Co-op pharmacy

Co-op pharmacy, the forum, Newark Road, Lincoln.

I had an appointment for 10.30 today for a flu vaccination I had booked with them. The place was busy with people waiting. I sat in the alcove, near the room they use for the vaccinations. One customer went up and asked for their prescription, they were told it wasn't ready. They were asked when did they request the prescription and the lady said it was issued on Monday, it was Friday today. The lady waiting for her prescription was told in a brusk manner, that it takes at least 5 days to fill a prescription and if she came back next week, it might be ready. We'll those waiting in line to be served didn't look to pleased.

Anyway, back to me and my flu jab, after waiting 10 minutes and no one coming out of the room that does the vaccinations, I knocked on the door, it was slightly ajar and opened. I peered through and saw it was empty. I didn't go to the back of the queue but caught the eye of the pharmacist and asked do I need to book in for my jab. He said we ain't doing any today, to busy. I said why didn't you phone or text me to stop me coming over. He just turned away and started to talk to staff. 😂

Spilsby Coop pharmacy

Even after almost 2 weeks the chemist having the prescription , firstly I have to wait for over 20 minutes cause not all items were ready. Then getting told I can only have some supply of my metformin cause supplier would be out of stock. I was planning to go abroad and now have to cancel cause I have not enough supply. This is a repeated problem at this chemist. Instead of asking another supplier, offering to be phoned when supply has arrived they leave one in limbo. Why is the medication not ready available after the chemist having the prescription for almost 2 weeks?

I asked the pharmacist for a complaint form and he told me there would not be one. He made no effort to advise what to do. He did not advise me of their complaint procedure but just asked me what they can do about it. I am now considering to inform NHS England to make a complaint. I would be grateful to be contacted by the area manager as he was present at the time.

Rip off co-op

Lovely staff where i visited. But the cost of good was twice as expensive as my previous purchase from Lloyd's the week before. I thought it must be double the weight but wasn't. Rip off co-op. Use elsewhere. There's a cost of living crisis and Co-op are milky customers.

Always an Excuse

Awful place. Always a long que, plenty of staff but no one seems to be doing very much so very slow service. Pointless phoning as no one ever answers.
Always some excuse or other posted up on wall as to why service is so poor and how they are working to improve. I have been going there for 18 months now and so far havent seen any improvements !

Awful Communication

Awful communication. You get told to return a specific time or day to collect your prescriptions - then when you turn up nothing is ready and you are treated like you are at fault and asking for the moon on a stick. I have had to visit three times for my latest prescriptions, and still have to go back next week. Last visit they couldn't even find my prescription, and they blamed the faff on me for returning on a busy day - I don't know when they are busy, and in any case I was told to return at that time. I tried confronting them about repeated poor Comms, and tried to ascertain what steps they were perhaps taking to improve it, but got told by the pharmacist "if you don't like our service go somewhere else". Way to go Coop + if you have a problem, blame your customer!

Never the same brand

I have had seven repeat prescriptions from this pharmacy for the same single item and they have issued a different brand of medication on six occasions!
Why don't they issue the same brand every time?
Do they change suppliers weekly?

Absolutely disgusting delivery service.

Absolutely disgusting service.
I am disabled and unable to collect prescriptions and signed up for the delivery service. Not only did it take over a week but when they promised delivery a specific day it didn't happen and I only found out when I called THEM to query where my medication was??? No email, no text, no paper slip, no call NOTHING just "oh yeah our delivery man couldn't deliver, best we can do is 3 days from now" regarding life saving medication that keeps me out of hospital, even my GP was disgusted. So after 2 emergency prescriptions the result is I have discontinued the delivery service and make sure to warn everyone off it. Are you trying to kill people or is it just sheer negligence?

Inefficient deliveries

My mother is 94 and cannot collect her medication from the Hunstanton pharmacy but has had them delivered.
The deliveries come from LINCOLN!!!! which makes the service appear inefficient when the pharmacy is just up the road.
In fact the service is so poor that my mother has to wait well over a week for her deliveries after ordering online. Currently she has run out of her pills and she has been blocked from ordering online.
My question is........are they trying to kill her off?
No need to worry now as she died in September.

