VERY IMPORTANT IF ADDING THE HOT TUB.....PLEASE READ TO ENSURE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO YOU OR YOUR LITTLE ONES!

We stayed in the below apartment 9th-16th July and it was a fantastic place, However it has now become apparent there was a major issue/concern with the Hot Tub provided in this apartment.
I went in the Hot tub on the Saturday we arrived for 5mins and sunday for about 10 mins and by the Monday I had huge blisters and sores all down in my private area! I have been in ALOT of other hot tubs so I just thought I was unlucky and had an allergic reaction to possibly the chemicals used in the hot tub. But as nobody else in the family had an issue I decided to just stay out of it for the rest of the holiday. The next day I started getting a strange rash on my body which again I thought was due to the use of the hot tub.I used some cream and it seemed to not spread but the next day it looked like little blisters and was very rough to touch. So I just again thought it was an allergic reaction to the hot tub! But nobody else had anything so just kept an eye on myself.
On the Tuesday my family went to go into the hot tub in the evening and as it was VERY hot all day and the temp was saying 43 degrees which was SO hot, baring in mind I have a 4yr old and 2 7yrs olds it was way to hot!.....So we messaged the owner the next day and she had confirmed she had already been to check the levels in the hot tub and noticed it was reading 43 so the pre set level was checked and it was set at 36. This pre set level did not change however it was a very hot day. We had recieved a card through the letter box confirming all levels had been checked, however, They would also pop in that night to re check things.....When she came she confirmed she had never seen the hot tub that hot before and to just keep the lid off for a while to see if the temp would drop (which it did after about an hour being off). This had to be done every day to keep the temp down in the hot tub...So from this point in our minds everything had been checked and everything was OK.
Since we have been home my daughter (7yr old) now has a rash and what looks like burnt skin around her private area and it is horrendous! She has blisters all over her vulva and she is in so much pain and cannot wee without excruciating pain!. She also has a swollen throat and very swollen glands, which again can be caused by using a poorly maintained hot tub!...My daughter has had to be prescribed anti biotics along with steriod creams and epimax to get this under control....Believe me when I say this has been an horrific situation to go through..I have also been prescribed steroid cream for the rashes and I am currently taking medicaton for the soreness all over my private area.
This is a very serious concern and I am dealing with alot of poorly people in my house due to this and none of the symptoms are easing at this moment in time. I have also been told if my daughter doesn't improve she needs to go to A&E.
We paid an additional £110 to enjoy a family hot tub but has resulted in my family being hurt a great deal!
I am very worried about myself and my child and this needs to be addressed incase it happens to anybody else as I am going through hell at this moment in time!
.....When I informed choice cottages of this they said they would look into this matter and get back to me with the results....After numerous calls and emails with no response my husband finally got through to someone for an update...It was stated to him that there were rules in relation to uising the hot tub and you do this at your own risk! Nothing in relation to daily checks being carried out to ensure correct PH levels ......I have had no apology and they have completely ignored my calls and mails up until today with the above response!
Please be careful when adding the hot tub onto this apartment as it is VERY POORLY MAINTAINED! My symptoms are still here and I have scaring from the rash and I am on alot of medication to get back to normal....

Disappointing. We’ve used Choice Cottages quite a lot over recent years and they’ve always been good, however this is the first time we’ve had to complain and their customer services is really bad. The cottage (The Stables Georgeham) we booked had mouldy shower heads, tiles and shower cubicles - oh and dirt under the beds. Bunk beds that have mattresses on them that breach the rules because the mattresses are too deep (they aren’t original) so they sit at almost the same level at the top of the protective side bar - children could easily roll out of the top bunk and land on a tiled floor. I gave both the Owner and Choice Cottages the opportunity to make amends but they have ignored my emails. The only response I had from Choice was stating that it was the owners fault and not theirs and that they are just a booking agent. They won’t get another penny from us and I would never recommend others to use them.

We absolutely loved our stay in Braunton Beacon View. We all loved the hot tub and the pool table was a big hit. Small touches like towles supplied for the hot tub made all the difference. For us having a dog, the location was perfect, as there is a field walk right nearby, but it's also right in the village, so close to shops and literally a 5 minute drive to Saunton Sands beach, so a perfect location! The house was very clean, tidy and comfortable - I usually don't sleep well when I'm away, but the beds here were really comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed, all the pots, pans and utensils you could possibly need! Lovely touches like magazines to read, books and games for the kids, and the Wii was great to have there - also loved the cream tea on arrival, and the biscuits for the dog! We had a perfect stay, and would love to come again sometime.

Sunshine cottage was beautiful we had a lovely holiday.
Four days before our holiday Choice emailed to say our holiday was cancelled this was a very alarming email we found it very difficult to speak to anyone we left messages and emails and out calls were not retuned for 24hours which I felt was was very disappointing.
Eventually everything was sorted, we had a brilliant holiday I course done without the stress .

A beautiful cottage, well placed for local beaches, water sports and walks. Furnishings and fittings were to a very high standard, and it was spotlessly clean. The outdoor space and garden furniture was a real highlight. We had a fantastic time and thank you so much for the delicious cream tea on arrival. Very much appreciated.

A very clean and spacious holiday home. The house was well equipped with a good range of facilities for the whole family. The garden was excellent. The house was close enough to the beach for the family to walk, but the weather was fantastic.

Nice clean apartment right on the sea front, couldn’t of asked for anything more for our perfect holiday

Great house, especially also the garden(s), feels very homely, fantastic for families with kids or group of friends - pots and pans are in dire need of a swap but besides that - everything you'd want is here.

Beautifully presented and well thought out cottage. Situated in the perfect central location, but on a peaceful lane. It had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Would thoroughly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Little Quest.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, every room was very bright and spacious, tastefully furnished, and fully equipped with everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. It had wonderful views accross Woolacombe bay and only a short walk to the beach and village shops and restaurants. There was a lovely private sunny deck and splash pool at the back of the property which we really enjoyed using. Phil and Gill were great hosts and there to great us on arrival and we had a fantastic welcome hamper full of delicious homemade and local treats.
We would definitely love to return and stay at Little Quest again.

Excellent accommodation perfectly situated over looking the stunning beach. This apartment was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Would not hesitate booking again. Fabulous thank you

The Stables at Georgeham is a lovely place to stay. Would thoroughly recommend.

Such a lovely property, extremely well presented and clean, there were some lovely touches including the games, books and especially the scones. Would highly recommend you check out this property if you are visiting North Cornwall, will definitely stay again.

What a find - especially as they allowed our 2 dogs to come too! Really lovely house, spotlessly clean with everything we needed. Great location, perfect for getting to Saunton Sands and also some good walks for the dogs on the doorstep in the Braunton Great Field. We didn’t make use of the hot tub, but enjoyed the pool table in the conservatory. Hope to come back again.

Well presented clean apartment with stunning views across the sea to Wales.

We were really lucky with this choice of holiday cottage. The rooms were very large , clean and comfortable . Next door Pete & louisa were lovely as were their two dogs, they couldn't have made us more welcome and so helpfull. We toured a lot of the area and it was always nice to come back to a home away from home.

Really sweet cottage in a brilliant location!

Very pleased with the cottage, we had a fantastic long weekend staying there. The cottage is very modern and clean, the owners have thought of everything. Such easy access into the village too, definitely recommend Victoria Cottage.
