CNET editors and writers know what they are talking about

I have found over the past several years that e-mail alerts from CNET contain a nugget of news I am interested in often enough, that I have elected to continue to receive them. The editors and writers of CNET's on-line articles seem to know what they are talking about. My only quibble with CNET is that the site seems to be a shameless shill for Apple products.

wow— the redundant

wow— the redundant, copy-and-pasted, lackadaisical crap they churn out and recycle as up-to-date news still fools people? i guess many are too dumb to navigate to Page 2 of a Google search. what an embarrassment this company has turned out to be.

Lazy

Lazy, uninformed reporting.
They rehash year old articles without an update. For a tech company, this is shameful.

Their reviews often go against the mainstream and real user reviews, suggesting they are all paid reviews.

I do not trust this company anymore. Neither should you.

May Great Music Accent Your Moments Of Splendour

I had started experiencing URL configure errors in Free YouTube Downloader.
I sent an email to request assistance and repair instructions.
I received friendly, quick, and efficient email response including a nice and easy to use link to an efficiently working Free YouTube Downloader.
I uninstalled the current one I had and reinstalled Free YouTube Downloader via the link provided.
I received a second user care email to confirm the link was working and helpful in solving the problem. Such user appreciation vibes felt from this experience.
I'm so happy to be able to download music again. Music is Life.
Thank you so much for the amazing assistance, I appreciate it.

Awful site

Awful site, tried to use to look up the night vision mode on the pixel 3, got served a webpage that was 50% ads that loaded excruciatingly slowly and made the page continuously jump down as they loaded in. The actually information on the page was spread out so thinly it was very hard to tell what was advert and what was info pictures. They honestly alternated. And on top of that, after each tiny paragraph I got an Amazon link to buy the phone. Dear f**king god. Never again

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time CNET was the place to go for informed, unbiased reviews. Easy to navigate and a valuable tool to use before making electronics purchases. No more. Once it became the property of CBS the decline was underway. It now fits the definition of a useless website. Navigation is pointless, searches of the site never bring you to the information you are looking for. The reviews lack any critical insights, 4 stars seems to be the default. The site has devolved into a giant marketing tool. What a shame.

Crap company, fake reviews and even more fake (and often malware infected) software. It's about time this site gets blocked by virusscanners for being malicious.

First I just ignored CNET in my feed, now I removed them

CNET used to pop in my feed because one of the things I read about is games. Their articles were always just... not good so I got used to scrolling over them. What made me actively remove them from my feed is their latest attempt to destroy YouTubers that actually do good video game journalism and critiques. It's a dishonest lying hit piece. As someone who has a degree in journalism it always sadens me to see this. (English is not my first language).

Cnet is trash for their fake journalism and reviews. Latest debacle, angry youtubers.... sigh. They bash the youtubers vehemently protesting against their generating of ad revenue. Even going as so far to sabotage what is a genuine gaming journalism by contacting ad agencies in an attempt to remove ads from the channels. You call them hypocritical and they delete your comment. Never mind the reviews that speak for themselves.

I wish i could give less than 1 star.

Finally pulled the pin on Cnet

Finally pulled the pin on Cnet, the website has become virtually unusable. I do not know what they are doing in the background but its so bloated now. Takes minutes for pages to load, and the autoplay videos just continuously get in the way, reminds me of the dial up days honestly. Scrolling takes forever, and is disjointed and broken. I know it's not my machine, as it does it on all three of mine, plus my work laptop. Thinking they are maybe trying to throttle users that run an adblocker, I disabled and it is still slow. My work computer does not use adblockers so more proof it's not that. Anyone have a good streamlined alternative to Cnet?

The reviews are pure BS

The reviews are BS. Based on their reviews, using my hard earned money, In 2006 I bought a $300 piece of trash earphones (Shure e4c) which Cnet hailed as the greatest earphones they’ve ever tested. Couldn’t be further from truth. Read the neg user reviews on Amazon and you’ll understand. It’s just one example, there are others like Edifier speaker, Vizio soundbar which are mediocre mainstream and subpar quality products...beware of their phony reviews!!

All of the negative reviews are…

All of the negative reviews are correct. This is an absolute nightmare of a garbage website, rife with every kind of intrusive, browser cluttering script you can imagine. As soon as the page "loads" (which translates to 30 seconds of browser freezing and page skipping), you are bombarded with that stupid "this site wants to show you notifications" prompt, a newsletter sign-up field, a loud, auto-playing video, and ads, ads, ads. When you click the "X" on the intrusive video, it just takes you to another window. Scrolling down the page causes the browser to freak out while it tries to calculate all of the effluvium in the background sludging up the pipes.

All I wanted was to peruse the website for information, but it is so unwieldy and patently obnoxious I exited out of it after 35 seconds, which was like a small eternity considering all of the above.

Had a similar experience on Weather.com - another reprehensible mess of obstruction and meddlesome browser behavior.

The one star is unsurprising. There are ways to make your site usable and effective without all of the insufferable trash picking at my eyeballs.

W*T*F* happened to cnet

W*T*F* happened to cnet (no longer deserves all caps). Use to be my go to site when I needed a honest and unbiased review of anything tech. Now it reminds me of those late night infomercial, bad spokespersons pushing bad products on consumers who believe anything they see on TV............real or FAKE.
