Perfect draught keg price
I bought a perfect draught machine 3 years ago I was buying kegs on a regular basis, the taste difference from the keg compared to tins and bottles is amazing
Pub beer at home what more could I ask for but I noticed a few months ago the price for kegs were getting higher and higher that’s why my machine hasn't been used in 6 months a while back my local shop was selling short date kegs(2 weeks use by date) left on them buy one get one free now there must be some mark up on these kegs so why are beer hawk ripping loyal regular customers off with overinflated prices I bet I’m not the only one who has stopped buying these kegs I’m back on bottles and tins again for now.
Short dated kegs.
I'll be honest, I've had great service from this company a number of times - but it appears to be going backwards recently.
The original Perfect Draft machine was, and is, superb. The newer "Pro" model is in some ways a step forwards, but on the whole it is a step backwards. It's significantly larger than the older model, the new display on the front shows less information than the older model (How many days you have left to finish drinking the keg) and although it very much does chill the beer faster than the older model it's barely noticeable.
The "App" feels very much a gimmick, although I do like the fact that you can select what beer you've loaded and it can automatically set the temperature to the best for the beer keg you've loaded.
Whoever designed the front display should be ashamed though, it's nowhere near as nice as the one on the older model.
But, back to Beer Hawk (now called Perfect Draft) the company.
If you're buying a Perfect Draft machine then you need this company, they have the machines, but they're also pretty much the only supplier of the kegs within the U.K.
Once you've finished a keg you can return it for "beer tokens" that can give you a discount on your next order - but returning kegs has rarely been a smooth experience.
Often tokens are simply not credited, to be fair, the customer service have always resolved the issue - but it doesn't fill you with confidence. They also use Yodel as their courier and I've had so many issues with them (failing to turn up, turning up with a van that was full and no space to collect, losing the items and never returning them, etc....).
Anyway - 2 years ago I'd be leaving a four star review, they were great. The kegs would always arrive when they say they will, and the "use by" dates on the kegs would always have 4-6 months before they need drinking.
I ordered very recently (May 2023) and as per usual I ordered 6 kegs so I had a nice choice of beers to try. Unfortunately 75% of my order had less than 7 weeks before it needed to be drunk. Considering the kegs last 30 days once in the machine that's some serious drinking ahead to use them all in that time! Beer Hawk/Perfect Draft weren't overly interested in this and just stated that kegs have a minimum shelf life of 6 weeks (so 4 kegs that only have ONE additional week on them feels like really bad form).
I like to place a larger order, it's free delivery on £50 or over, but I won't be risking that moving forwards. Two kegs easily gets you over £50 so that's got to be my future plan.
It's all just bad form, but suddenly things feel a little bit suspicious. Removing the "drink by" countdown on the machine and selling kegs with a short shelf life isn't the premium product they claim it to be.
Add to that a few mishaps with social media, inviting everyone to a "live tasting" event at 7pm when the email was sent out after the event had finished - it's just all a bit disappointing.
An email response telling me the out of date kegs are "still safe" but may taste a little different isn't what I want to read about a premium product.
Really hoping they can make a comeback, they were great - definitely some work to do.
Returning kegs
Seriously you need to change your courier.
Our last keg return to a store wasnt received n nothing we could do once we'd handed it over.
This time we tried home collection n today is my 4th booking as courier never turns up
Shredded packaging, so, can't return empties
3rd time the cardboard box has arrived in shreds, so I have 9 kegs I can't return.
Very close to no longer using them.
This company is hopeless
This company is hopeless. Suddenly changed name to perfect draft and since then I am unable to speak to anyone human due to failed keg returns!! Too scared to order incase they fail to deliver and it’s a lot of money to lose! Really angry with these right now
1 star is too generous
This company offers a great product! If only a delivery would turn up! It's beyond a joke their distribution service. Ordered 4 days ago and it hasn't even made it as far as the courier. This is the 3rd time my order has been cocked up. Disaster of a company
You'll never receive your beer
How long do this company have left? Yodel keep "losing" the orders. It's a massive box with beer in it. Weird how they keep losing them...
3 times now I've ordered kegs and not received them. Ordered a week before the first bank holiday, received just a tap handle. Finally got past the bot on customer service and they said they'd expedite a new order. Got it this morning - another tap handle.
Honestly guys - find a new courier if Yodel is the issue.
I did not receive my delivery
I did not receive my delivery. I contacted their "customer service" after 1 week I was informed they would re-send the order. Still not received it. I have emailed them on several occasions and had no further response.
Simply awful customer handling
Terrible customer service, no acknowledgement of website enquiries, no telephone number and a useless BOT running the online chat that is cyclical in design and of no help at all.
Be good if someone else offered the kegs for sale as these guys are so bad at it
Poor customer service
Poor customer service. My order is one month later and no solution at all.
No phone number available.
2 previous delivery and now they can’t find my address anymore. Asked for a phone number and customer service doesn’t give me.
Non existant customer service
Useless. They shouldn't exist
Appallingly bad, practicality non-existent customer service, constantly getting deliveries wrong.
If it weren't for the fact that they supply a good product (more through luck than design I point out) then they wouldn't exist, they're simply too inept.
I look forward to a competitor coming along and kicking these clowns out of business.
Horrendous Customer Service and Constant Returns Issues.
