All Three Appliances Failed

I had all three kitchen appliances fail within 2 years. The only response I got from Whirlpool was, "you should have gotten the extended warranty". I have it in writing. I shouldn't have to. They should spend that extra money themselves, and make more reliable products. Their warranty does not cover my spoiled food, unnecessary time off work, or disruption to a household. Thy got my money this time, but next time, I will take my chances with a different parent company.

This dishwasher is a design flaw…

This dishwasher is a design flaw nightmare. The electronic panel on the top is susceptible to moisture getting in and DESTROYING the panel and the dishwasher's ability to function. The seal around the dishwasher is inadequate (also a design flaw according to the technician that served it) causing leaking steam that has irreparably damaged our wooden counter (Thanks Whirlpool). I would not only never buy this dishwasher again. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. Period.

KitchenAid 42" Built-in Fridge... Don't do it, Don't do it, Don't do it!

We bought a KitchenAid 42" built-in fridge, which is over $11,000 pre-tax. My advice... "don't do it, don't do it, don't do it... You will rue the day you bought it"!

Less than 6-months in, and it broke. First the freezer, and then the fridge by the next day. We called Whirlpool for warranty support, and the best they could do was to send out somebody 5 days later. Tech shows up, looks at some frost, and thinks it's the evaporator. They're backordered, but can get it shipped from the USA where they have 13 in stock, and it will take 2 weeks.

In what world does it take 2 weeks to ship parts within North America! I had a car that needed a new transmission, and GM flew one into the dealer in under 48 hours from the USA to Canada. Whirlpool could take a lesson from the auto industry.

Anyway, the evaporator arrives at the tech, but I don't get a call. I call Whirlpool, who reaches out to the tech, and they schedule him for 6 days later. We're now 3 weeks without a working fridge.

Tech arrives, and right away, no longer thinks it's the evaporator, and doesn't install it. Says, it might just be a sensor, so we should "try that and see". Says it's a $13 part that's in stock locally. Maybe, he should have started with that!

I called Whirlpool again, 4 days after the tech last on site said he ordered the most recent round parts for the fridge, which he said were in stock and he could fix it this week when they arrive. I wanted an update, as nobody had called me, so the Whirlpool rep put me on hold to contact the tech. She came back, and said the tech asked her if she could order the parts for him, which she did, and will take another 5 business days! So, if the tech ordered them 4 days ago, why did he need to ask Whirlpool to order them today, only after I had Whirlpool follow up?

To call this total incompetence would be a tragic understatement. I'll update review, or leave another, with the next development, which will hopefully be soon, and hopefully positive.

Whirlpool self cleaning range with air fryer

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave, refrigerator and a range with self cleaning oven and air fryer in August 2024. I ran the oven’s self clean feature on October 25th for 4 1/2 hours. When I went back to see if this had worked and wipe it out, I was appalled. There was cooking residue on the walls, the door and at the front near the door. I have had experiences with 2 older self cleaning ovens and after I ran the cleaning cycle all there was left was a whitish ash which I was able to wipe up with a moist cloth. These ovens however were GE not Whirlpool. I contacted customer service and was told to run the cleaning cycle again for 2 1/2 hours. I did this but the dirt was still there. I contacted customer service again and they are sending a technician over to check it out next week. Now the food has been through 2 clean cycles I don’t know how I will remove it as the food looks pretty baked on and I can’t use oven cleaner or I may damage the surface. If I wanted to clean ovens I would have bought an easy clean oven. So far the microwave and the fridge are working okay.
The technician came today and said he would adjust the gasket on the door but he also explained that the new stoves don’t get as hot as they used to. The fact that the oven would not come clean was not relayed to me at time of purchase. I am utterly dissatisfied with this product. Now it will be a call back to Whirlpool to argue it out.
Called Whirlpool and was told that they had to wait for the tech report to appear in my complaint. I called Whirlpool two days later and was told that the technician’s report stated that the range was working according specs. I guess this means that the oven self cleaning feature will not clean your oven even though it is called self clean. I was then told to go to the dealer where I bought the range to ask about their performance guarantee. Why should they guarantee a product when they didn’t make it? I will not let this drop. It’s time these mega companies stopped ripping consumers off for the sake of their shareholders. On Jan 6, 2025 I called Whirlpool again and was told that a senior tech would come and replace the motherboard and sensor. On Jan 13th the tech came and replaced the parts. He told me to preheat the oven to a high temperature and then run the self clean option. I did as he said and ran the cycle for 4 1/2 hrs. I bet the power corporations just love these new appliances. There was no change - oven was still dirty. On Jan 24 I called Whirlpool again and now they are going to send me an aqua cleaning kit which I am still waiting for. I will use it but won’t hold my breath. In any case I will not get a refund because the 2 technicians said that the range was working as designed. I don’t understand how a range is working as designed when it was designed to self clean (as stated in the manual) but doesn’t. I will probably end up selling it for practically nothing and buying a GE range based on my past experiences.

