Visited this store today, with my wife who needed new ferrules for her walking sticks . On arrival we were met with a friendly welcome from staff on the ground floor . We asked for replacement ferrules, instantly Andrew said they were on the 1st floor . He requested we take a seat & proceed up the stairs & returned with the ferrules & fitted them onto my wife’s poles . This allowed us to venture out onto the wet pavements without the poles slipping . We were very impressed with Andrew & his colleague quality of service. A refreshing experience thanks

Top floor Dan was very knowledgeable and patient talking me through the technical aspects of waterproof jackets. Dan was interested in understanding what I needed the jacket for and helped guide me to the range of jackets that best suited my needs. There was no pressure from Dan to buy, he encouraged me to try on a few different jackets and made sure I was comfortable and happy with my eventual purchase. If he hadn't taken the time to explain things to me, I would have left the store without a purchase and gone home to spend hours on the internet trying to understand waterproof jackets instead.

Dan, on the top floor, was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - we were very glad to follow his advice (and learned a very handy tip about being able to get Rab to re-waterproof items!)

Daniel K was so patience and helpful whilst I tried to decide what shoes to get lol. He had great customer service and I left happy… Will return again!

We came to the store on Argyle St, Glasgow to buy new footwear for a walking holiday. We were welcomed into the store which was a nice touch. Once we had picked out our choices we approached Rachel to find the correct sizes for us and to try on the shoes. She was lovely. Very friendly and attentive. She explained everything well and after a few trips back and forth we found the right sizes. She dealt with us so well that we found just what we needed in excellent time and purchased walking shoes and boots. They're great quality and we look forward to wearing them on our trip. The prices were very reasonable and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. All our questions were answered quickly and correctly. We left feeling very happy. Top marks for hassle free shopping.

I recently visited the Blacks shop on Argyle Street to find a quality pair of trail shoes I was having trouble finding the day before in other shops.
I was welcomed by one of the staff as soon as I walked in and explained what I was looking for.
They showed the options available and explained what was likely best, given my preferences and as luck would have it, my size was available for the 2 pairs I tried on which for me, and how much I find shopping to be laborious and tiresome, was a relief and helped tremendously by the knowledge and guidance of Liz.
She wasn’t trying to sell me anything but simply help me and she did exactly that in what I can only sum up as a great visit to this store and I appreciate her help very much. I will be back for anything else I need for future outdoorsy ventures!

Liz was very helpful offering advice on some walking sandals I was looking to buy. Rachel at the till point was also very friendly and even gave me some tips for an upcoming trip to Malta 😊 would definitely return, never felt pressured and staff all made us feel like valued customers.
