got new windshield wipers and tires rotated. The management at Valvoline would not even reimburse me the $32 difference from the Group On coupon! Would NEVER go to this facility again.
Dishonest Price Gougers
I went here to get an oil change. The regular place I go to got a lot more expensive and and I would also have to wait. I was able to get in right away. The guy who helped me was really nice, but talked ridiculously fast. Multiples time I had to ask him to repeat himself. At one point he checked my cabin filter which was really dirty. He said it was $15.99 and he'd throw in a 15% discount. Because he talked so fast I wasn't 100% sure of the price. I ask him to repeat himself and again I heard $15.99. I told him to gho ahead. After I got the bill it turned out to be $59.99. I explained to him what happened. He said he sometimes talks fast and is hard to understand and he'd take care in the future. I should have had him remove it but I needed the filter. I falsely assumed they were honest and that was a typical price for a cabin filter. I said I'd pay for it. A decent place would have at least given me a larger discount. When I got home I searched for air filters and found the same one for under $20 and could find other brands (probably better quality) for close to $10. You might think it's because of installation costs. It took him less than 60 seconds to take it out less than 60 second to install the new one. This is just plain and simple price gouging
I know it's my fault for trusting them and not having them take it out. I thought I found a new place for oil changes and other maintenance. Now I'll never go back to any Valvoline Instant Oil Change. It hit me later why he talks so fast. You are not a customer that they care about. They want your money and then you can go. They need you out as quick as possible to get to next victim in line
I submitted a complaint on the main website and they gave me a discount for a future oil change that was less then the one I used this time. Like I'd want to go back anyway. Another slap in the face by a company who doesn't care about it's customers.
Waste of Time and Screwjob
I went there yesterday in mid afternoon. the three bays were full and one other car was there outside before me. After waiting twenty-five minutes, nice worker came over to me and said that two vehicles were corporate accounts and would be there for a long while. I was not overly upset except for the fact that they could have told me twenty minutes before. When I showed the man the online coupon for 50% off, eh said they would honor it tody. The coupon disappeared and I chatted and called and got no help.
I will never be a customer of theses shady scumbags again.
Do I have to give them a star They are…
Do I have to give them a star They are lousy they don't top off your fluids but they try to find something wrong with the car so they can fix it at an over inflated price just as they're oil change price they have a bunch of unprofessional people that aren't mechanics wanting to fix items on your car when I went several ghetto acting individuals playing around it's better to go to a reputable place to get your oil change it it will most likely be less and they check your other fluids

Took my 2020 Hyundai Tucson in for an oil change. They didn't put oil back in my car, causing damage to my engine. I called valvoline's corporate office to file a complaint, and for something to be do to settle situation. Complaint was forwarded to manager of the location on Goodman Road in Southaven Ms. The manager called, was very rude. Talking over me, and loud talking me. I told him I'm terminating the call, to keep myself from responding back in anger. He closed the case without notification from him or corporate. I found out they closed the case four days later. I found that out when I called back to Valvoline's corporate office. Next step, I will be reporting to BBB, and get legal assistance.
