We had an excellent and impressive experience with Nafeesa and her assistant Farah at Chadwick Lawrence!

From the moment they received our file, they acted with real speed and efficiency, helping us navigate a very pressured purchase with tight timescales due to the property being part-exchange.

Both were incredibly responsive, often replying within the same day, and kept us regularly updated throughout the process. As first-time buyers, their clear guidance and reassurance made a huge difference and gave us real confidence at every stage.

Howard took over the administration of an estate after our initial lawfirm had failed to deal with matters, and then send in an estimate which was completely off the scale.
He gave a firm estimate which we agreed, and dealt with all of the work to necessary to conclude the estate exactly as he had suggested. Within a short time he had spoken to all the beneficiaries, finalised the tax position and made the final distribution. A 'class act'!

My husband and I decided it was time to update our wills, and appt was quickly made,then from initial appt to returning to sign,it took just a couple of weeks

I had a transfer of equity/ownership case that also included Help to Buy. My case was assigned to Ruksar.

The service I received was very poor and the experience was incredibly stressful, I would not recommend.

The communication was very bad, it was hard to get an answer to phone calls and emails. Eventually when you do get through they only partially answered questions. Since I've worked with other solicitors/firms which have provided a much better service where regular updates are given.

I was lied to on several occasions, for example I was told they were chasing help to buy on a weekly basis. When I called help to buy they told me the last call logged from the solicitor was over 2 months ago. Causing more delays.

Many errors were made, including simple errors such as putting incorrect addresses / names on legal documents.

It seemed like they did not know the legal process, and we were both learning the next steps of the process at the same time, even though the solicitor is meant to be the expert.

I was also told their method of dealing with Help to Buy was "Trial and Error", this seemed shocking, and meant they sent several letters to Help to Buy with different figures and waited to see which one Help to Buy accepted. As they did not know how to calculate the additional borrowing / redemption figures.

They did not know how essential figures needed for the documents were calculated, after I spoke to the bank/lender and Help to Buy, I found out these were very simple calculations, and then I had to tell the solicitor how they were calculated.

The fees I ended up paying were also triple the amount of the fixed fee quote I got at the start of the process. They did not mention the amount of the additional costs to me until the day of completion when the funds were required, and I was then threatened to either pay or not complete, and after months of delays I had no time and no option to dispute any fees. When I asked about fees prior to this I was told they don't know the amounts and would get back to me, but they never did.

The whole process took over a year. I paid the initial deposit to Chadwick Lawrence on 10/04/2024 and legal completion was 21/10/2024, however the further issues to change ownership with Help to Buy, the management company, the freeholder, land registry etc. were only completed on 09/06/2025 over a year after starting the process, and I was initially quoted only a few months.

Overall there were many mistakes and delays by the solicitor that could have been avoided.

The Apps worked very well. Communication is excellent and safe. Lynda was very accessible. She left a note and directions whilst away. Engagement was respectful but thorough. I could ask any questions. I will certainly refer anyone in need of conveyancing to Chadwick Lawrence

I dealt with Abigail Capstick, in all of my years of dealing with solicitors I have never experienced such good service and efficiency through every step of the process.

AVOID! REALLY AWFUL COMMUNICATION. I got recommended them, but I had two other friends who had other solicitors who were much more proactive. I had to keep chasing and generally had a really poor experience especially for buying a house the first time. I am a healthcare professional and I understand the need for proper communication. I felt like I did not receive the service that I paid for. The reception staff were also really unhelpful, saying ‘there’s nothing we can do, just drop an email’. It’s not ideal and feel they are over capacity! Not sure why jobs are being accepted if they can’t cope. It was such a shame that my first experience through the process was not as positive.

Joe at Chadwick Lawrence was Very efficient and fully explained the process on how to get a deed of assignment .It was completed within the timescale and cost was very competitive as I had shopped around.I would thoroughly recommend this company .
