would love lots of sprouts and greens less potatoes or pastry more meat.no added sugar. What happened to the piece of salmon,
My mum has been using Apetito for almost a year but we have cancelled the account. Why, I hear you ask....well most!y because of the abysmal customer service and a lack of interest in comp!aints. Examp!e 1: Late delivery of lunchtime meals; meals should arrive between 1.00 and 1.30 but have on occasions arrived between 2.30 and 2.45. Mum became hungry so had to make a sandwich which meant the meals were thrown away.
Examp!e 2: wrong meals being de!ivered, resulting in food not being eaten and thrown away. Nobody would put up with these occurrences in a restaurant so why is it deemed acceptab!e practice for a Meals on Wheels service. Good money is being paid to have meals delivered...it's not a free or charity service!!
Examp!e 3: the wrong menu request form being delivered with someone else's name, address and telephone number printed at the top of the the form, not good data protection!
Each time I comp!aimed I was just met with excuses. From my experience it seems that because mum is e!der!y customer service doesn't matter.

I broke my heel in the beginning of August.Discharged from hospital and signed up for meals on wheels.Did my preferred menus and gave to driver.A couple of times I've only received soup and dessert not what I ordered.Thank goodness for a really committed driver who is really caring and goes that extra mile.He gave me a dinner.I rang up to discuss this and left a message. As usual no call back.Glad that I will be able to soon get back to my own cooking as meals OK but not very appetizing to look at.
I’m surprised to find good reviews on this company as my mother experience with them was dreadful.
The food is often overcooked and bland and lunchtime food can be delivered very late in the afternoon , sometimes near to 3pm .
My mother has Dementia and we expressly told Apetito that meals must be plated up and given to my mother and not left in the kitchen as she wouldn’t remember they were there and they would go uneaten but sadly often meals were left on the kitchen side and mum went hungry and food went into the bin .
We ordered Mum a teatime box too as she was unable to remember to make a meal at anytime, this box was incredibly disappointing, it contained either a tuna , cheese or ham sandwich all with mayonnaise, a piece of cake and either a banana or a satsuma which was put in the fridge where the cake and sand which would go hard and the banana blackened.
A few times Mum was charged the usual £4.50 for one of these supper boxes and Apetito would run out of sandwiches so the driver would go to the local Morrison’s and buy the cheapest sandwich at approx £1.50-£2.00 and that was all that was supplied but the full £4.50 was invoiced.
We set up a direct debit for both her lunches and supper boxes but they appear to have messed that up even and at the moment im disputing a bill of over £200 they say mum owes for food .
Their Admin dept are useless, you get a different answer from everyone you speak to .
If it is at all possible to find another way to ensure your elderly relative gets a good meal please try other avenues ...
Mum was charged the full £4.99 for every meal including soup without desert, meals where uneadible and under cooked ended up in the bin, delivery times where diabolical. Begrudgingly payed the £93 bill to receive another demanding £98. When we finally got through to complain fell on deaf ears. Appetito treat old people like they should be grateful for what they get. Serve this rubbish in prison and you would have a riot on your hands!! Do the elderly a big favour and stop making a fortune selling uneadible rubbish

It was comforting to know that, as well as getting two meals, Dad was also getting an additional welfare check. Apetito contacted us straight away when Dad locked the door from the inside and they couldn't get in. We only used the service for a few weeks as Dad then had to go into residential care but we were impressed with customer service. The meals looked tasty and Dad certainly seemed to enjoy them.
I wonder if apetito are writing their own reviews.....as our experience differs to most.
Unappetizing to look at at. Over cooked tasteless limited range of vegetables potato on top of the veg.
Inedible tough meat most the time.
Every mince dish tastes the same.
Processed chicken tasteless fish.
Pasta and veggie meals disgusting at times. Deserts all topping little fruit lack of custard. Cold ones far too sweet mostly.
Wonderful looking roast dinner on the brochure in reality the opposite.
Highlights macaroni cheese were not to bad.
Poor service arriving well after 2 most days even 3.40 a couple of days.
Drivers not that helpful. Hassle to get menus and help initially.
Many people I know view the same opinion but their is little choice of this type of service available.
Age concern meals are wonderful. 8 out 10 compared to apetito 2 in my opinion.
Not the best help and encouragement when one is I'll.
Jeff and Mum.
My friend was admitted to the hospital and told me that she enjoyed the food you served. She wants to know if she’ll be able to order your chocolate cake online or where can she purchase it? Thank you!

I have only been involved with the Apetito purchasing for around 1 year but find that we are able to nutritionally calculate every meal is very important when working in elderly care. Most of the food is very tasty and looks delicious. I can not fault the fantastic customer service received by us with regards to Annthea it is always a pleasure for her to visit and to bring new meals and new ideas for presentation.
My 98 mother relies on meals from Apetito she is bed bound and they are supposed to plate up and take the meal in to her. Morning carer leaves a tray ready for them Despite several calls they are leaving it in the kitchen unboxed to be found by the afternoon carer uneaten. It cannot be reheated and has to be thrown away. Very poor service.

I have worked with Apetito for a few years within the hospital and now care home settings in Stockport.
I have found their teams to be very professional, and helpful, not only with my staff, but great with the home managers and most importantly the residents.
We have had great tasting sessions with the residents recently, and they have an input on what they would like to see on their menus.
I have been to a "Farm to fork event" involving fruits a few weeks ago, organised by Lisa Delaney and found how important it was for both Apetito to use locally sourced fresh foods for their products, and for me to be able to say with confidence how traceable the food is to my clients.
Apetito really do pride themselves on their produce, Customer service, and training,.
Great work Apetito!
This company is supposed to provide meals on wheels to my father who is registered blind and 83 years old.
Generally when the food is delivered he is very happy with the service, however, the problem is with the local delivery office when things go astray.
For two days running now, meals which usually arrive by 11.30am have not arrived by 2pm. So I have to first phone the local office. They never answer, if I am lucky there is an answerphone message telling me they cannot take the call but to leave a message, which I do.
I then wait, no one calls. After half an hour the only other number I can call is in Bath. The staff there always answer and try to help, but that help is limited to messaging the local office to ask them to contact me.
The local office never, ever respond or contact me which is unacceptable.
The meal usually arrives at some point (today it came at 3pm), only once was no meal delivered at all but there is never the courtesy of a response. This is not fair for a vulnerable person who has no idea if they are going to turn up or not.
I tried to contact them directly but their website is a maze and appears designed to get new customers rather than allow existing ones to get in touch.
This would be simple to fix, instead of a message on the answerphone saying they cannot reply leave a message, why not leave a message explaining how long the delay is or better still send a text message to the client or their contact to explain. This would also reduce the number of calls they must get allowing them more time to deal with whatever the issue is.

I would recommend Apetito as plenty of choice , well presented and tasty meals, good friendly service, no issues.
My mum is in a care home that use Apitito. She doesn’t enjoy the food and finds it tasteless and bland. I have tried some of their meals and also find them uninteresting and tasteless. We have expressed our views but nothing seems to change. I would not recommend Apetito.
