I purchased an engagement ring that cost over $10,000 from Blue Nile and it was one of the worst mistakes of my life. To explain the 2.5 month ordeal would take too long, so I'll summarize the best I can. The craftsmanship of the engagement ring I purchased was pathetic. The ring had to be returned 2 times to correct the issue, and as I type this I still don't know if the repair is being done properly and it will need to be sent back a third time! The customer service has been mediocre at best. And if all that isn't horrible enough, I could not propose on the date I wanted to and the trip I planned for the proposal was ruined. I will never purchase another thing from this awful business and will make a point to share my opinion with anyone who will listen. And finally, if you don't learn from my mistake and purchase something from Blue Nile, I wish you the best of luck, as you'll need it.
AND regarding your reply, I did not "work with you" regarding the repair, I was forced to put up with your incompetence. Because...... if I didn't, I'd be stuck giving my girlfriend a defective (for lack of a better word) looking engagement ring. In addition, you did not make "improvements" to the ring. You "fixed" your mistake.......and it took three (yes 3) tries to get it correct. You people are a nightmare!! And good attempt at putting a spin on my complaint, so to make you look less guilty of being a bunch of screw-ups. Oh, and regarding your statement "If there is anything further, we can do to assist you, please let us know", there is.........You can reimburse me financially for the planned trip that you ruined, where I planned on proposing to my girlfriend. Which I could not do, as the ring had to be returned to you for repair and was not finished before we left! I think we're done talking at this point. Take care!

Mark was very knowledgeable, took his time to explain the difference with the various styles of wedding bands my fiancé and I were looking to purchase. Mark was very thorough. In so much, I knew my ring size and his words to me were “ Let me just check again to make sure of the accuracy”. That small attention to detail wad important to me. My fiance purchased my engagement ring which needed to be resized and came back beautifully.
We then purchased our wedding bands on November 22nd. I purchased (2) bands for myself and (1) for my fiance. He was sized in store and when his came in, it was way too big. He was measured again and we sent his ring back to be resized. My (2) bands were sent back to be soldered together.
We were notified that the rings had arrived and drove the hour to pick them up on February 14th. Mine in fact, had not arrived and they could not give me a status or estimate of arrival. My fiance's ring was once again - too big. He was measured a THIRD time but we could not have his ring resized - we were told we had to return his ring and purchase another. We were told we would be credited in "a few" business days.
We were notified that the rings came in and went to pick them up on March 4th. Finally, his ring fit and my 2 bands were there as well. This process took OVER 3 MONTHS since ordering in November.
As of today (March 11, 2026) - the credit for the returned ring has still not hit my credit card, nearly one month after the return was made. This is unacceptable. I have been in touch with the retail store several times - which has consisted of me emailing and calling and asking for follow up. This has turned what should be a happy and exciting experience into frustration and disappointment. I love my engagement ring and wish my following experiences mirrored my initial experience. The process was so great and seamless which prompted us to purchase our wedding bands from the same location.
It should not have taken (3) attempts for my fiance to be sized properly. I should not have been told that my rings were in store and ready for pick up when they were not. And it should not take (3) weeks and counting to be refunded for a product that has been returned.

The item I ordered was poorly designed. It literally pinched and hurt my earlobe. Return order initiation was unnecessarilty difficult and unhelpful. After chatting and speaking with multiple agent and they finally sent me return label. The item has been returned and delivered to return address more than two weeks ago. They still have neither notified me of return process or issued a refund. It was a horrible expereince.

We had a terrible customer service experience. The associate helping was very rude, uninterested and not well versed with the product.
She was irritated to answer even the basic questions and many times gave us completely wrong information about the metal type and size.
Even when the product was shipped to the store, we never received any updates on the pickup schedule.
This was supposed to be once in a lifetime wedding ring purchase and sadly we were left with a poor taste in mouth with Blue Nile.

Blue Nile is too careless with your money considering they sell many products over $1000. We bought a very expensive pair of earrings as a birthday present and were charged immediately even though the earrings took over 4 weeks to ship (missing the birthday by the way). We decided not to keep the earrings and returned them within the 30 day period. Now it's been almost 4 weeks since the return has been received and still no refund. So we're going on 3 months of loaning BN more than $1000 without any product. I will not trust Blue Nile with my money again.

The return processing time is ridiculous. I ordered 1 carst in and out hoops they were smaller than described so I ordered 2 carats ones and sent the 1 carat back over two weeks ago, still waiting for my refund
