Terrible experience. Gates change.
On November 30th 2025, I flew through Malaga airport.
They have changed the gate of our flight from D42 to D61, 1 hour before the flight while we were already waiting on gate D42 as announced in 1 hour and 10 min before flight.
This change was not well announced as the airport announcements are impossible to understand and they do cannot even call the passengers because they have a silent policy in the airport (as they told us).
We lost the flight, at our own full responsibility (as we were told).
Terrible experience. Terrible.

Deliberately obstructive and unhelpful
I understand that the new EU entry/exit protocol is being phased in, but Málaga Airport management/security/passport control were just deliberately obstructive. We were told to register in the terminals before passport control when exiting the country. We both tried to register, but for whatever reason, were both told to join the manual queue and we could not register, this was about 90 minutes before scheduled take off. The queue was huge to get the passport stamped, back to duty free almost. It moved reasonably freely for a while and we thought getting through would not be a problem, but then all of a sudden it stopped. About 15 mins before our flight was due to take off, the passport control people must have stopped redirecting people to the terminals to register and actually started stamping passports, guessing management had proved their point to Brits at this time, and instructed then to get people through, as potentially 100's of people would have missed their flights. We eventually ran to our gate and got their at 11.44. We have never had to do this in 45 years of traveling😢😢
It was our first time going in and out of Málaga, and we will seriously reconsider not flying into here ever again. Flying is stressful enough without deliberate obstruction.
Check in opened at 08.30 and I was…
Check in opened at 08.30 and I was there shortly after that and it was already carnage. Took me an hour and twenty minutes to check bag in then fortunately an official let me skip the queue at security. Then I had to run to passport control yet another queue and on to board flight. Thankfully so many passengers were held up too so plane had to wait for us all to board. Not a great end to the holiday!
Malaga parking
I used a company called NISO PARKING at Malaga airport and left my car with them for 4 days. The person met me on my return and handed me back my car. He then left very quickly. I then noticed that my milage had gone up 500kms + and a half tank of Diesel was missing. My car was covered in mud and after numerous attempts to contact them I have had no luck. This company is a disgrace and abuses the trust you put in them to look after your car, This company 'NISO PARKING' should be avoided at ALL costs. DO NOT USE THEM!!!
Shocking
Shocking, 2 hour wait and nothing has changed, no finger print check it was like they were just going slow because they could, nobody was taking control of the situation and they even found it funny asking us if we were British and laughing at the size of the queue, how much money does tourism bring into their country?
Horrendous experience
Horrendous experience, landed at 10:30, at 12:30 hadn’t got to the main passport control booths.
Was informed by fellow UK passengers that it would be another 2 hours of queues before getting through to passport control. Thankfully when I spoke to a member of staff due to struggling with medical issues, they escorted us through the throng of waiting people along the accessibility queue. This was the first contact with any staff in the airport building- there was no information or welfare checks during this time crammed into a hot building with minimal ventilation and no air conditioning.
Once through passport control and due to the time issues there was no information about where to collect our baggage. Due to the prolonged length of time there was no information on where the baggage from our flight was being processed. There was baggage on conveyor belts and in the middle of the floor with no information on which flight they belonged to. Fortunately upon speaking to a member of the Jet 2 staff we were able to find our luggage due to their due diligence.
This was an average Friday in early November and should have been managed much better, the problem was later reported as a lack of staff, this was unsafe and extremely stressful for all those travelling today.
Just want to get out!
Appalling organisation!
Just hell trying to get through passport control. 3 hours so far.
Why are none of the automatic controls working?
Terrible experience
Arrived in time from Malaga, however took over two hours to make it from the plane to collecting suitcase! Over 2 hours!! In stifling hot conditions!! The young children were finding it unbearable and laying on the floor crying.
The problem seemed to be due to passport control, this is where the queues took over 2 hours! Their new machines aren’t working and the manual passport checkers were way too low in numbers. Queue upon queue upon queue area and barely moving.
Once finally through there my luggage was no where to be found and this really stressed me out! The display signs of which luggage circuit relating to which flight was not showing and after searching all the luggage drops mine was not there. A Jet2 lady helped me in the end, what a blessing she was, and I’d flown with Ryanair.
Overall hated the experience and I have my return flight yet next Saturday!
One last groan, the taxi cost 22 euro from the airport to Travelodge Malaga Airport, extortion considering 8 minute drive!
Terrible airport

Definitely not a pleasant or relaxing experience.
Come to Malaga - we hate you
I arrived 2 and half hours before flight back to UK. Checked in on time. Never had a chance to sit down throughout. Each area has massive queues security, passport control, gate queue, waiting for bus to get to the plane. I have travelled a lot over the years and this is worse than Muhammed Airport in Nigeria during the 90s. The place is a disaster, completely chaotic and ground staff seem to hate everyone.

Socialist Spain
Busy airport and most staff are doing great job.
SAS checkin does make ovn rulles. Everybody has to line up in same line. Even priority sign is ignored by staff?
Rude answer, all passengers have to wait in same line!!!!
Business or Gold members just shut up.
Asked for his supervisor and he said I am. Believe he was for 1 minute!
Anyway 2-3 minutes later they opened priority line.
Too many socialist in Spain.
Horrible
Horrible. WiFi not working. Queued for an hour to check in and bag drop.
C33 for Aer Lingus. No seating facility at all for passengers at this gate. Literally no seats and the place was very busy.
Toilet filthy. Door lock broken. Toilet seat propped against the wall.
And looks like flight is delayed.
Awful place.

