Very disappointing experience with Agoda

Very disappointing experience with Agoda customer support.

Due to the exceptional travel disruptions and uncertainty during the planned travel dates, I had no choice but to cancel my travel plans for safety and operational concerns. The situation was publicly covered across international and official news platforms, with widespread reports about disruptions, delays, cancellations, and instability affecting travelers.

However, Agoda support kept requesting “supporting documents” that simply do not exist in such circumstances, instead of reviewing the overall situation reasonably and professionally.

As someone working in the hospitality industry, I fully understand policies and procedures, but customer support should also apply common sense, flexibility, and practical judgement during extraordinary situations.

The handling of this case was extremely frustrating and far below the level of service expected from a global travel platform.

Very shady website

Very shady website. Double charge me for a room 2 times in 1 week, causing my bank account to be overdrawn. Do not trust them for anything, no matter what prices they are advertising, they cannot be trusted.Go with any other booking website besides them.

Very disappointing first experience…

Very disappointing first experience with Agoda. I had a confirmed booking at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort during Eid, only to be informed two days before arrival that the hotel was “fully booked.” Surprisingly, the hotel was still showing available on Agoda, and I have screenshots as proof.

The proposed alternative was not comparable to the original resort experience we specifically booked for. This completely disrupted our Eid vacation plans at the last minute.
I have used Booking.com for many years without facing such an issue. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously affected my trust in Agoda’s booking reliability and customer handling.

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE TOTAL SCAM. Booked an apartment nothing when we turned up even though multiple times I tried to contact them! Got in touch with the actual host and management company and hadn’t heard of this company. DO NOT PART ANY MONEY. WE WILL PURSUE OUR REFUND AND CONTINUE TO GET THIS COMPANY REMOVED!

Was trying to put the one room on our…

Was trying to put the one room on our order but for some unknown reason it wouldn’t let us said pay later and it took the money straight away have had a few problems with Agoda trying to book rooms so will have to look else where if things get any worse

Zero help

Accidentally booked incorrect dates. Called Agoda immediately to rectify it and was pretty much told, tough luck no refunds. Zero goodwill gesture.

Agoda supports Islamophobia

@hotelsworldwide2017 on instagram is posting islamophobic comments all over instagram.. the account has several promotions and links for Agoda .. does Agoda support racism and Islamophobia? Maybe you shouldn’t be paying racists to promote your company

Agoda Hotel Bookings for Thailand

Been using Agoda for many, many years, site is very easy to search and navigate. Living in the UK I get prices including service charges and VAT, none of the excluding taxes nonsense. Hotel prices in Thailand have been rising recently and Agoda now does not always have the best price for my choices.

Agoda help system did not work for me

I booked an apartment in Tallinn using Agoda. I was told someone would meet me at the address at a specific time. When I arrived there was no one there and access was by code. I found the help system very frustrating, every question was answered with "give me 10-15 minutes to find an answer". The name of the chat assistant kept changing and after 2 hours I was asked for my booking number again. They had already confirmed my booking and told me that they could not contact the host. I only got access because another guest arrived and they were able to give me a phone number. The host blamed Agoda for not giving them my contact details, fairly I think, but are also partly to blame. Agoda sent me access details nearly 3 hours after I first contacted them and an hour after I had managed to get access myself. Very stressful and frustrating.
