“Stress-Free Rental & Outstanding Service!”

I recently rented a car from AKD Car & Scooters Rental during my vacation in Mauritius, and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. I booked a small automatic car a few weeks in advance, and the team was very responsive and professional via WhatsApp.

When I arrived at the airport, an AKD staff member was already waiting for me with the car—clean, fueled, and ready to go. The handover was quick, and they took the time to explain local driving tips, including how to navigate roundabouts and what to watch out for with parking. The car (a Suzuki Swift) was in great condition and perfect for exploring the island’s coastal roads and national parks.

I especially appreciated how flexible they were with return times. I had a last-minute change in my flight, and they happily adjusted the pickup time without any extra fees. They also offered full insurance at a reasonable price, which gave me total peace of mind.

If you’re visiting Mauritius and want a reliable car rental with honest pricing, friendly staff, and zero stress—AKD is the way to go. I’ll definitely use them again on my next trip!

Avoid…

The company seems to be making money from deducting deposits. The car they gave me has light scratches and then charged me 120 euro. They do not have any pictures to show they car had no the scratch when I collected the car and kept demanding I show them pictures! On top of that they were acting like they were doing me a favour by charging only 120 euro. Either the scratch was there or one of the many dogs on the island scratched my car when parked. Either way, the guy then starts threatening me saying he will call the police etc. If I did not pay. I did not have a good experience with them. I won’t be using them.
