Our experience with Wix has been devastating for our business.
We were locked out of our business website following an unauthorised change of control, and the payout bank details connected to the account were changed without our authority. We have reported this to Wix repeatedly for weeks, providing extensive evidence of ownership and making it absolutely clear that the changed bank account was not authorised.
Despite this, the matter has remained unresolved. No live agent has been able to take meaningful action, we have repeatedly been told that managers and the security team work “offline”, support tickets have been lost or replaced, and we have been left without control of a platform that was being used to manage our business bookings and customer payments.
Most seriously, we now believe that Wix has actually released business funds into the unauthorised bank account after they had already been fully informed of the dispute and provided with the evidence surrounding the account change. If confirmed, this means funds were released despite Wix having been expressly put on notice that the payout details had been changed without our authority.
This is an extremely serious development. Wix had the information available to prevent this from happening, yet we now appear to be in the position where money belonging to the business may have been paid into the very account we had repeatedly warned them about.
Even more concerningly, Wix has still failed to contact us directly regarding this matter. The police have contacted Wix as part of their enquiries and have been able to obtain information from them, yet despite the seriousness of the situation and our repeated attempts to resolve it, Wix has still not contacted me directly with any meaningful explanation or update.
The matter has been reported to the relevant fraud and police authorities and we have now issued a formal pre-action demand before commencing legal proceedings.
Wix already has our full details and existing case reference, so there is no need for us to publish sensitive case information here.
The lack of urgency, accountability and effective intervention from Wix throughout this situation has caused serious financial loss and disruption and has effectively ruined the business we worked so hard to build.
⚠️ I DO NOT RECOMMEND WIX ⚠️
This company has been absolutely horrendous, to say the least.
My website went down by itself last Wednesday, completely without warning or explanation. It has now been eight days, and despite contacting Wix two or three times every single day, I still have no working website and no proper update.
I have now spoken to someone on the phone around ten times. During my latest call, I was literally begging the person on the phone to please give me an email address so that I could contact someone directly and try to get my website sorted.
I begged him. I explained that I desperately needed to speak to someone because my business is losing money every day that my website is down.
His response was that he could not give me an email address and that there was no way for me to email them. He told me that the only way I could communicate by email was if Wix emailed me first and then I could reply to that email.
Well, I have been waiting EIGHT DAYS for someone to email me — and nobody has.
So how much longer am I supposed to wait?
What sort of customer service is this?
I am a small business owner and my website is a huge part of my business. Wix is supposed to be a company that helps small businesses build and run their websites, yet when something goes wrong, I cannot even get a direct email address to contact someone for help.
Instead, I have to go online, speak to a robot, request a callback, wait on the phone, explain everything again and again, and still get absolutely nowhere.
I have spent hours and hours trying to get this resolved. I have been patient. I have chased repeatedly. I have begged for help.
And now, because I cannot keep waiting for Wix to fix my website, I have had to spend £550 on getting my website man to create me a backup website through Shopify.
And honestly, the difference in customer service has been unbelievable.
Shopify have been so much more helpful. There is a phone line where you can actually speak to someone, calls are answered incredibly quickly, there is an email address, and there is even a live chat through WhatsApp which has been extremely helpful.
It has been a completely different ballgame compared with Wix.
I have now had to spend an additional £550 simply because my Wix website has been down for eight days and I cannot get the support I need.
For a small business, that is a huge amount of money.
Wix — you are meant to be helping small businesses build and run their businesses, but right now I feel like you have done the complete opposite.
If you are currently unhappy with Wix and considering another platform, I would seriously recommend looking into Shopify. Based on my experience so far, the level of customer support has been completely different.
Eight days without my website. Hours spent chasing. No proper resolution. And £550 out of pocket just to get a backup website up and running.
Absolutely unacceptable.

Roles & Permissions are horrible for Wix and need to be improved and more specific, along with the slow website loading speed. There should be a way to make media files so that they cannot be deleted or downloaded, especially for digital products. There are a lot of features that were voted for that have never been added. Definitely lots of room for improvement.

Just contacted Wix after I left them in August due to terrible customer and website service experience, I now had an issue with domain transfer so got to use their live chat again - the same thing happening, after sometime speaking with agent, my messages stop getting delivered to them and their messages come through saying as if they didn't see my messages and ask me why have I been quiet all this time! this is pathetic, considering I have already reported this over a month ago, left a review mentioning it, been asked by customer care team to discuss this further yet nobody followed up, so really glad I don't have to deal with Wix again, just awful stressful waste of time, when everyone's extremely busy anyway!

As a small business owner, I have spent a significant amount of money on Wix based on the understanding that I would be able to use these services and features for my business. Despite making repeated attempts to obtain assistance, I have not been able to use the platform in the way I subscribed for.
After being told “thank you for your patience while our team carefully reviewed your request. After a thorough evaluation of the circumstances and all available information, we’ve determined that we’re unable to issue a refund, as the request falls outside our refund policy. As much as we’d like to help further, we’re unable to make exceptions in this case. Our policies are in place to ensure fairness and consistency for all customers, and we must adhere to them.”
So I am now stuck with a website that doesn’t have capacity to do what I need it to do your online programs can’t be added to store products or adding a link directly into the classroom which I was told it would
I therefore don’t believe this should simply be treated as a standard change-of-mind refund request.
I also understand that, under the Australian Consumer Law, services are subject to consumer guarantees, including that services are provided with due care and skill and are reasonably fit for a particular purpose that has been made known to the supplier.
Given the circumstances, I am asking Wix to consider my request in light of these consumer guarantees rather than relying solely on the standard refund policy.
If Wix maintains its position that I am not entitled to a refund, I would appreciate a written response explaining how Wix considers the service I purchased has met these requirements, given the functionality issues I have experienced and the inconsistent information I have received from Wix support.
If we are unable to resolve this matter directly, I will consider referring the matter to the appropriate Australian consumer protection authorities, including the ACCC and Consumer Affairs Victoria.