Poor customer service and prescription control

So I went to kirton CO-OP pharmacy to pick up a prescription for my wife, they issued a prescription, which when we checked was from February, its now May. the one issued, we contacted the doctors about back in February saying she could not take them and they are not being collected. The employee did not check to see how may were outstanding he just issued the one he found, If these had been taken it could have caused serious harm to my wife as these were drugs for her pre-op and as she is now post op. I took these straight back saying they had issued the wrong items, which was apparently my fault as I didn't explain, how can this be done when you don't know you have x2 prescription waiting. So they took them back, however he said i would have to pay again for another 2 items so now a total of £38. I questioned this and because i left with the wrong items he wouldnt refund and kept the meds even though I had paid for them. Had he done his due diligence and checked for which and how many were outstanding this would not have happened. Strangely while I was waiting on the 1st occasion he didn't check the computer for other customers but did on my second visit after my complaint and 2nd payment. they really do need to get a grip or someone will get hurt and cause financial loss to there customers.
Very poor customer service, and even worse poor checks on what is being issued.

APPALLING BEHAVIOUR

Being disabled, I’ve been bed bound for some years. I have pain 24/7 in varying degrees. It was extremely bad this day. I hadn’t slept in days and my husband was up for hours with me. I can’t even get to the bathroom at time like this. So I rely on my husband to collect my prescriptions. He suffers from ADHD so he has special meds he picks up for himself. He received a text message to say his was ready and I received a text confirmation that mine was ready too, so he telephoned them and said he would be picking them up the next day. My husband was on his last tablet and a bank holiday was coming up so it was vital he had his meds because it can cause all sorts of problems when he doesn’t take it. If he gets distracted whilst he’s driving. It’s a worry. He has to drive 8 miles to the COOP pharmacy in LINCOLN. When he arrived at the pharmacy the next day my meds were there but they didn’t have his? He asked why? The new assistant didn’t seem to know where it was and wasn’t giving any real answers. He said “well it was here yesterday. I spoke to you on the telephone when I received the text confirmation from you.” She eventually came out with it that she’d given it to someone else. She would have physically taken the label off his medication and give it to someone else. It’s a controlled drug so it has to be ordered in. My husband was obviously speaking in an annoyed voice, he’s not going to speak in a happy voice when someone’s messed up. Then she turned the waterworks on. My husband tried to calm her down and said he didn’t want to upset her but I need my meds, you knew I was coming so why did you give it away? My husband is very animated when he speaks, he speaks with his hands. In the end he was told to go and try another chemist. He’d been out a while so I got worried and I text him to see where he was? He was driving round in panic because of the coming bank holiday, looking for a chemist that may have some in stock. I think he managed to get part of a prescription, enough to take him over the bank holiday. He finally got home and within 30 minutes there was a knock on the door. It was the police. Policemen speak loudly. They were only at the house about 10 minutes. Basically after my husband had left the COOP pharmacy someone had pressed the panic button? The police said no law had been broken, there’s no action being taken, that they’ve seen the footage and my husband has a right to be annoyed if a member of staff has made an error. They confirmed that he wasn’t shouting or being aggressive in anyway or disturbing the piece. So it was a complete exaggeration from COOP. They banned my husband from going into the shop because he was scaring the other customers! There’s also a post office and a small library that my husband always used for over a year and there was never any problems with them. We live in a small village so drive miles out to this post office. To add insult to injury they banned him from every coop pharmacy in the whole of Lincoln and Lincolnshire, not only pharmacies but any other coop business. We were speechless because they were treating him like some sort of criminal. The whole thing was disgusting behaviour. My husband is 50 years old, with manners. He knows how to treat people with respect. The whole thing was a joke. The police suggested we put a complaint in. They told us to ask for a copy of the video footage as proof. We sort of knew this route would be a waste of time but we went through the procedure. They came up with every excuse not to give us the footage. I’ve shopped with the COOP for the last 35 years, furniture, insurance, holidays, groceries. As did my mum when she was alive. I’m done with COOP after this. There’s no way will I give them any of my business. EVER!

Ordered one item on their website and…

Ordered one item on their website and received a very unprofessional, and quite frankly rude rejection from an arrogant "pharmacist" named Jag Sidhu. If he is typical of their pharmacists, they should pack it all in now.
