Not getting warranty coverage Worst cuscustomer service and very poor brand
Worst customer service and appliance from this brand is very poor quality. Need more and more maintenance. I spoke to supervisor name Katie didn’t try to help she was just trying to make me to buy their product instead of helping with existing product that I bought just before one year. I bought brand new and it has manufacturer defects and I have to throw in garbage just after 14 months of use.
1 star is too many
Currently on hold with whirlpool......
I purchased a new Maytag washer 3 months ago. It quit working 3 weeks ago. The serviceman originally came and told us he needed parts. It would be about a week. Fair enough. They never called back so I called them after a week. The woman said they ordered the parts that morning and it would be another week. A week later the technician comes back to our house. He installs the new motherboard and some kind of a harness. He said the new motherboard was no good out of the box. Puts the old one back in and puts the washer on rinse. Says its fixed and leaves. My water sensor alarm went off shortly after. (The technician installed some other piece with the motherboard and it leaked because he didnt put it on correctly). He came back, fixed the leak and said he didnt know what was wrong with the washer. He said he would call whirlpool and get back to us. He didnt call back.
While the technician was working on the washer he put a large dent in our dryer. This guy is huge and he was climbing over our dryer to get to the back of the washer. I called their office the next day. The woman who answered was quite rude and said they were ordering parts( I havent told them about the damage yet) and she made an appointment for 2 weeks from that day.
I called whirlpool and spoke with a supervisor who said they would look into the issues and call me back. It has been a week and no call back. ( still on hold here ...33 minutes so far) . I give up. I am going to town and buying a new washer (not whirlpool) to replace our new washer. We cant go indefinitely without a washing machine. I have no faith in the local repair shop or whirlpool to get this fixed in a timely fashion.
Update - 44 minutes on hold. For the last 10 minutes they say my estimated wait time is 1 minute about every minute or so...... :|
Worst Dishwashers
Home depot purchase of Whirlpool dishwasher. Only lasted 15 months before board blew. Whirlpool canada unresponsive and also directs you to a number where you are put on hold for eternity. No recourse , no service, pass the buck . Do not buy appliances from this company!
poor quality/no customer service under warranty
Washer broke down in less than a year (ie, poor quality). Although under warranty, the customer service experience has been horrible. Long waits to get a hold of someone; no call backs as promised; no timeline on repair time, etc. How disappointing from a brand name product.
Terrible
Terrible. It took longer >30 days to fix a dryer which broke after 4 years. Maytag washer and dryer. There was a sticker on the machine stating 10-year warranty. BS. It's broken numerous times. They don't care. They don't provide service. Avoid Whirlpool and their products including Maytag at all cost.

6 years ago we purchased a Whirlpool appliance package. The electric range is now at the dump. The oven quit working accurately and the stove elements were becoming unpredictable. The guy to fix it couldn’t. Model # YWFE550S0HZO electric with convection
Stay away from Whirlpool
I have a whirlpool washer from June 2022 model WFW6620HC3. For the last 8 months it has been leaking during the clean wash cycle. When the last technician came out he determined it was sudsing from the vent area. My dad and sister have the same machine (purchased a few years earlier and they have suds in the machine during the wash cycle, yet no leaks. In fact, my dads often has suds left in the drum after the cycle has complete and no leaks!) My other sister has an LG washer that produces suds on the clean washer cycle and she doesn't have any leaks from her machine either. He stated this was most likely because whirlpool changed the design in the vent for my model. This is very poor/flawed design. When he called to speak with an agent from whirlpool he explained that I use HE liquid detergent (tide and ivory snow) and for large loads I measure to 1 on the cup and for small/medium loads I use less than 1. I measure half way up to 1 and I run the cycle every 30 washes when the clean washer light comes on. Clearly, this is not due to too much detergent being used, yet that is what the whirlpool agent said. I use significantly less than what is instructed on the detergent bottle. It is unacceptable to place blame on the customer when this is a poor/flawed design. The leak damaged my flooring underneath. These models should be recalled and replaced. I would also like to point out, the amount of detergent use is not stated in the manual. It's also not stated that leaks can occur due to this problem in the trouble shooting section. Very poor on Whirlpool to place blame on the customer instead of taking accountability for a poorly designed washer.
Stove Convection Bake Warranty Issue
We purchased our Whirlpool stove a little over two years ago. Around 14-15 months after purchase—just outside the standard one-year warranty—we tried the convection bake and air fry features for the first time, and we began experiencing a loud 'tinging' noise from the fan. At that time, Whirlpool acknowledged the issue as a likely manufacturing defect and kindly assisted us with a repair, despite the warranty having technically expired (which we greatly appreciated).
Unfortunately, the same issue has now returned. While we use the convection feature infrequently, the problem has reappeared in the exact same way, indicating that the original defect was never fully resolved. Despite this being a continuation of a known issue, Whirlpool has declined to provide further support, citing that the product is now out of warranty.
This is extremely disappointing. We acted in good faith, reported the issue promptly, and accepted the initial repair as a resolution. It is clear now that the problem was not adequately addressed, and we are left with a recurring defect in a product we expected to last much longer.
