I bought a keyboard for my iPad Air 2 a…
I bought a keyboard for my iPad Air 2 a couple of years ago. Several months later the pressure of the clamps caused a screen fault - zooming in and out spontaneously plus ‘automatic’ typing and menu choices - which made it impossible to use at times: I had to work with the iPad half in and half out of the clamps. The little rubber pads at the corners all fell off - repeatedly. The surface of the keys wore off - albeit I used the iPad every day, extensively - so there were illuminated holes instead of letters.
Last year I upgraded to an iPad Pro, and bought a magic keyboard to go with it. Which although expensive is superb by comparison, and a year on has no faults nor failings at all.
This week I decided to dispose of the iPad Air 2 and the Brydge keyboard. I was disturbed to be told that the keyboard was a health hazard, the battery had malfunctioned, expanded and was forcing the cover off the rear of the keyboard. Unbelievable.
Good luck getting what you paid for
Original post below.
I’m going to bump the score by one point because the item came and it is very nice. I have a hard time recommending them though as customer service is abysmal and for something fragile like battery operated electronics such as this, customer service is where most of the value is. It’s sad that they can’t seem to get this right as they do seem to make very good products.
Original post: I honestly can’t say if the new iPad Pro Max+ Keyboard is good or not but what I can say is that their customer support is beyond lousy. They had no problem with immediately taking my money on the pre-order but what little they’ve posted on ship dates has changed multiple times and now we’re a week and a half after they promised to ship all of the 2 month old pre-orders and the last thing they said about that was a few days before that date. They don’t respond to email, they don’t answer the phone, on the rare occasion they deign to answer a Facebook post or Tweet it’s usually to people that drank their Kool-aid already. They very rarely answer a complaint on posts and on the rare occasion they do, it’s a canned message to contact their support team and it will get taken care of but of course that can’t happen if support never gets back to customers. The keyboard on paper looks really nice and the reviews on it from tech journalists that received early review keyboards was great but $249 is a lot of money for a peripheral if there isn’t going to be halfway decent support when things inevitably break and it’s even worse when they’ve taken the money and not shipped the product. I understand COVID and the chip shortage and a delay wouldn’t be unreasonable if they actually explained things weren’t going as planned because of that stuff but the only excuse they have online is shipping is a challenge right now which would be way more believable if they had sent a tracking number already. The carrier has nothing to do with things until they have and order to pickup and a tracking number has been generated. Before that, it’s all on Brydge. I’m about to cancel the order if it doesn’t ship tomorrow and I’m guessing that I will need to do it through my credit card company since they never respond to requests or answer the phone and there’s no way to manage and order on their website. All your can do is look at it. These people act like they’re still a Kickstarter company instead of and ongoing concern and that’s a problem. Big surprise that they moved to the land of scams and pyramid schemes, the “Great” state of Utah.
AVOID AVOID AVOID
It all looks nice, fancy and professional but if you hit an issue there is literally no support, on for an hour and 3 generic responses but no further forward. The Pro dock is not pro at all, its really shocking and wont support 2 displays - avoid this company at all costs
Good Products (if they make it), terrible service and support
Bought a dock for my 16in Macbook. Delivery day came and went and contacted support. After a week i got a response that there was a delay and it would be out that week for me. Another week passed and no dock. Contacted support again but no response. Requested a refund, again no response. After a further week i got a delivery notification and the dock did arrive, almost a month later than it should have.
Dock itself is great and works well, they have also fixed the dock operation to make it smoother. I dread something going wrong with it though given the lack of customer service
Sadly after 6 months of use my hinge…
Sadly after 6 months of use my hinge broke off, I advised brydge and was told by a customer service rep the unit was not warranties for this as it was abuse, I argued my point to get no where and threw the unit out figuring I got screwed, I saw a recent ad about them for sale and left a comment about my experience and was now told they would warranty it, At this point I e thrown it away and they “ show no record” of my call and so I’m right back to being screwed , save you headache and money and buy something else , I don’t recommend
Can I actually have my product, this year?!
Ordered a vertical 16” charger in November 2020. For delivery in January 2021... a wait to be expected but it’s now MARCH and I don’t have anything. 3 months + turn around? I’ve spoken to their customer services team
Who continue to assure me it will be ‘shipped’ this week, every week I enquire. Shipped from where the moon? Actually very dissatisfied before even getting the thing, as I trust it will be a great product, it better be the best thing to ever arrive with such a wait, you can build a car and have it delivered faster. Sort it out.
