My contact with BHSF was something of a very pleasant surprise compared with the very impersonal customer contact arrangements other organisations seem to use.

Superb service …

I had submitted several online claims in one go for my husband's hospital stays and treatment and was very pleased to have Jacqueline Gosling-Simmonds at the other end of the line to talk me through the processes. Once all boxes had been ticked and questions answered, Jacqueline then went on to advise that my husband and I might think about using the other benefits included in our plan. The service offered by BHSF is brilliant and the fact I was able to talk to another human on the phone makes all the difference. None of this push button or yes/no to no-one in particular! My husband and I feel we have been given excellent service. We have been with this company for many years and not once have we been disappointed. Long may you continue to serve us and others in this manner.

Disgusting every time I fill in a claim…

Disgusting every time I fill in a claim it gets refused need more information even when u have sent all receipts in 3 times the u have to phone them they take £31 from my pay every month but you try and get a claim after having to speak to them you get ur money takes forever.

In order for our Claims Services Team to accurately assess any claim, certain criteria must always be evidenced on a receipt, such as: the insured person's name, the date of treatment, confirmation the full balance has been paid, itemised receipt confirming what has been purchased. This is why we clearly outline everything that's needed in our 'Terms Of Use,' so that Policyholder's know exactly what's needed when submitting a claim. If your claims were missing this information, they will be declined and require re-submitting correctly.

Steer Clear, unless you are in hospital several times a year!

They always, always looking for a reason not to pay out! The receipt is not to their liking. Your date is wrong. But oh by Christ, they're not so slow on premium payment day! The money is gone, from your account. Before you have time to pay it in! No good if you go dentist at few times a year. Or the Chiropodist. They pay the minimum, whilst taking as much as possible off you! It started out as a non profit making organisation. Now, grab, grab, grab!

Very efficient service

It’s so easy to submit an online claim. An email confirming receipt of the claim is sent immediately and settlement is made within days. Excellent service.

Unfortunately, bank/ receipt/ card receipts are not accepted when submitted on their own, as they're missing a lot of basic information needed to prove a claim is legitimate (e.g. an Insured Person's name, details of what has been purchased, confirmation the full balance has been paid, therapists registration details). Policyholder's will always need to obtain a full receipt, but if you're ever in difficulty, or are unsure of the information we need to assess a claim, please get in touch with our Helpdesk where we'll do what we can to assist.

Restrictive for sports massage

The list of approved industry bodies for sports massage is restrictive and uses bodies that either have woeful search facilities or practitioners that are 45 minutes away when I have vastly more qualified people close by that I trust that I cannot use. An enquiry into this went unanswered.

Our list of 'accepted professional registers' is something we regularly review, but it's sadly not possible to give an immediate response on a query as to whether or not a new register will be instantly accepted. If you have any professional registers you'd be willing to recommend as something we could potentially include in the future, please get in touch with our Helpdesk directly and we'll see what we can do. Sadly, we can't cover them all, as the premiums for such a plan would be extreme, but if enough policyholders contact us about a certain register, this is always helpful to assist in the decision.

I have always received quick resolution…

I have always received quick resolution from the BHSF helpdesk team, as well as the BHSF After Sales Team. Recently I got in touch with the helpdesk team, and Neil Ryder was very helpful with our request and provided a resolution the same day. I was also assisted by Rebecca Watson from the After Sales Team who also provided a resolution on the same day.