Scammers

Scammers! Unqualified technicians and absolutely careless. The guy who came to fix my KA refrigerator doesn't know a thing. He changed the motherboard for $500 (with labour) now telling need to change compressor which I told him to change at the first place! So there will be another $500 labour!!!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Not only did the agent I spoke with sound like they hated their job, the company deemed my outer door glass on my range, that shattered on its own, no heat, no gas hooked up, didn’t get hit, not a safety issue because it was not in use! When if a young child had have been near it and been injured. There is no just replacement glass, I have to purchase a whole new door for $800. They didn’t even offer to help compensate me not even a discount nothing. Just nope we aren’t paying but I can set you up with service. No thanks!

Dreadful Customer Service

Really awful disrespectful customer service. We will never buy a Whirlpool product again. The warranty is essentially worthless. The frontline staff pretty much serve as gatekeepers to prevent assistance. After 4 months of our patient, cooperative attempts to resolve our defective dishwasher (under warranty), we will likely give up and purchase a new different brand. Honestly, life's too short to deal with this dreadful company and the company they contract to do the repairs who have proved equally useless. We feel disrespected, talked down to, and frankly exhausted by the whole experience.

Whirlpool is Horrible

On June 19th, 2024, I called Whirlpool because my new refrigerator completely stopped working. They said that the warranty period had expired. Nevertheless, the specific model of fridge I bought was reported as having serious problems. In other words, the fridge was defective from the beginning. Whirlpool said that they would send a repairman on June 24th. I told them that five days was a long time to go without a fridge, but I agreed. When the repairman came on June 24th, he informed me that he did not bring the necessary parts and would need to order them. He returned on June 27th (eight days after my original call). After three hours of work on the 27th, the repairman declared that the fridge was repaired. However, a few hours after he left, I realized he had lied to me. The fridge still had no cooling capacity. I called Whirlpool back. They scheduled yet another repairman for July 10th. They told me that if this repairman did not fix the fridge, I would very likely get a new fridge. The new repairman came on July 10th, but he also failed to repair the fridge. I have been without a fridge for three weeks. I called Whirlpool to complain. You won't believe what the lady I talked to said. She said that she would give me a 30% discount on a new Whirlpool fridge to compensate me for my trouble. After putting me through hell for three weeks, this horrid company did not even have the decency to offer me a new fridge. Whirlpool is a horrible company that does not care about its customers: horrible products, horrible people, and horrible customer service. I am seriously contemplating hiring a lawyer for the emotional distress I endured as a result of this experience. It's not about money anymore. It's about justice. Expect a YouTube video very soon. I'm also going to contact the CBC to see if they will interview me about this experience with Whirlpool.

WARNING DO NOT BUY . If I could choose no stars I wouldw

If I could choose no stars I would. Spent almost $2000, on the newest washer and dryer with all bells and whistles. Within 3 months oil started showing g up on clothing (which took at least 4-6 washes to get out) . I thought maybe I was using a product which caused it but after changing everything it still appeared. I then called company I got it from they changed the transmission in the washer. Then the dryer stopped blowing hot air. That was fixed, then washer went again. I did not get extended warranty as this was supposed to be a good company. I fought with whirlpool directly and they finally fixed washer at no cost. This was 1 week after warranty was done. Now the washer is making a horrible sound and will come out of pocket to fix. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
THEY ARE NOT OF THE SAME QUALITY AS YEARS AGO.

I fix my own appliance and I noticed a…

I fix my own appliance and I noticed a huge decline in quality across all brand I recently purchase. Whirlpool has to be mentioned, there a class action ongoing about that. Strategically put bad quality component and oddly programed circuit board. My Maytag Commercial Washing machine often wont start, I have to unplug it from the wall to get it to work again, it's only 3 months old. They have monopoly of sort, because they own so many brand name. They do this, to increase unit sale. If you call service they say it's done like this because of environmental law. The should be sued for that too, because so many new unit are going in the trash after just a few months. Water of washing machine has to be drained out with the soap if you change setting a bit, water level or water temperature. Wasting water and polluting the environnements with extra soap. They call them smart appliance but in reality they are less smart than 30 years ago. Evil Corp Whirlpool is playing dumb.

DO NOT PURCHASE WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS I WARNED YOU.

