Beatport has issues with showing the correct keys and bpm. But when i was learning to dj, i learned that either we determine the keys and bpm by ear, or with rekordbox. That is the my only pet pe... See more

Good catalogue, great support service but... the website is horrible ! no ergonomic improvements in the 14 years I have been a customer, it's slow, heavy, searching something is painful.

I sent an email request to the customer support team & within a couple of days my issue was resolved in a friendly & efficient manner.

Beatport is pure RIP-OFF!!!

For a WAV file, you pay about 2.20$ per song (which normally would be fine). I bought different songs for $62 and wanted to download them overnight to my ipad. Unfortunately the download failed for several songs. No problem, you should think... You can download the music again, right? Yes, but only if you do it within the first 24 hours after the first download! What a cheek! I can't even stream a complete track anymore. Fortunately, I know the musicians and I can ask them to send me the files. I will also advise them to stop supporting Beatport and switch to another platform.

Keep your hands off Beatport!!!
PS: This is the first time I'm writing a review, but this really sets me up!!!!

Not delivered specified sound quality

What I don't appreciate is that beatport sells tracks that do not meet the specified sound quality. This happened to me two times now. If you buy tracks at beatport I would recommend downloading a acoustic spectrum analyser (like the free "Spek" app) to test the actual sound quality.
I also don't like the way they handle this problem. They refund the money, but they don't solve the problem. They should remove the track from their website or upload an improved version of the track.

Simply no support at all !

Simply no support at all !, sent many emails and got ignored by beatport for a simple help with a download error.

Would definitely consider other websites that are cheaper and with a better support on my next purchase.

Such a poor experience

I deeply regret every cent i gave to this company.
Such a poor performance.
a lot has allready been mentioned..
Lack of a "download all" button (what the hack?).
The filenames you get on wav's with the number digits..gosh..obviously they are not able to read out the tagging right..
The Lack of a Download manager for windows, wich would probably fix some issues..while its even announced on the website, but just doesnt exist..
You cant download an entire album, even though bought as bundle, lets say in a folder with a Album art? Why? This is so poor..
Btw Cover art files...anyone? no..

Random Download Rates.. seriously i am down to 15 kb/sec now..than the download sometimes aborts on the last 100kb..

30 days of downloading your files..again so poor..just look at bandcamp..they just store it with your account..its not a technical problem..its just f**kin greed like with all the problems

did i read rumors about some investment group took over beatport at some point? would fit..

and still damn ..why are many labels/artists giving theire music just there? its a shame..use bandcamp please..or some of the other platforms around. with fair customer politics..its a pain in the a** with beatport

Beatport download chores are the worst.

Beatport has the worst, most exasperating download procedure I've ever seen. Multiple complaints to them are answered, but never addressed. Nothing is done to fix it.
1. They removed 'download all'. It was such a simple, obviously useful option, it obviously saved hours of customer's work. *POOF*, *gone*.....
2. Every file starts with a meaningless eight-digit number, making it impossible to organize anything alphabetically after downloading. You must remove the number for each and every track as you download each one.
3. They can't/won't signify 'already downloaded', so if you spend an hour downloading over a slower dsl connection, when you come back to the site later, there's no way to know where you left off. More hours of wasted time & work.
4. Can't/won't include the artist's name in any track's download. Hope you like being forced to fire up Shazam or Soundhound to find the artist's name later!
5. Albums/contents are not identified. All tracks are just downloaded separately.

Why is beatport kicking their customers away?

Horrible experience.

Honestly I don't even know what to say or where to start. There are about 700 things to complain about because simple things like DOWNLOADING YOUR PURCHASED SONGS just don't work.
I've visited music websites for many years for many different reasons (find new music, listen to music, buy music,..)but beatport is just so so sooo extremely terrible compared to any other music service. It's just a pain in the a** to do something on this costumer unfriendly music provider.
I regret giving them money of the songs I purchased - never again. I rather don't have certain songs before purchasing them on beatport and going through hell because their incompetence again.

Poorly worded promotions, misleading promotional offers, poor customer service support

Greetings,

I appreciate the timely response, as I am running out of time to make any purchasing decisions before I leave any area where wifi or cell phone signal will be accessible.

The campaign said that level 2 would be available after the purchase period expired for the level 1 coupon.

It is explained on this link below that I shared in my initial request.

"Link to level up support here"

The first level period expired several days ago, according to the timer ticking at the bottom of the website. There was no other date formally posted to signify an alternative end date for the promotion. The date of my purchase- 9/4/2018, showed only hours until the level 1 coupon period expired. I logged in the next day, excited to have met the deadline for the promotion, to go on the website to check on whether my level 2 coupon would be available. What I found instead was very disappointing and shocking- that another level 1 period had started on the site, and that not only was I not able to get a level2 discount code, but that I could not access any kind of discount for my intended purchase for this weekend. I recognize that the promotional language was kept vague, this felt intentional and deceptive.

