What a horrible experience
What a horrible experience. Probably the fisrt and last time. Once got home opened the bonnet to check engine bay and mechanic spilled oil all over engine cap and left it uncleabed dirty. Grease marks all over the door. £479 for a service and refused to top up the add blue. Failed to explain vw app. Failed to explain the benefits of the app. I asked the vw device to be fitted which was givven to me in a box and simply told to figure it out your self. I asked for the code of the paint in tge morning and when arrived to collect car a 5.30 pm the advisor said oh the parts department is closed you need to come back again. £479 For a service you expect at least a decent manner.
Great customer service from Norman H
After using a VW/Audi dealership in central London for servicing (and spending £3,700 in 4 months to only receive "take it or leave it" style customer care) I chose to use Alan Day City (E1W 2BF) when the MOT was due. Great customer service (thanks Ryan H) and a video of the car being inspected (thanks Norman F). OK, so it took a couple of days to get the one spare part that was needed for the car to pass the MOT(and I had a bit of a prima donna moment about that - whoops) but Norman saved the day and dealt with me professionally and courteously.
Computer says no....
So after over 2 years, VW finally tells me they are ready to carry out the modification to fix the emissions problem they caused by their own dishonest practices and I am advised to contact them in order to make an appointment.
Wow - but its really hard to get a date booked in. Perhaps it's because I just want the free modification and not booking in for some paid work at the same time? Either way I am still waiting to hear when they can fit me in.
I used to like VWs - but not sure I'd buy another one based on this experience.
Alan Day City Oh dear.. sorry sir you'll have to wait until you've paid for the car?
'You've increased the price by £500 since we put a deposit on that car!'
'Oh no we haven't sir'
'Oh yes you have, look at these web images'
'Oh yes that was a mistake sir, we'll include a letter for a car service'
' would you like to book a date to view it sir, what about Thursday or Friday, sir'
'Yes ok, that would be good'
'Hello this is the customer here are we ok to view the car tomorrow?'
'Oh it'll be ready next week now sir'
'Can we see the service history and the list of work done please'
' oh you'll see all that when you pick the car up. We Would never sell you a damaged or stolen car sir'
So we saw the car, but with additional damage on it we hadn't been told about. We never saw the full service history despite asking on a number of occasions, and it felt like the sales person was being obstructive in providing us with information so that we could never be sure of what we were buying.
So we walked away.
