Dear Mr Wingate,

We are extremely disappointed to read this review, as it does not accurately reflect what took place and gives a misleading impression of our business.

The vehicle was purchased via a Carwow online auction, with collection correctly scheduled for 17 December, under a standard nationwide collection window of 9:00am–5:00pm. As clearly explained at the time of booking and in line with Carwow procedures, our driver was required to make contact the evening before collection to confirm timing before travelling a considerable distance from Manchester to Gloucester.

In accordance with this process, our driver made numerous attempts to contact you the evening before collection, using the only telephone number provided on the Carwow job. These attempts included nine phone calls and two text messages, none of which received a response. Without confirmation, the driver could not reasonably travel or book onward transport, and therefore the collection could not proceed.

You later advised that an alternative contact number had been emailed to our buying team. While this number was received internally, it is important to clarify that drivers do not have access to internal emails and must work solely from the contact details shown on the Carwow system, which cannot be amended by us once a job is live. Unfortunately, the updated number was never reflected on the Carwow job, leaving the driver with no alternative way to make contact.

This was not a failure to attend, nor a lack of respect for your time. It was a collection that could not go ahead due to the absence of confirmation despite repeated attempts to contact you using the only details available to the driver. This limitation has now been escalated with Carwow, as it is outside of our control, and we are understandably unhappy to receive a negative review for a system issue we do not manage.

We have retained full evidence, including screenshots of all call attempts, text messages, and the Carwow job details, all of which have been provided to Trustpilot. We also made repeated attempts to resolve this amicably and to rearrange the collection, but unfortunately have received no response.

We would therefore encourage readers to also review our Google reviews, where they can clearly see the consistently high level of service we provide and the positive experiences shared by the vast majority of our customers.

We take our reputation extremely seriously and strongly disagree with the suggestion that we “do not honour agreements” or are “time wasters.” This review is based on an incorrect understanding of events and does not reflect the standards we uphold or the experience of our wider customer base.
