Terrible airport. We arrived on time. Then queued at baggage check-in,security and lastly the longest queue, passport control. Didn't sample any food or drink as we went straight on to boarding. Def... See more

Passport control
The worst experience both entry & exit from Malaga. The rudeness was shocking and enough to put one off returning. Change in staff behaviour absolutely required basic manners.
Rude staff and disgusting facilities
I arrived to Malaga airport 5 hours early as I had an issue with my passport. I asked for help from one of the people at the check in counter and she was one of the rudest, disrespectful people I have ever spoken to. She was extremely unhelpful, offered no guidance and kept raising her voice at me when I was clearly in distress. After this she turned away from me and started talking and laughing with her colleagues in Spanish and I heard her say “super mala gente” (very bad people), referring to the entire queue getting the BA Heathrow flight.
Not only was she rude to me but she gave another woman in the queue the wrong information and when she got upset that she would miss her flight the woman threatened to remove her from the plane.
I don’t want to generalise the entire staff but this woman clearly had a bad attitude towards British people. Why would you work in the tourism sector if you don’t want your deal with tourists?
Not only were the staff’s attitudes disgusting but so were the toilets and tables which were sticky, smelled and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.
Every minute counts
Every minute counts! No staff, nobody knows anything. Fully incompetent airport. Expect queue jumpers, bad attitudes and utter chaos. Been travelling for 3 days in this airport, flights missed because simple bag drop and passport control was longer than 3 hours. Try and be the first everywhere, run everywhere, question staff for everything, they will not tell you anything and will give wrong information and even a bad attitude when they have given you incorrect information. Even if a queue has 5 people in it, expect it to take an unprecedented amount of time. Don’t relax, don’t have food, every minute counts in this airport. Give yourself more than 3 hours from arrival!

One of the dirtiest toilets for a European 🇪🇺 country, horrific smell and the toilets were filthy, urinals we’re blocked. They need to tender it out to a new cleaning contractor.
Everything closed at 20 h
Everything closed at 20 h. Flight at 23.20 h... no food no diner. Very bad service. Lack of hygiëne in the toilets. Unfriedly service
The initial process of baggage control…
The initial process of baggage control was efficient and the staff were lovely and helpful, however when entering through duty free, passport control and boarding there was no staff or help guidance at all. We were stood in a line waiting to be checked in as the passport control computers were all disabled. Worst and most ineffective airport I have ever been to.
Airport doesn’t have a clue
Literally shocking experience. Flight delayed by two hours but no info about this on the airport screens or from staff - everyone waiting at the gate for over two hours waiting for an update.
Passport control
On our return from malaga staff were mostly helpful particularly at the bag drop off. However at passport control the man! at desk was extremely arrogant and rude. He did not ask me to come forward to his booth when I did and as I passed my passport to him and politely said passport? He abruptly said of course! He then checked my passport and literally threw it back at me - he then continued his conversation with his colleague. Not a nice final memory of Malaga!
Terrible service
Myself and my son were buying 2 products on Clarins which entitled us to a gift but there was no one Clarins beauty advisor. I asked an older lady that worked on Clinique but she said she knew nothing about Clarins and didn't know where the advisor was or even if she was in. I found another helpful lady that said she'd try to help but when she came over to the Clarins counter with me the lady from Clinique with preceeded to whisper to her in Spanish and the other lady said she can't give it to me. I waited around for 15 minutes to try get the Clarins advisor but no one came. Myself and my son were so disappointed as it was a gift for his Nanny. We went to the self Checkout bought our products and purchased a bag. On leaving a lady made me show her my receipt in front of everyone to make sure I paid for the plastic bag. As I've worked in the premium retail industry for 19 years surely there is a nicer way to treat your customers. Very disappointed
Staff were so rude
Staff were so rude. Scanners didn’t work. Asked a police man for help and he just continuously ignored me looking in the other direction. Staff separated our family and when I asked them could we stay together they said ‘I’m not that bad, you’ll see each other again’, downplaying my anxiety. Horrific experience. Horrific representation of their country!
Good airport BUT
Good airport
But as a non eu sitizen I have to rush through a security at the new e gates because it could be busy and i could miss my flight and then after all I sat for over 1. 5 hour in absolutely empty area at my gates instead shopping at the duty free shops and enjoying nice cafés after general security.
The e gates for non eu sitizens have to be located before the main duty free area so we all can enjoy it. Disappointed!
This is by far the worst airport…
This is by far the worst airport experience I have ever had. The staff are extremely rude. I asked security staff to hand search my camera film as it cannot go through the scanner - the staff were so rude and began shouting at me in Spanish. Despite it being clear I could not understand they continued to shout at me. They refused point blank and put this through the scanner, destroying all my holiday pictures and £50 of film. I travel regularly and have never had this issue in any other airport across the world. One lady even laughed at me - so dismissive. The airport is so disorganised and passport control processes so unclear with lots of people very stressed and nearly missing flights due to poor signage. EasyJet desk staff later laughed that we were in the wrong place, however refused to help us, simply shrugging and moving us on. Luckily jet2 staff were a great help and lovely.
I have never experienced rudeness like this and actually this would make me reluctant to travel back to Malaga again, which is a shame as the place itself is beautiful. Whole experience put such a dampener on our holiday.
So rude!
So rude!! Never been to a unorganised airport like it,they speak to you like dirt no one speaks English and they chuck your belongings in your face get me back home.
Malaga Airport what a complete mess on…
Malaga Airport what a complete mess on arrival to first Terminal building over 150+ in queue for non EU.then at last the new EES gates, stand behind line, then here you go ...passport flat down.left hand using 4 fingers down, look at camera. Then followed by 4 question are you on holiday, business etc next how long, next do u have this amount of Euros for your 7nt stay, then if so can they check....hurrah then the whole thing stopped working so you find another and start again.at last your nearly through, walk past passport control then luggage time was 1hr....Leaving was a breeze.
AGP works for staff not customers
The airport, including security, some of the airlines that serve it, and passport control, places customer service as the lowest priority. It takes 3 hours to get through malaga out of season. Come July, they are either going to have to improve or chaos will rain. The staff care little for customers, it is all about protecting the process, irrespective of the inconvenience to us.
Absoloute disgrace at passport control…
Absoloute disgrace at passport control at this airport. One person on desk with ques and ques of families trying to get through.unfortunatley this review will do nothinh for this airport as i wrote this same review last year and there has been absoloutely no change to it whatsoever.
Chaos at border control
Chaos at border control. Queue for 30mins at registration (???) then another 30mins at e gates that take 4mins per person and reject 70percent, so you then queue again for manual inspection. Nonsense.

Igennem gate og check-in på under 20 minutter 👍🏽 Længeste ventetid var på kaffen i restauranten…
Missed flight to the UK despite…
Missed flight to the UK despite arriving 3 hours before, due to an hour to drop off bags, an hour through security, and an hour through passport control for non-EU. Everyone without children could go straight through, all the children waiting, and we had a 3 year old and no flight for 2 more days.
Terrible check in woman at B16 gate to…
Terrible check in woman at B16 gate to Gatwick on BA on 27 May at 12.35, did not call seats in order so we then were at close to end of line even though Doris have been first then made us put our bags in the hold. She also refused to allow us to use BA loyalty card even though it says we should be able to use it. Worse worker ever, terrible BA and Malaga airport experience
