wonderful experience at tier 5

My phone battery had a problem during the warranty period. After chatting with Apple Support online, they suggested me to replace the battery. But since London was at tier5, it was very difficult to make an appointment, and I only have a mobile phone, there is no way to complete the repair by mail. But when I communicated with amsys via email (their email response speed is also very fast), they support walk-in repair! So I went straight in today and replaced my battery. Both the maintenance staff and the reception staff are very professional. They are very kind. My mobile phone had a free battery replacement! I like Apple more and more! After-sales service is very thoughtful!

Very Poor Service..

Very Poor Service... was asked I will be informed in 2 hours about the diagnosis but I called after 3 hours and it was not done. Received text about diagnosis a day later, saying device is been fixed when it wasn’t, asked to come back in 60-90 min if the device not fixed I will get a replacement but when I came back this time they found the issue but they can’t give me a replacement as promised 90 min ago, now device will have to be sent to Apple for a replacement and then I will have to go and pick from store. When I asked after all these could you not send it for free answer was no.

Go there if you know what you need getting done, these do only basic repair and mostly out of warranty. If your device is in warranty it’s better to ship it to Apple directly or visit a Apple store.

Wasted several hours and still waiting for the device.

SCAMMERS DO NOT USE

Due to COVID restrictions on apple repairs I was advised to send my devise here. Over the phone by apple I was told that my laptop would need a repair that apple offer for free. When I received my quote from Amsys they said it would cost 1600, more than the price of a brand new laptop. They then got it down to 1200 but this is still a scam and extortion. As soon as a I queried this they ceased responding to me. I am going to ask for my laptop back but they charge 200 to give it back to you. Do not use this repair place they are clearly scammers.

Dear Lucy
I have reviewed the case and all the communication associated with it.
Our technician was very clear in his detailed findings. The device is liquid damaged which has caused the keyboard to malfunction. To resolve that issue you were quoted correctly for the repair.
As your screen was also damaged, but functioning, he gave you the option to remove that cost from the quote, hence the reduction that you claim is a scam.
You claimed that the repair should be covered under warranty. The unit's warranty expired in Jan 2018, hence is out of warranty in any case. If the part was replaced 6 months ago then the 90 day warranty that Apple extend to replaced parts has also expired. He explained that to you, but wouldn't apply as the device was damaged.
There is a charge to be paid for the service and logistics we have carried out on your behalf. We make that clear at the outset. It is nowhere near the £200 you claim. I'm sorry, but that is simply untrue.
At no point was this a scam. Amsys has been an Apple Service Provider for over 30 years and has always conducted business with integrity.
I am satisfied that the technician did everything correctly and took pains to explain the situation to you. I'm sorry you didn't like what he reported and I'm sorry you are unsatisfied.

After hours on Apple customer service I…

After hours on Apple customer service I was directed to go here. Was feeling stressed and thought this was going to be another confusing and probably expensive conversation- it was neither. There were two people working and I was dealt with by the older man, who was extremely clear, friendly and helpful. Was a long queue, then waited 40 minutes for the repair to my phone. Very happy, very reasonable price too. Thoroughly recommend.

GREAT SERVICE!

The customer service via email was fantastic, I was provided with all the information I’d asked for and was able to have my phone repaired quickly. Likewise, the service in store was quick, professional and very friendly. My phone was successfully repaired in under 2 hours!

iPhone 11 speaker issue

This was my second time back to Amsys regarding my iPhone 11 this time around I had issues with the audio receiver. After so many calls with Apple customer service who did not want me to get a replacement device at all knowing my device was like brand new and a only a few months old and still under warranty.

The service was great I was served by Sara who explained the whole process of the repair and gave me many options
I did not have to send my phone off especially during Christmas time and they were quick to assess my problem and provide the repair in store.

Even with tier 4 restrictions this was done in an orderly and timely manner. Only took me couple hours for the whole front display to be replaced and with no price.

Thank you again to all the guys you are brilliant and thank you Sara. Now my phone looks brand new and performs like a brand new one too!

Have a great holiday guys.

We brought an iPhone in for a battery…

We brought an iPhone in for a battery replacement. The pleasant chap who served us was unable to remove the Find My Phone function, and we didn't have the password available so we had to return another day. He said we would not have to make an appointment and the battery would be replaced right away.

I then asked him if Amsys could extract data from an external hard disk. He said, yes they could, and it would cost £90. He instructed me to set up an appointment online. I did this, and was given an appointment specifically requesting data retrieval from an external hard disk.

When we brought in the external hard disk, plus a new one to transfer the data to, a staff member told us Amsys cannot process any external hard disk, because these are not made by Apple. He also said he could not renew the iphone battery immediately. We would have to return in two hours. When we asked him to reconsider, he agreed to have it done within an hour, and did so.

Amsys clearly has some serious internal communications problems. The counter staff do not listen well and the online staff seem to be unaware of what products the company is unable to service.