I believe Whirlpool should stand behind its products and take responsibility for known manufacturing issues, regardless of arbitrary warranty timelines. They should offer a resolution that reflects the quality and integrity that their brand is known and paid for.
Whirlpool 4 door Refrigerator Good Design, Poor function and service!
I recently purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRQ7A59CNKZ, for a total price of $2400, including taxes. It's a beautiful 4-door stainless steel fridge, but unfortunately, the ice maker hasn't worked since it was delivered. Despite following all troubleshooting steps, including resetting and unplugging the fridge multiple times, the ice maker only produced one tray of ice before failing again. The fridge seems to be trying to pull water into the ice tray, but it never succeeds.
I've contacted Whirlpool three times to arrange for a technician to service the fridge, but no one has reached out or shown up. I love the layout and style of the fridge and would like to keep it, but I paid for a fully functional appliance, including the ice maker. Given that I live 3.5 hours away from where it was purchased, returning it would be very inconvenient. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of support for a brand-new, defective fridge.
I was advised to call back in 48 hours if I don't hear from anyone, which means I'll likely be making a fourth call soon. A bit ironic considering Whirlpool's slogan is "Every Day Care."!!
DO NOT BUY FROM WIRLPOOL ought a washer/ dryer (both in one…
Bought a washer/ dryer (both in one machine). Every time I use it, it breaks down. Technician has been here 10 times in the first year and sits broken as I write this.
Whirlpool sold me a piece of crap and refuses to refund the $2500 we paid for machine. Whirlpool does not care about customer customer satisfaction. I have no choice but to take this to the dump when warranty runs out at end of month and will have to buy something else. I would give them no stars if that was an option.
Product Quality
I purchased an 11.6 Whirlpool fridge at Costco in March 23 and in May 24 it stopped working. A technician came and said that model has this problem and they need to replace a part. He returned and replaced the part and said this would never happen again.
Less than a year later, I have the same problem one month after warranty expired. Whirlpool agent said it's a machine and machines break down. He offered a 1 year warranty for $345 to repair. As this has happened twice in approximate 1 year intervals, I would have to repurchase on an annual basis.
If this is a defective item, can they not fix the issue rather than sell these products?
Frustrating Experience – Poor Product Quality & No Accountability
I normally don’t write negative reviews—almost all my reviews are positive. But after this experience, I felt I had no choice.
I purchased a Whirlpool Stove (Model: YWFES5030RZ) from The Brick’s online store, and it was delivered on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Once unboxed, we noticed the bottom drawer was misaligned and the oven door had an uneven gap—wider on the right side than the left. Clearly cosmetic defects.
I checked The Brick’s website and saw that product defects within the first year are covered by the manufacturer, so I tried calling Whirlpool. No response—it was Sunday. I also called The Brick store, but no one answered. The following day, I reached Whirlpool, and they scheduled a technician visit for Tuesday, April 8.
The technician arrived, tried for about 20 minutes, but couldn’t fix either issue. He admitted the drawer was flimsy and said he’d report his findings to Whirlpool. After he left, I contacted The Brick via online chat, sent photos, and was told to wait for the technician’s report before any action could be taken.
On April 9, I called Whirlpool to follow up. I was shocked to hear that the technician reported both issues as resolved. I explained that nothing had been fixed, but the rep insisted their notes were correct. I asked to speak to a supervisor, who agreed to send a second technician—but warned that if no issue was found, I’d be charged. Completely unacceptable.
The second technician came on Thursday, April 10, and immediately said, “This is how it’s designed—you bought a lower-end model.” I had no idea this was considered a “lower-end” product, but even so, I expect a new appliance to meet basic quality standards. He also took photos and told me to follow up with Whirlpool again.
By this point, I contacted The Brick store directly. After multiple calls, I reached someone who genuinely listened and assured me they’d try to help if Whirlpool didn’t resolve it.
On April 11, I called Whirlpool again. They confirmed the second technician’s report said “functioning as designed.” I reiterated that this wasn’t a functional issue—it was cosmetic. I even sent photos again, but the rep said she couldn’t see the problem and dismissed my concern, telling me “thousands of people have this model and don’t complain.” When I said The Brick needed a report from Whirlpool to proceed, she said they couldn’t provide one and that The Brick should speak with their Whirlpool rep. No ownership, no help.
Frustrated, I called The Brick again. This time I spoke to a different rep who told me they couldn’t do anything unless Whirlpool authorized it. I explained how I’ve been bounced between the two companies with no solution. His response: “Well, sir, it’s not 30 years ago.” That says it all. He kept quoting their policy to me!
I told him I would leave negative reviews and even contact CBC Go Public. He said, “That’s your prerogative.”
All I wanted was a properly functioning, cosmetically clean stove—or a replacement. I paid $1,461. I’m not asking for anything unreasonable.
My advice: Buy your appliances from a company that actually supports its customers. I should have bought from Costco. Instead, I got stuck with a flawed product and two companies pointing fingers at each other and me. Buyer beware.