I had wrote in the hopes that Beatport perhaps offers some level of discount to people making fairly large purchases- most companies do. Commercial accounts are handled somewhat differently than casual consumer accounts, so I was wondering if there was another discount to be offered by Beatport. It doesn't sound like this is the case. I did not expect to have a level 1 promotional period followed immediately by another level 1 promotional period, not only making me not able to access the level 2 promotional discount, but since I used the level 1 during the previous promotional period in a rush because the timer at the bottom of the site only showed a few hours remaining, I'm unable to even get that level of discount. I wasn't going to commit to making this larger purchase so hastily if the level 1 period was about to expire, assuming that the reasonable expectation is that another level 1 period would immediately follow, making me ineligible for a level 1 discount, and no level 2 discount offered alternatively. Very disappointing.

I will however, after having so much difficulty, and having to explain so much detail, cut and paste this experience and dialogue in the form of a public review on some of the organizations forums and social media. I’m very disappointed in the lack of clarity in your consumer promotions.

Best,
Michael Galipeau.

BEWARE!!! Check you get all your files.

BEWARE!!! Check you get all your files.

Beatport Pro does not always display ALL the songs you have purchased - so you will never actually receive everything that you have paid for. They acknowledged the bug is in their software but don't really give a damn about it. Clicking each individual track to download from their website is painful and can't create a proper folder structure.

I used to love this website - but I've got better things to do than throw money away just because they can't write a decent app to download the music you've paid for.

I have used Beatport for many years

I have used Beatport for many years. Recently, they sent me an advert that offered me a 50% discount if I spent sixty DOLLARS - it said exactly this: "Limited to one purchase. Lossless fees are not included in the offer. *equivalent to same amount ($60, $30 and $20) in £, € and AU$."

I spent £48.02, which at that time was over $61. I did not buy any lossless tracks.

However, 'Jacob' from the inappropriately named, 'Customer Care' told me: "When it says *equivalent to the same amount ($60, $30, and $20) in £, €, and AU$, that means £60, £30, or £20, or €60, €30, or €20, not the amount equivalence." and he would not budge. I have spoken to many people and shown them this and they all agree that I am right - I DID satisfy the requirement. Jacob said he'd only do it if I spent £11.98 MORE!

This has turned into a greedy, inflexible, devil-may-care outfit that makes offers using confusing language in order to avoid honouring them. I would definitely urge people to avoid them.

Beware of redownload policy

I used to be able to recommend this site wholeheartedly, however they have changed their policies to not allow redownload of your purchased files outside of a 30 day period. It essentially means you are renting your music, and if you lose it from your computer, you have to repurchase it. Note that this policy is new in the last couple of years and Beatport gave no notification of the change to their terms of service, nor allowed any time for users to backup their files before the change. For this reason I would not recommend using this service.

Decent selection but lost its integrity

You can get pretty much anything you want on Beatport but it's not what it was. Something very dodgy and corrupt going on with the recommendations, pushing all the cheesiest EDM all the time. That's what I don't trust about it. Rich get richer, lesser-known artists remain on the breadline. Still. If you search, you find.

Best side for HQ-music

I Download some songs on beatport and they are in best quality (320kbs) not like iTunes (256). Only the tax gives a star minus, if I buy a song for 1,30€ the tax would be on 0,30€. Not very good!
But beatport is a way better than iTunes!

Amazing!

I can always rely on beatport to have all the new house and trance music that I love. The prices are reasonable and the website itself it easy to use. Makes life a lot easier when mixing as well as I can just search the top downloads for some decent songs to add in.

Favourite site for tunes!

I've been using Beatport for the last 4 years and in my opinion they are the best online distributor for electronic music. The newly developed site is so easy to navigate! One of the most useful features of the site is the way that the player keeps all the tracks that you have recently played so it's really handy when browsing through hundreds of tracks! I find the genre browsers very well organised and i also find the DJ charts very useful when finding new tracks!

I've never had any issues purchasing or downloading from Beatport, and the way it remembers your card details for your account is really handy, when you're in a rush to grab a tune before you're rushing for a set i know i can get it quickest from Beatport! I also find the prices very competative compared to other download sites.

Keep it up!

Number 1 purchasing site

Using site heavily for DJ-ing activities, and am statisfied.

Usually, purchasing goes without problems. When problems do occur, aftersales brings a speedy and effective solution to the issue.
Only down-side is the sometimes unfortunate choiche of placement of the preview option.