Whirlpool or any affiliated brand will be removed from my list for any future appliance purchase. I am completely shocked how they handled my complaint. We purchased a wall unit at Home Depot, and we saw this on the wall displayed before we purchased it. The display model looked great, no issues, everything was level and clean. When we installed the unit from the box, we noticed that the door when you close it at a normal speed, it jumps a bit on one side as if it is going over a detent. After looking closely, you could clearly see it was an issue with the door. There was a 1/4" difference from one side to the other and it was really noticeable. This happens when you close the door at a normal speed, if you slowly close it as if you are sneaking up on someone then it isn't as large of a gap, but it is still noticeable. I called Whirlpool and the first tech they send out I could swear he was the Amazon delivery driver. His tools looked completely unused, and he just looked at what I showed him and said it was normal and left. Whirlpool closed the case so I called them back and sent them pictures and they sent a different tech out and this time this tech said he will change the door hinge on one side. He left, put the order in and I patiently waited. I called Whirlpool after 2 months since I did not hear from them, and they told me the WO was closed because it was already fixed. I explained to Whirlpool nothing was fixed and it needs to be fixed. Whirlpool reordered the part and now sent over a different technician. The hinge was replaced but the problem still persisted. This tech now said it was cosmetic and that's how Whirlpool is now leaving it with me even after their own tech support wrote in the notes that this is an issue and not cosmetic. I now have a wall oven I paid over $1400 for that looks like its broken in my wall and Whirlpool refuses to fix it. My next step is returning this unit to Hime Depot since that is the place where I purchased it. DO NOT PURCHASE WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS I WARNED YOU.

Before you buy any appliances

Before you buy any appliances, call their customer service. I have a Whirlpool european style washer and dryer set. Both have been serviced under warranty. Service is backed up with calls so you will have to wait. My dryer does not work again!
Whirlpool‘s website says that you can call them and get troubleshooting advice. First phone call, helpful advice, and I was directed to YouTube video. However, that didn’t work. I called back two more times and both calls were a complete mess. The first time I was put on hold and then there was a garbled message that I couldn’t understand so I hung up. I called again and they said they couldn’t provide troubleshooting over the phone. I also tried the chat twice, but that was no help. I would gladly sell my washer and dryer back to whirlpool at a loss. Very disappointed with Whirlpool.

Whirlpool does not honor their warrenty

I purchase 1.1 cu ft low profile microwave hood combination in October 2020. It was professional installed and install to the recommended heigh. After a year the door on the microwave started to crackup and pieces started falling off the microwave. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent the installer back and replace the door on the mircowave. The installer also checked to make sure that it was installed correctly. After another year the door started cracking up again. Whirlpool would not replace the door this time and said it was cosmetic damage. The product did not stand up to regular use nor would Whirlpool honor their warranty. This microwave cost me $632.00. With this experience I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

Do not buy Whirlpool period!

Bought a fridge, had to wait 5 weeks, so that's fine. Fridge finally arrived, and didn't work, the lights didn't work. The only thing cold is the freezer. Waited 1 week and called Whirlpool, they sent a technician two days later, he couldn't fix it, so waited another 2 days for a 2nd technician, again, he couldn't fix it. Talked to Manager from Whirlpool, he said that we have to wait another 5 weeks for a new fridge! Tired of not having a fridge at this point. So we asked for a full refund, he could only give us a partial refund and now we're stuck with a broken fridge that we are now responsible for disposing. They're not even picking it up!!! All in all, really bad customer service, they wasted our time waiting 7 weeks without a fridge and now we even lost some money from this horrible, horrible, horrible experience. We no longer trust this brand.

Whirlpool terrible customer service and poor quality

We bought a new refrigerator and it arrived DOA, it lit up but didn't cool. After calls to the store where we bought it and then to Whirlpool "customer care" (a joke on it's own), a technician came. He said that some wiring was reversed at the factory and was able to get it working. We asked if we could change direction of the door and he said a tool was supposed to be included with the fridge but he couldn't find it. He said he would order it and then we could easily do it ourselves. Fast forward 2 months and on a call with Whirlpool once again they said there is no note of that request and that this was an extra part to order. Sorry and too bad.

VSC3635022 WORST FRIDGE:

To anyone that is considering buying a Maytag from Whirlpool PLEASE reconsider it again I have has the worst experience with them got a product October 2023 have had nothing but headaches with it. They continue to send me a repair person here now the product has failed again I have no running fridge whatsoever. They’re expecting me to wait for the part for 3 to 4 weeks. They expect me to go without a fridge for that long and they’re willing to give me $100 credit to buy a small fridge. This is the worst Customer Service I have ever dealt with please for your sake and your sake of your
sanity. Do not buy a product from Whirlpool or Maytag because they are the same company. It has been the worst experience that I have dealt with with this company. The product is not even one year old. It has had four repairs and they still will not issue me a refund for this product , what is wrong with our world that the company does not care about the customer 😡