I have used Wix as my website creator and it has provided me with everything I need. As someone who has grown up in an old world family who doesn't like high-tech, it has been a learning processes to understand everything, but once learned, the service is friendly to you.
Super easy to build a site! I've used Wix for several years and the site I've built is easy to edit and add more for folks to enjoy.
A powerful platform for building and growing a professional brand
My experience with Wix has been very positive. What started as building a personal website evolved into a much broader digital ecosystem for my brand, including e-commerce, digital products, creative projects, consulting, and a luxury menswear concept.
I particularly appreciate the flexibility Wix provides to customize the website, manage products and categories, integrate different business functions, and continuously improve the user experience across desktop and mobile.
There is definitely a learning curve, especially when working with more advanced features, but once you understand the platform, the creative possibilities are extensive.
For creators, entrepreneurs, and professionals who want to build and manage their own online presence without depending entirely on developers, Wix offers a powerful and flexible solution.
I’m still developing my business and website, but Wix has been an important part of that journey.
My social media presence is very strong that is why my web is getting views and blessed with great Almighty Allah rest wix is easy to to use
Satisfied with Wix for my business! Over time, you learn how to work around the platform's little quirks and adapt it to your own workflow.
⚠️ The only downside (and a big one): "expert" spam. As soon as you ask support for a simple piece of advice, you get bombarded with paid offers from service providers. It makes you legitimately wonder if there are internal data leaks or a conflict of interest.
✅ The major plus: the "Symphony" tool. It is so comprehensive that it makes external experts obsolete. Just watch out for a minor memory glitch (it sometimes reminds you of tasks you've already completed), but overall, it's highly efficient. Highly recommended!
Great platform for my website would highly recommend WIX
Wix feels incredibly outdated and unnecessarily complicated. Basic website management features that should be simple and intuitive are either extremely limited or difficult to control. The Photo Albums app has serious layout issues, almost no flexibility, and even basic things like manually arranging albums or adjusting vertical spacing are unnecessarily difficult.
Customer support makes the experience even worse. I spoke with three different agents and spent over an hour trying to get clear answers to straightforward technical questions. Instead of solutions, I kept getting generic responses and small talk.
For a company whose entire business is website design and website building, the lack of flexibility, intuitive controls, and effective technical support is extremely disappointing. The whole system feels outdated.
And the photos even having a correct size open in the album gallery very slow and the albums design is horrible! Just awful!!! All over i am ready to move my website to another platform. It's just waste of money

The website to start with was helpful to build the basics although there were a couple of bits where I was told that it wasn't optomised but didn't give clear guidance as to why.
The most frustrating part is that a year later, the site is dead. We have been set up for an auto renewal, there is no phone number to contact, the AI bot doesn't as the right questions and when it does agree to put you through to a human it simple cuts you off by displaying an error message. Luckily we paid through our credit card so we'll be chasing the refund through that route but truly infuriating experience for something that should be a simple conversation with a person.

Even if someone had zero knowledge of designing a website beforehand I feel they would be fine using Wix, and their customer service is great should you ever run into issues you cannot resolve yourself with the help and AI functions.
SUCKS ALL IT DOES IS LAG AND TAKES SO LONG TO DO ANYTHING OMG AWFUL WEBSITE

When I had to close my small nonprofit at the end of last year, I'd forgotten or didn't realize that my only part time employee, who I'd already helped find a solid full time job, had set up our Wix website plan on a two year recurring basis using my personal credit card. I only realized when I was charged $624 for the period through August 2028. Despite canceling everything immediately, Wix is adamant I have to pay them their $624 DESPITE the fact that I am paying for nothing, and will have to take the funds out of my next social security check. But what do you expect from some greedy, corporate giant owned primarily by institutional investors like Blackrock and Baille Gifford? No wonder big businesses have such a poor reputation in this country anymore. They've forgotten what customer service is ...

We’ve had a great experience using Wix for the First Sterling Church website. The platform is user-friendly, flexible, and makes it easy to keep our church community informed and connected. We especially love the blog and event calendar apps, which allows us to easily share messages, ministry updates, and upcoming events all in one place. Wix has been a reliable and valuable tool for our church’s online presence.

It took over an hour and 20 minutes just to reach a real person. When I finally did, the “human expert,” ended the chat without resolving the issue or even giving me any useful guidance.
This is easily one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had.
The problem isn’t even that my issue wasn’t solved. The problem is that after 80 minutes, I still couldn’t find a proper customer service email address or a straightforward way to speak to someone who could actually help.
I wasn’t asking for anything complicated. I was simply trying to reach a human being and explain the issue.
For a paying customer to spend that much time just trying to access basic support is completely unacceptable.

I’ve been using Wix for my site for years, but I’m thoroughly fed up with these random errors. Sometimes you just open the site to make changes, and something has broken for no apparent reason—like the footer ending up above the gallery. It’s just ridiculous. I’d gladly move the site to another platform, but it requires too much effort. I’m very disappointed.
