Not what it used to be
It used to be a great hassle free service with fast turnaround times. It has recently become more difficult to use and requiring follow up. The pricing has gone up as well, charging a fair amount for each and every thing. I use their service address and hardly ever receive any mail. And then all of a sudden, there was one mail item and they asked around £90 + Vat for an annual subscription to be able to scan that one item of post. So, I will personally be cutting back on using them. I wish they reverted back to how they were in the past.

To clarify, we offer three separate address services. The first is a Registered Office Address Service which appears on the Companies House public register for your company and is official address and where government mail is sent to the company. The second is a Service Address, which allows a company officer or PSC to place our address on the Companies House register for correspondence addressed directly to them.
The third service is the Business Address Service. This service is designed for general business correspondence from senders other than government bodies, such as customers and suppliers. All of our address services enable mail received to our address to be scanned and emailed to you on the same day we receive it. We would also like to clarify that the pricing of these services has remained unchanged in recent years.
Having reviewed your account, I can see that the item of mail addressed to your company that we received recently was general business correspondence, not government mail, and therefore, a Business Address Service is required to have it forwarded to you. Unfortunately, you did not have an active Business Address Service, meaning that the mail received was not forwarded to you. We notified you as soon as we received the item of mail that we could send it to you if you purchased the Business Address Service.
As a Trust or Company Service Provider, we are supervised by HMRC for anti money laundering purposes, and must comply with the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2019, the London Local Authorities Act 2007, and Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines, and therefore we are unable to offer one-off mail forwarding or collection services. To release or forward any mail, an active Business Address service must be in place, and all required compliance checks must be successfully completed.
I have attempted to contact you to arrange a call so that I can better understand your feedback regarding how our services have become difficult to use and the concerns you raised about pricing changes. As you have been a customer since 2024, I would like to clarify that neither the pricing of our address services nor the way these services operate has changed during that time.
Unfortunately, I have not yet received a response to my email. If you are open to discussing your feedback further, please feel free to reply at your convenience.

We have formed several companies through 1st Formations and the process has always gone very smoothly.
This latest formation took slightly longer due to a technical maintenance issue at Companies House, but even so, everything was completed within a reasonable timeframe. Communication was clear, the process was straightforward, and the team was helpful throughout.
