A dreadful experience

A dreadful experience. Started last Autumn. Too many Third Party Contractors. Total lack of internal communication was evident alongside appalling communication with me the Client. Terrible experience and I would not recommend Chesneys at all.

Flawless service for log burner installation

My second installation of a Chesney's log burner and it was flawless. Excellent communication from both the Chesney's office and from the fitter. An initial site visit was conducted promptly and a detailed explanation was given On the day of installation all went well with the fitters working tidily and swiftly. A beautiful finish to the remodelled fireplace and a quick test of the log burner left me a very, very satisfied customer.

Great Product, Great Service

Bought a couple Chesneys fireplaces. Both fireplaces are lovely. However, what was really exceptional was the service. Despite multiple changes / tweaks from us, nothing was too much trouble and all questions were answered quickly. Would definitely recommend Chesneys.

An absolute joy! Having our new Chesney has been one of…

Having our new Chesney has been one of the most satisfying additions to our new home. The build quality and overall appearance is just what we wanted. Lighting this wood burner gives us so much pleasure and although comparatively small gives out an exceptional heat and is a joy to look at. Thanks Chesney.

An outstanding and comprehensive service

Chesneys provided an excellence service from the very start of our dealings with them. The site visit to our home and expert advice on our requirement was followed by a prompt estimate and schedule of works. This allowed us to plan a program which involved four different services - chimneysweep, carpet fitters, installers and the Chesney product team. They were always available on the phone to answer any queries we had, make recommendations for other service suppliers and to guide us through the various phases. The result was a seamless hitch-free experience with all the timelines being met and the costs coming in on target with the estimate. The log fire is working a treat. Chesneys are deservedly a worthy recipient of a 5 star grading.

Bio Ethanol Burner Fail

The product never worked. No replacement possible as all faulty - word has it that Chesneys are going to have to make a new model to rectify the inherent fault. No information coming from sales reps. Info black out for nearly quarter of a year - not good

Poor Quality Products & Customer Service

We bought a Chesneys Beaumont Gas Stove for £3k because we wanted what we thought would be a good quality product. How far from the truth could we have been. On installation the Stove was faulty and has never worked due to a faulty burner. After contacting Heat Depot and Chesneys direct it became apparent that nobody was interested in resolving the issue swiftly. 5 weeks later and the faulty Stove is still not operational. From this experience I have found Chesneys to be very subgrade and poor quality products backed up by a very poor customer service who act like the end consumer doesn't matter. I would urge people to spend their hard earned money on other products rather than Chesneys.

However I do have to stress that a replacement burner was dispatched to your trade stockist 2 working days after the fault was reported to us, we really did try to resolve your issue in a timely matter. I would be interested to have more details of the 5 weeks you have mentioned in your review.

Fireplace install

Fireplace install

Nicholas was a pleasure to work with and his knowledge and expertise helped me choose the right fireplace for my bedroom. From start to finish the project was expertly managed - site visits were conducted in a timely fashion and the install team were professional and courteous - they made sure everything was cleaned up after the install and even hoovered my hallway where they had brought in the materials and equipment!

Couldn't be more pleased with my experience and will be working with Chesneys again in the future :)

3 months and waiting to use our new fire

3 months and we are still waiting for a replacement to a faulty part to be able to use our new fireplace that’s still under warranty! We have paid for a fire that is unfit for purpose and Chesney seem not to care enough to want to fix it.

Bought a gas fire place from a supplier of Chesney stoves in 2022, worked fine for the first winter and then subsequently has not worked for the winter of 2023/24.
After reviewing the error code which did not appear in the trouble shooting manual we reported the issue to Chesney in November 2023, and were told to get a plumber to review the error. Our plumber found that parts of the system had failed and needed to be replaced.
We have been waiting for these parts from Chesney for over two months and Chesney do not seem to give one dot of care or respect to the fact we have a fire that is totally redundant in the months of the year we actually need it.
Poor customer service and clearly poor quality

Elemental Manhattan: Beware!

If you are considering purchasing an Elemental Manhattan fireplace from Chesneys I urge you to re-consider.
We are undertaking a full house renovation and purchased a fireplace which we had seen online. The fireplace was fitted whilst the house was not habitable and so we did not view the final product until the work was complete.
The marketing material shows a beautiful unblemished product. The small print tells you that as the stone is natural, there may be some minor differences to the images shown.
Unfortunately the 'minor differences' on the product we have purchased look like deeply entrenched mould positioned right at the top in the centre of the fireplace.
Surely we thought, Chesneys would accept the product is not as advertised and will replace it without charge. After all, who wants a £3k mouldy fireplace!
Sadly no, we have been told the product is perfectly saleable and a replacement will cost £850!
We are in the process of trying to re-coup our costs through a legal process but in conclusion, do not buy a fireplace without seeing the exact product first or you could be in for a nasty surprise!!!

The fireplace in question was purchased via your interior designer, not via Chesney’s.

All our fireplaces pass through a detailed quality control process before dispatch. Having reviewed the images provided, we are confident this fireplace is in line with the variation you can expect from a natural material.

Having not been involved in any communication between yourself & your interior designer we are unsure if they accurately explained the nature of variances you could expect before you made your purchase, however what we can confirm is that the information was passed to them, based on your review we can only assume they didn’t relay this to you.

As a good will gesture we offered to swap the fireplace with the only cost being the labour which was offered at a discounted rate. Note this was offered as a goodwill gesture as opposed to an admission of fault with the product.

Should you wish to proceed with a swap please don’t hesitate to get back in touch.

After Sales Service.

I've owned an 8kw Chesneys stove for 8 years now. Stove has been faultless (pretty much on every day through autumn /winter.) I had an issue with it burning to fast, I contacted Chesneys to explain the fault, Stuart - Customer Service / Technical Support Manager was brilliant. He sourced a replacement part and sent detailed instructions on fitting. 1st class service.
Would I buy Chesneys again? Yes!

Love love my wood burner

Thanks so much for my wood burner I absolutely love it. It’s quality and performance is amazing. Couldn’t resist lighting it even in the hot weather and it did not disappoint.

just really personable, lovely people to work with - note to self, feeling a bit down, have a chat with the Chesney team! Delivery guys wonderful too. Not in a hurry - tick, didn't leave any rubbish to get rid of - tick, very knowledgeable about the product - tick!