Raised a Keg returns request but have to do it via the slow credit option as express credit option is greyed out (for some reason) due to a website error. Kegs collected but no credit awarded after 2 week. Try to chase via email, no reply for another 2 days (asking for tracking number as they cant see it...its clearly on my account under returns...). Provide them with the number (which they already have..) immediately. No reply (another day passes). Chase via email again, no reply for another day. Chase via chat bot, which just pushes you to the FAQ and closes the chat without speaking to a human. Raise another and manage to get through to a human after 30 mins. They say they will speak to returns department and should be sorted asap....wait another day, nothing.
Every return the same. Random express credit options available, numerous failed collections (after waiting in all day multiple times, lost returns and now no credit allocation.
Can you speak to anyone and get sorted..no. Makes me never want to buy another keg as I know I will waste hours trying to chase for returns or to get stupid issues sorted. It should just work, but it doesnt and the customer care department dont give 2 hoots.
Buyer beware they don’t seem to publish negative beer reviews
Long time user. Recently for the first time I decided to leave a review on a beer as it wasn’t good. Been couple of weeks and despite a couple of emails to perfect draft still not been published. However, more recent positive reviews have been. So either it never will be or it will be published too late for anyone to see it as more recent positive reviews come over the top of it. It was for magic rock chocolate stout by the way - much worse than Dark arts. Of course that’s just my opinion but potential purchasers deserve to see it as much as lots of reviews saying how great it is. Annoying they give so much blurb about building a community etc but then ignore their customers. And if they really are not publishing all reviews in a timely and consistent and fair manner then they should just turn the reviews off otherwise it is misleading their customers to buy products they may not have done so otherwise. In the end this type of behaviour will come back to bite them and surprised it is somehting their owner anheuser busch would put up with from a business ethics/ESG perspective. To fully test this I then posted a positive review and it has been uploaded within days but my lower rating review still hasn’t been published despite perfect draft saying they reviewed and published in date order.
As mentioned before customer service is…
As mentioned before customer service is non existent, don’t bother with tickets I’ve now got 3 not answered. Biggest gripe is shops refusing returns by yodel. Obviously not paid their bill!! Damned if I’m arranging a pick up from home where I’m getting up at 7 early and stopping in all day till 7 at night hoping for a pick up. This company is in the green slimy stuff!!! Biggest gripe is their total disregard for their customers.
Shocking service since Beer Hawk…
Shocking service since Beer Hawk changed over the 'not so' Perfect Draft. Multiple failed keg collections, 2-3 days for customer services to respond. Meaning weeks without any beer.
Then to top it all off - I ordered my kegs for the bank holiday weekend, in plenty of time for delivery. Delivery was guaranteed for the Thursday but of course no beers delivered. It's now 9 days since my order and still no beer! Making it almost 4 weeks now since my last keg ran out! Apparently the order was "marked as dispatched but unfortunately, it seems to be stuck in the courier's network".
How things can go so wrong is beyond me - the service used to be great. The CEO needs to have a serious look as what is going on because you will have no business or customers left at this rate.
I am now looking for an alternative machine and supplier.
Absolute 💩 show of a company
Absolute 💩 show of a company, sends out kegs with 3 weeks left on the date then try’s to say it’s the end of that month that is goes out of date so got more than 6 weeks left on the keg and isn’t classed as a short date! Even though I paid full price! Even if that is so and it has 7 weeks left on the keg, tell me one beer place or shop which sells any kind of beer which has only 7 weeks left on its use by date??? They all last months to s year at the least, beerhawk is expensive, terrible customer service, just totally ignores trading standards and consumer service standards, this will be the last time I order from these shower of clowns absolutely disgraceful company, nothing but trouble for the whole 3-4 years I’ve owned a perfect draft I am now officially done with the perfect draft because of this company 👋
Spring Reward Discount not applied Automatically
I bought extra kegs to guarantee 15% discount on all purchases over 3 kegs as part of the spring rewards discount and didn't have to be in multples of 3.
Discount to be applied automatically. It didn't...
When contacted customer services, they appears to know nothing about the "Spring Rewards Discount" and stated had to be in multiples of three. That is not what was promised or stated in the confirmation email.
A very good little company has become a…
A very good little company has become a very poor company with no focus on long term customers. Selling beers beyond their Best before date without informing the customer and then trying to explain that this is absolutely ok is not acceptable. This company, having started to focus on keg beers as opposed to wide ranging high quality canned and bottled beer has lost its way and treats long term customers despicably. Wont be using them again.
9 kegs ordered - NONE DELIVERED!
BH/PD's customer service has nose dived quicker than a kamikaze pilot.
Ordered 9 kegs for an easter bash on Good Friday. Should have been delivered on Monday 3rd April. YODEL (Ha Ha) emailed to say they had been delivered. However - No parcels left - but I got sent a photo of 3 PD boxes at a front door - Big problem NOT MY FRONT DOOR! Been trying since Monday to get Beer Hawk (No So Perfect Draft) to sort out the lost kegs in time for the Easter Bash. Just go round and round in circles creating more tickets trying to explain that YODEL have delivered the kegs to the wrong address. It's as simple as that - the kegs were never delivered to my house; nobody took them in for safe keeping; nobody nicked them off the doorstep - YODEL DELIVERED TO THE WRONG ADDRESS & TOOK A PHOTO (of the wrong house!)
So Thursday night 6th April - nothing from BH/PD/Yodel so I guess no beer for the bash tomorrow - At least my local offy has made a few bob. Think I'll give up with mail order beer!