I am sharing this review to help other customers decide whether to purchase Whirlpool products. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with Whirlpool's lack of support. I was informed that the washer and dryer are not covered under the warranty because the issue is considered cosmetic, despite the fact that the white appliances are turning yellow. Neither The Brick East End Store nor Whirlpool is taking accountability for resolving the issue. Their justification is that it falls outside the warranty, even though it is clearly a manufacturer's defect. I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to get this issue resolved with no satisfactory response.
Fridge failure
The fridge delivered Feb 20, 2025 died after 5 days. The lights are on, a motor is running but no cooling. Lost the contents of the fridge and freezer. Whirlpool does not compensate you for loss of contents NOR the inconvenience of being without a fridge for 3 weeks and counting... Whirlpool will not replace it. AS of March 16, 2025... waiting for parts.
I am about to receive my 3rd oven

Whirlpool
YWFES7530RV:
The second oven i received takes over 20 minutes to boil a 2L pot of water. If the stove is on and preheat oven at same Time, will take over 30min to preheat to 400F .
Customer service is not very accessible. On hold for an hour at Times , when you do reach someone and if they need to put u on hold while they investigate ur situation , your call can be dropped if they Forget about you. Necessary to continuàly follow up with them on whats happening. They will Never call u and give updates, presumably because they are too overloaded with other customers product problems .
My advice to anyone buying home appliances: Save your money and buy used , or restaurant grade if you can afford it.

I bought an Amanda clothes washer 2024 11 04
Not happy immediately as it was very noisy, vibrated, and was erratic in mode changes.
An appointment was scheduled by Calgary sales staff - required waiting from 0800 to 1700 for technician.
When they arrived the only thing they did was to level machine.
Next use - no change so I called Whirpool service - very poor attitude no compassion no flexibility - booked for Jan 5.
On Jan 5 a technician called to book an appointment for Jan 9 again a 0800 to 1700 possible arrival. Upon arrival did nothing - no tools no diagnostics. Advised me that this was a noisy design and vibrated due to design.
Next I received billing for Dec 24th visit $157.00.
Phoned Whirpool - no cooperation or interest except to say this was a diagnostic call and not warranty.
Advised the I would not pay - was threatened with collection.
After further discussion with a “supervisor” they offered a 35% discount on a more expensive washer.
Bottom line I will not deal with this company again and would see them in court.
The WORST customer service in the world
I bought Maytag dishwasher for $1240 with 4 years extended warranty. Transaction did not go through. I called customer service and they asked to place transaction again. As result both transactions were processed and delivery guys brought two identical dishwashers. I received one and asked to return the second. It took me almost two months, five phone calls and more than two hours of conversations with the WORST customer service to get a partial refund of $966 for dishwasher only. Extended warranty which costs $274 was not refunded yet. Whirlpool customer service agent Alexandra promised me twice to call me back and did not do this. Eventually I disputed MasterCard transaction and they issued full refund immediately.
Whirlpool Buyers Beware
Although the Whirlpool fridge that we purchased in Canada was defective in that the freezer temperature fluctuated so widely that it regularly increased to levels that are unsafe for meat, as was the case with two other fridges from Whirlpool, the purpose of this review is to highlight the very poor customer service that we received from Whirlpool and the barriers in escalating our concerns to the Corporate Office.
Regarding the Corporate Office, before anyone purchases a Whirlpool product, they should be aware that Customer Service states that they have no access to the Corporate Office and that customers have to contact this office on their own. However, the Corporate Office does not take phone calls. Instead, one has to write a letter to them. I did this on October 26, 2024 but as of January 3, 2025, no one has responded to my letter.
Based on my experience, it appears that the corporate leadership at Whirlpool has no interest in their customers and makes it very difficult for customers to reach them. Buyers should beware of this before they purchase a Whirlpool product.
I should add that since the problem we had with this fridge was present in two other fridges, this raises a serious concern in my mind about quality control at Whirlpool. Again, buyers beware.
Buy a lemon
Buy a lemon, make lemonade? Not if the lemonade stand is rotten. Worst experience ever.
Extremely poor customer service
I contacted WP to inquire about an issue we have been having with our washing machine not "heating up" the water. We have a front loading model with a cold water inlet only. I struggled finding any reference to an internal heater, and managed to find one in the User Manual under specs as "Internal Heater : YES".
This interaction was a total waste of time, the agent didn't know WP's product and fell to provide any information to help resolve the issue.
Long version
I spent 20 minutes on the line for a CS rep.. I explained the issue to the rep., until the line cutoff. I had to call CS again and wait an other 20 minutes. The second rep was bad.
She was surprised that they even produced a "one inlet" machine, and referred me to the manual... I mentioned that I already reviewed the manual, read it entirely, and that only found that one mention.
After describing the issue for a second time, she simply replied "well, it's by design" and only a technician will be able to confirm if the heater is working. I have then ask if she could confirm if there was anything that as to be turned on when first setting up the washer. She replied to "read the user manual", adding that "I refused she send it to me"... to which I responded that I already have it, and that it doesn't cover the heating of water... she reiterated that "it's by design, Sir...". To which I responded "Not working as it should by design?"
