Easy to fill form in with medical conditions. I had trouble when it came to paying, but they rang me and I was able to pay over the phone.

I phoned Avanti travel insurance to get a quote, the lady I spoke to asked me where I was going, when I said Antigua she did not know what or where it was, I told her it was in the Carribean, bearing in mind her job is quotes for travel insurance I would have thought she would be familiar with it. I had to spell out slowly my name and my husbands name despite having very ordinary names. When it came to medical questions I asked her advice on giving an answer and she got very short (rude) with me and just said when she asks the question I have to answer the exact answer. The reason I phoned up was because it said are you waiting for a scan, my straight answer was no as I have just had a scan but I have not yet had the result so I was unsure if I would be covered not knowing, she just kept saying answer the question very aggressively, her English was very poor. I told her I needed to speak to someone else as I was finding her difficult to talk to and she was making me feel uncomfortable. She put me on hold for so long it was clear she was doing nothing. I phoned back and spoke to someone else so I asked to speak to a supervisor, the person taking the call did not understand the word so I said I want to speak to the person in change, the boss. She said she could not put me through to anyone. Clearly I could not trust taking insurance out with a company that I cant even speak to. I dont understand how they have high ratings.

I bought my travel insurance with Avanti over the phone and had a good experience. I declared all my medical conditions and the advisor was very helpful, professional and made the process straightforward. I received a good plan for my worldwide annual policy and was very pleased with the service.

My renewal was quite complicated but I feel the service I had was excellent.