Not very professional as outward journey
OK - OUR JOURNEY TO MALAGA WAS FAULTLESS BUT GOING HOME TO BOURNEMOUTH WAS NOT. OUR DAUGHTER HAD BOOKED ASSISTANCE BECAUSE I AM DISABLED AND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT MALAGA FOR OUR RETURN JOURNEY WE WERE EXPECTING THAT SAME LEVEL OF EFFICIENCY. YES THE YOUNG MAN AT THE ASSISTANCE WAS VERY EFFICIENT AND I SHOWED OUR BOARDING PASSES AND PASSPORTS AND HE THEN PUT US IN A MOTORISED CAR AND DROVE US TO SECURITY. IT WAS ALL DONE VERY PROFESSIONALLY WITH NO HICCUPS. HE THEN TOOK US TO DEPARTURES AND BOOKED US IN AND WE SAT DOWN AND THANKED HIM. WE WERE AT GATE 16. WE BOTH THOUGHT AT THE TIME IT WAS VERY SLICK AND QUICK. I THEN SAID TO MY HUSBAND I NEEDED THE LOO AND HE TOOK ME TO A DISABLED TOILET WHICH WAS DISGUSTING. I WAS DESPERATE. I USED IT BUT IT WOULD NOT FLUSH BUT I JUST WANTED TO GET OUT.
BECAUSE WE WENT TO DEPARTURES ON THE CART WE NEVER WENT TO DUTY FREE WHICH WAS A SHAME. THEN WE SAT THERE FOR AGES WAITING FOR ASSISTANCE TO THE PLANE.
SO IT GOT TO 8PM AND IT SAID GATE CLOSES AT 8 30 AND I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO ON THE PLANE FIRST BUT NOBODY CAME WITH THE MOTORISED VEHICLE AND I WAS GETTING FLUSTERED. MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE DESK TO COMPLAIN AND THEN SOME GUY ARRIVED WITH A WHEELCHAIR. I HAD TO GET ON WHILE HOLDING THE ROLLATOR WHICH WAS NOT IDEAL. THEN THIS GUY PUSHED ME DOWN A SLOPE WHICH WAS HAIR-RAISING WHILE PASSENGERS FOR OUR FLIGHT WERE RUSHING PAST US. IN MY MIND IT WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. WE GOT TO THE PLANE AND I WAS BROUGHT ON VIA A SLOPE WHILST OTHER PASSENGERS WERE ON THERE TOO SHOVING AND PUSHING. I THINK THEY MADE A HUGE MIX UP. WE EVNTUALLY GOT TO OUR SEATS AND BEFORE LONG WE TOOK OFF AND THE FLIGHT WAS OK. WHEN WE LANDED AT BOURNEMOUTH THE STEWARDESS ASKED IF I COULD WALK TO THE TERMINAL AND I SAID " NO" AND MY HUSBAND SAID THAT WE HAD ASSISTANCE BOOKED. EVENTUALLY ASSISTANCE CAME WITH A WHEELCHAIR AND BY THEN PASSENGERS WERE DISEMBARKING SO IT WAS A SHAMBLES - NOT AS PROFESSIONALLY AS THE OUTWARD JOURNEY BUT WE GOT TO PASSPORT CONTROL AND WERE FIRST AND WHISKED THROUGH AND OUR SON WAS WAITING OUTSIDE AND WE GOT HOME VERY QUICKLY THANKFULLY AND THE FLIGHT WAS 10 MINS EARLY.
Rude staff separating families at arrivals
We have been here many times. We arrived at passport control and they told our 12 year old son to go on his own in a separate queue and me, my husband and 6 year old could go in the family queue. Other airports- families stay together. We couldn’t understand the sign and asked why they were separating us and we got a loud tut and an eye roll. Very very rude. They are taking their signs literally…the sign was a picture of a family and it says over 12s to go in normal queue. I believe it just means if your child is 12 or over you all go in the normal queue but if any child is under 12 you all go in family queue. Honestly…they were awful! We were very polite and spoke some Spanish to them and they were just bitter!!
Appalling experience at Málaga Airport – Groundforce service a disgrace
I had an awful experience at Málaga Airport while checking in for a SWISS flight to Zurich (LX2121). The ground handling was outsourced to Groundforce, whose staff were incompetent, rude, and disrespectful.
I was traveling in Business Class with a pet, and needed to pay for cabin transport and an extra bag. Three valid credit cards were refused, without clear explanation. I was forced to withdraw cash from an ATM, losing money on fees and a bad exchange rate.
Then the price suddenly changed from EUR 165 to EUR 189 without any justification. One Groundforce agent threatened to leave me behind if I didn't pay immediately — even though the delay was their fault. No receipt was issued, and the check-in system couldn’t register the payment properly.
I lost over an hour and was treated with arrogance and zero professionalism. Truly shocking behavior for an international airport.
Groundforce should not be representing any airline, and Málaga Airport should be held accountable for allowing this level of service. Absolutely unacceptable.
Awful awful awful experience & airport
Awful awful awful experience. Got to airport 4 hours before our flight. Our flight was displayed on screen telling us what counter to go check in at. We waited in a ridiculous queue for ages for this counter only to finally get to front to be told that we need to come back to this queue 2 hours before our flight as we’re too early. Then WHY display the check in counter numbers for our flight if we can’t check in???? Why not display the counter numbers for the flight only when you are allowed to go check in for that flight.
Hundreds of people queuing unnecessarily. Absolute poor poor service and efficiency. Also no airport or information staff around to ask for support or help… at 9am in the morning!
