Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 169 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently report significant delays and non-delivery of their orders, with items often getting stuck at depots or never arriving, sometimes even being delivered to incorrect addresses. Reviewers also encountered issues with packages marked as delivered when they had not been received, alongside unhelpful customer service and unreliable tracking that provided little to no updates. However, some customers noted positive experiences, with items arriving quickly and in good condition, and appreciated helpful delivery personnel who handled parcels with care.

Big problems with new orders

Big problems with July orders from rarewaves website. Got a refund today for one order. Tracking been stuck at scheduled for collection for 9+ days. Another order also seems to have issues. Massive delays at the moment or someone not scanning them and just taking them? Crazy stuff.
I gave 2 because they were doing fine till July it seems

Earth Calling Whistl...

Earth Calling Whistl...you've had my package since 15th July, WHERE are you? I seriously thought you were a courier company NOT a safe-deposit box! I phone and you swivel to the manufacturer when it's plainly your fault; mind you they're (Thimble Co, Leicester) are just as bad and won't answer the piggin' phone Tommy. Tosspots, one and all.

How are they still in business?

Recently I ordered a few DVDs off of Ebay (Music Magpie) and was excited to receive everything within three days ... only for none of it to have arrived even weeks later. The craziest part is that my parcel was noted as having been delivered, but the delivery code they gave me was for my neighbour's own, entirely different order. I filed a report with Ebay after a week with no update from Whistl, and I'm grateful to say I was issued a full refund, but I've now learned to avoid companies using Whistl, especially since this type of thing is apparently common with them. I'm questioning if my package will randomly turn up one day, and that - and the worry of the situation repeating itself - has put me off from reordering what I wanted in the first place.

Possibly the worst delivery company on…

Possibly the worst delivery company on the planet!

3 out of 4 recent (in the last 2 months) deliveries not received and musicMagpie customer service have told me categorically that it is 100% due to this useless courier loosing all their packages!

One might wonder, with such a bad record, why MM would continue to use them… but they do!!

They apparently ship the items straight from their warehouse in good time but then I’m left for weeks with no tracking update and all I see when I check is “collection scheduled”, nothing else… EVER!

After 2 weeks or more of waiting for “unexpected delays” musicMagpie then kindly refund me my own money (which they just hold onto for fun in the meantime) but what a complete waste of time the whole thing is for me (the customer) and I do wonder where do all these goods end up going when this courier picks them up - someone is getting off with a whole load of valuable goods somewhere if what MM are saying is true! Disgusting!

DO NOT USE!

Pot luck when anything gets delivered

Pot luck when anything gets delivered. No emails. The courier they hand off to then attempts delivery on the wrong day and of course I'm not in. I immediately stop using a supplier if I can get the product from someone else who doesn't use them, even at a premium. Last time I paid the supplier Elixir garden supplies £11 delivery and I'm having to pick the item up myself 3 days late.

Poor tracking information

No issues with the delivery itself. However the tracking available on their website is limited. If you use parcels apps website it provides better tracking for you and shows which courier service is delivering the parcel as well as estimated time

Over the last month or so…

Over the last month or so several Whistl parcels have either not arrived at all or taken over 4 weeks to reach me. Their tracking is dishonest and inconsistent - Ebay sellers are apparently being told things have been delivered even while Whistl's own website shows that they have not. This, of course also makes it harder for the purchaser to claim a refund as sellers are arguing in good faith that the items have arrived when they have not. One that did arrive looked as though it had been ripped open by wolves, the contents obviously damaged and yet they just left it on the doorstep making it my problem. If I could, I would never buy from anyone who uses Whistl to ship goods but, unfortunately, you don't always know.

SW1 area issues

Yesterday a Sunday three envelopes were found in a communal area of my building and a friend brought them to me, they were not delivered correctly by Whistl. I have recently had other packages that people have found and even missing packages marked as delivered. If items are left unattended in busy areas and not delivered to the actual door or safe place, then they will obviously be at risk of theft. Please let drivers know this and maybe give them some extra training so that they understand that leaving packages in doorways and communal areas is just not safe and it is unacceptable for a delivery company to act in this way.

I have been waiting a delivery of…

I have been waiting a delivery of plants. I have been tracking their journey. They started their journey on the 02/07/25 and on the 5th they were in Llandudno, remained there until the 9th when they started the journey to Warrington which as I live on Anglesey is the opposite direction! They remained in transit until the 13th where they were on their way to be delivered from Warrington! Even if they get here now the will be shrivelled and dead as we are now in the middle of a heatwave! Well done great service! 🤬

Actually received a delivery from…

Actually received a delivery from Whistl today. After a dozen failures I did receive my package. So why only 2 stars ? The delivery was made by a group of girl-racers, revving their car, stereo blaring at an unacceptably anti-social volume. I thought it was local hoodlums but lo and behold, the delinquents brought my Amazon Marketplace order. Surely not all Whistl deliveries are delivered in this manner ?

No delivery alert

No delivery alert, no card to say it has been delivered to our safe place where it's been sitting for 2 days!

Useless.

Yodel got my parcel yesterday from the seller for a 24 hour next day delivery. They gave it to Whistl Bristol who have then taken it two hours north to their sorting office (twice according to the tracking) when my house is an hour east. It says 'arriving today' according to Yodel - but they are clearly overestimating Whistl's abilities as it is 10pm and it is apparently still at the sorting office (for a second time). So much for next day delivery - absolutely useless.

As useless as Evri

I have a large sign on my door stating to leave parcels in the shed. Whistl drivers are obviously deeply stupid and/or deeply lazy. Just left the parcel on my doorstep in the rain. People like this should be sacked. I'll be making sure any sellers I need to deal with aren't using such an incompetent company like Whistl which obviously lack any understanding of accountability.

Not worth a rating of 1 this company a rating…

If I could give this company a rating of less than 1 I would.
I received an order today 24th June 2025 that was sent 19th June 2025 from Thompson and Morgan, and after opening the box I found 1 plant dead and the other was nearly dead, but having tried to revive the plants I had no luck.
I know that we experienced a heat wave at the end of the last week, but 5 days to deliver live plants is too long to survive without water.
I do not understand why such a reputable grower uses such a bad delivery company, and in future I would not order goods from a company that uses whistl to deliver.

DO NOT USE!!!

DO NOT USE!!!
Ordered a chest of drawers through Amazon. Ordered on 14th June 2025, Delivery for 20th to 23rd June 2025. Seller informed me item had been shipped on 17th June 2025. Whistl tracking number informs me collection on 17th June 2025. Drawers were kept by Whistl for 1 whole week. Delivery 20th to 23rd June never happened. Amazon now tell me sorry for delay, drawers will not arrive until 26th June now.
This company Whistl is unreliable and did not even make contact over delay. On Amazon they promised if a delay they would notify me?
You thought Hermes/Evri was awful? This company are even worse.