Do not waste your time till the update…
Do not waste your time till the update which is 2 months away. Glitchy touchpad and Brydge admit on an abstract section of the website that they will not release a patch except for beta users which is completely useless and lazy. All the nice features of the Ipad Pro go to waste with shoddy product release. I'm sure they will blame each other but walk away from this item.
3 Months - Never Received Order
I ordered a vertical dock on Nov 3rd 2020, as of Feb 2, it still has not been shipped. They charged my credit card though, so I have asked to cancel my order.
3 Months And Item still Hasn’t Shipped!
I purchased a MacBook Pro 16” vertical dock in November 2020 and I still don’t have it. It’s been a whole 3 months. A WHOLE 3 MONTHS!!! To add to the inconvenience, Brydge customer service is the absolute worst ever!!!!
Two months later still haven't received…
Two months later still haven't received an item that I paid for. No information from the sellers, no updates. Hands down worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.
Best customer service experience
This has been my best customer service department I have ever dealt with. I have a Brydge Pro + keyboard for my surface. It was sbout 2 years old and I lost the cable that charges the keyboard and accesses the disk drive. I called to find how much it would cost me for a new cable. They just sent me the new cable no charge.
Bad service, good product
I actually liked the product so much but my experience with brydge.com was negative. I found that they review every request to return a device and make a decision case by case basis. In my case I wanted to purchase the same product but through a different vendor. Brydge only offers shipping for returns it deems eligible. Okay, sure, fine. What really erks me is what happens next. Brydge.com then prompted me to provide a review for their service. I explained that the product arrived quickly and as described, but that customers should thoroughly review return policies so they didn’t end up in my situation. Brydge.com REMOVED my review I’m guessing because it didn’t fit into their agenda...
bad hinge design
bad hinge design. breaks easily with regular use. company won't stand behind product or offer repair service.
Product was not shipped until prompted…
Product was not shipped until prompted 5 days later via email. On arrival, keyboard was faulty - e.g on occasion key strokes would not register, or they would register multiple times.
Upon emailing Brydge they requested I send a video to prove it was having issues.
When asking for a refund you are charged to ship as well as a “7.5% restocking fee”.
Wish I had checked TrustPilot first, I would recommend anyone to instead spend the bit extra and go with a name brand such as Logitech.
Looks great however seems to have a common mode of failure
I purchased 2 Keyboards for Ipad Pro 12.9".... for 2 ipads we have at home and both failed within a month of each other just after the warranty period expired, both in exactly the same way, the hinge that connects the ipad to the keyboard has a small weak pin that broke when opening, despite never having a lot of use. Really poor quality which is a huge shame as the product is a great idea and looks superb. I regret not purchasing the Apple keyboard.
AVOID: Good item until it failed, then no support at all.
I bought the Brydge 12.9" Pro Plus new from an ebay seller. It was great for just under a month and then the left hinge snapped.
No worries I thought and contacted support. They asked for my proof of purchase which I supplied. They responded that they would not help me because I didn't buy from them or a selected list of resellers. Bearing in mind the product hasn't even been on the market for a year, this is them grasping to get out of any support cases that they can. Disappointing and to add further insult to injury, they offered a voucher for money off the purchase of another unit via their website..
Anyway, don't buy from Brydge. You'll end up with a £200+ paperweight and a sour taste in your mouth from the treatment.
Zero customer support
Zero customer support from this company. Emailed them a couple of times about the issues of the Brydge Pro+ keyboard. None of my emails received any reply.
Their products such as Brydge Pro+ (over £200) is not cheap and you would expect at least a decent customer support. But none whatsoever.
A total disappointment and waste of money.
One of the worst customer service I…
One of the worst customer service I have ever experienced!!!!!
Even after sending reminder after reminder still no response
2020 compatible cover for IPad Pro 12.9 is just not good enough , design is faulty and cover too flimsy, Comes off easily even with the slightest of touch
The build quality of the actual key pad is good but that’s the only positive thing about this company
Without doubt the worst purchasing…
Without doubt the worst purchasing experience ever, think there is only one person who works in customer services and with the rubbish they push out as a company she must be over worked. I don’t know where to start so all I would say is buy from anywhere except Brydge, the fact they can’t spell Bridge says it all.
The worst keyboard I’ve owned
The worst keyboard I’ve owned - keys are sluggish and sometimes don’t react when typing unless typing really really hard - and I generally don’t go lite on the keyboard. I fell for the otherwise luxurious aluminium design with smart functions and backlite keyboard to make my Ipad more like my previous Macbook Air. An expensive keyboard - the Brydge promised allot. As someone who writes allot, the sluggish keys ruined my eperience. If you actually want to use the Brydge keyboard to more than just holding up your Ipad when sitting in a sofa - dont get the Brydge!
