AVS4YOU Reviews 

I bought AVS4YOU in 2009, with an unlimited license for 1 PC, which I understood to be for 1 PC at a time i.e. upgrade your PC, delete from old PC, install on new PC. I did this in 2012 without issue, using AVS4YOU intermittently since (I've never been a big user, only occasional and decreasing over the years).
Recently, (on the PC that has had AVS4YOU running without issue since 2012 after upgrading from PC installed in 2009) I ripped a CD using the wrong settings. Rather than redo it I thought I'd just fire up AVS4YOU and convert the files. Taken aback at the license message denying me use, I reinstalled and input my original key. Still denied, I messaged AVS4YOU and got the same nonsense about 1 PC and it has always been that way.
They have CHANGED the way that those words are interpreted, to rip off people who in good faith gave them extra money for an unlimited license.
I will not be paying again as I no longer trust the people behind what I had thought of as old fashioned looking but quite good software. I would not recommend purchase of AVS4YOU to anyone except those I consider life-long enemies. Having changed this interpretation (and implementation - as I say this license interpretation didn't happen in 2012), what else could they do? Install some sort of malicious threat when I would previously have been inclined to tell my security software that I trust AVS4YOU?
No longer for me. I will look for something else.
UPDATE: Following AVS4YOU response to this review - I do not suggest the wording has changed, their interpretation has changed from 1 PC/1 user to 1 main board. Otherwise, why so many negative reviews? Changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star.

BUYERS BEWARE OF AVS4YOU "Unlimited Lifetime" Licence if you are going to switch to a newer computer.
Sometime before 2015 I had purchased AVS4YOU unlimited software and installed it on my PC. Subsequently as the PC was giving trouble I switched tog a Laptop and discarded the PC. Being a lifetime unlimited subscription, I installed the software on my new laptop and was shocked that my subscription worth around USD 70 was cancelled by AVS4YOU because I installed the software on a new machine.
I loved the software and I still love it, so on July 9, 2015 I repurchased the software the second time for CAD 74.91.
Now we are in 2025 and as my old laptop has some issues, I purchased a new laptop. Not wanting to lose the subscription I emailed AVS4YOU informing that I now have a new laptop and want to switch the software.
Unfortunately I have received an email from AVS4YOU that the subscription is limited to only 1 computer and if I want to use it on a new computer, I have to repurchase. So they have no system of changing my profile in their system with the IP of my new laptop. In this name of the Subscription "Lifetime" and "Unlimited" does not make sense and is misleading as the life of any computer is not lifelong. Also all customers are not lawyers to read and better understand the "Agreement" and we tend to trust AVS4YOU at the time of purchase.

My review of the software rates it 5 stars. My issue is with the wording of unlimited in describing the license agreement. While I did purchase the unlimited lifetime use of AVS4YOU fully aware of the "limitations" of installing AVS4YOU on another PC or after changing the motherboard on the same PC I originally installed AVS4YOU before changing out the motherboard. I do believe the use of the word "unlimited" is causing confusion for the overwhelming majority who do not read the fine print.
AVS4YOU is loaded with quality programs designed to be easy to use and quite affordable. Unfortunately AVS4YOU's reputation will suffer as more negative reviews are added.
I feel that I have been fair with my comments but even I won't be purchasing AVS4YOU again after paying twice for the "unlimited use" in the past.

Please note if you update your PC, change any PC components, OS, hard drive, etc, you can still use your current license key to activate the software. However if you change your PC, you need an additional license. As our subscriber you can obtain a discount for it.

We would like to draw your attention to the official license agreement which you should accept or reject while installing AVS programs. If you accept the agreement and continue with the installation process it means that you agree with all the conditions of the license policy.

"AVS4YOU Software is licensed on a per computer basis. Each license purchased is bound to one particular computer and allows using AVS4YOU Software on that single computer. If you install and use or reinstall AVS4YOU software on any other computers you will have to purchase an additional license for each computer. If you change a computer, you will have to purchase an additional license. All updates and upgrades for AVS4YOU Software are free for a user throughout the period of AVS4YOU license validity."

I have been using 5 programs AVS4YOU UNLIMITED for about 10 years and in those 10 years I had transferred my license to new desktop PCs and Laptops. In October 2024 I updated my motherboard and when I reinstalled AVS4YOU I got a msg "Can't Install Due To Multiple Licenses" I contacted AVS4YOU Support and requested to deactivate my license on the old and discarded pc and transfer to my new desktop pc. And this is AVS4YOU Support Replied"Please be informed, that according to our License Agreement AVS4YOU Software is licensed on a per-computer basis, you'll need to purchase a separate Unlimited or One-Year license for every new computer you want to install the programs on. If you install and use or reinstall AVS4YOU Software on any other computers you will have to purchase an additional license for each computer. If you change a computer, you will have to purchase an additional license" This policy was not in my original T&C when I purchased the AVS4YOU Unlimited Software. AVS4YOU is not Honoring and Supporting your Unlimited license. The Unlimited is a Scam.

Very easy to use and a great product for the price. The value here makes this a must buy

I have had a lifetime subscription of AVS4YOU products for a few years now, and this Company is in my, 'Most Trusted Group' of Software that I have. It is 'true' that this Company over the years have honoured it's update policy and also I might add, the quality of the products offered are up there with the best!

An unlimited subscription is a scam. I have been using it for years and have even upgraded it a few times. When I changed my computer, they wanted me to subscribe again at a discount. Why do I need to pay for something I already paid as an "unlimited" license? Does a computer last forever? Eventually, one will change it, or maybe it will get damaged or stolen. Unlimited licenses to be used on one computer should be considered differently and be like any other software that allows a computer to be unregistered so it can be registered on a new PC. They refused to understand my needs, so bye-bye, AVS4You, and welcome to Blackmagic Davinci Resolve. It is free and by far more powerful.

Your offer of unlimited use software is practically a fraud, you deliberately omit to specify CLEARLY that the word unlimited only refers to the lifespan of a computer, but the useful lifespan of a computer is more or less 5 years, so your unlimited is rubbish. I do business with Ashampoo, Hd video convertor
WC order and many other companies that respect the meaning of the word UNLIMITED. Not only will I not renew with your company, but I will be happy to explain on social media the meaning you give to the word unlimited. In theory, I buy an UNLIMITED license for a software, I install the software and if by misfortune my computer fails the next day, goodbye to UNLIMITED use. RIDICULOUS
