Great cruise but 1 big issue

Just returned from an Azamara cruise — Cruise1st were excellent overall, but one thing left us and several other Cruise1st customers we met on board completely baffled: no transfers included. Nowhere in the documentation could we find any mention that this would be the case either.

We landed in the Seychelles and were left entirely to our own devices — having to arrange a taxi to the hotel ourselves for our 2-night pre-cruise stay, and again to the port. If the joins aren't joined up, it's not a package holiday in our view.

Surely it wouldn't be difficult to arrange a deal with a local taxi company and pass the cost on — we'd have happily paid extra for the peace of mind.
One star dropped purely for this reason.

Check their terms and conditions and you will be surprised

I booked a cruise and the following day they sent their terms and conditions My advice is avoid this company! Their cancellation terms and conditions are ridiculous. On receipt of the conditions, I rang to cancel and was told I would have to cancel in writing, they would not accept it over the phone. So, 5 days later they told me I would lose my deposit and pay an additional £75 admin charge so £175 for booking on a Sunday and trying to cancel on a Monday after seeing their terms and conditions. Have a look at the way they stack the liability on the customer. I will pay the £175 however will also raise a complaint with ABTA as this charge is in no way representative of their costs or contractually proportionate. I have booked around 30 holidays with this company over the years however this is my last. In the current uncertainty they are clearly making the customer responsible, my advice, look for a travel agent that has the customer firmly in mind and not one that is focused on the fine print.

Extremely disappointing experience – prevented from booking elsewhere

I contacted Cruise1st to enquire about booking two family cabins in Yacht Club with MSC. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely frustrating from start to finish.

After speaking with the so-called “sales manager,” Sam Griffiths, I was left feeling completely unsupported. Without my consent, he proceeded to hold multiple cabin options across two cruises. This effectively blocked availability, meaning I was unable to explore or secure the same cabins with other providers.

When I followed this up, I spoke with Victoria, who confirmed that these cabins had indeed been held until Tuesday. As a result, I will now missed out on the Bank Holiday sale – a key reason I was ready to book.

This practice feels incredibly unfair and, in my opinion, crosses the line into obstructive sales tactics. Holding cabins in this way, without clear agreement, has directly impacted my ability to book and cost me access to time-sensitive offers.

I am extremely disappointed and would urge others to proceed with caution.

Atrocious after care - and that’s when service matters

We found the hotel booked in Mumbai had bad reviews (it was 5 star - absolutely not) we were told it was our responsibility to check our hotels and that it was now non refundable (at allegedly nearly £500 for three nights. On arrival after a nightmare 23 hr delay then hotel had no room ready , despite being pre paid . When we got a room , too exhausted to inspect we went to sleep . Checking the room next morning we found it was filthy and made our own arrangements for a proper 5* hotel for our last night . This totally marred our holiday yet cruise 1st stated it had been our responsibility to check reviews . Their supplier eventually refunded 1 nights stay as a goodwill gesture . So check things out early - the booking process is not all that matters - it’s service when things go wrong that makes you feel valued and not just a commodity . So be warned to check if you have stays before or after the cruise . The cruise was fine as was the Singapore hotel . It’s your responsibility to check - cruise 1st just pass the buck!

Cruise1st tour and cruise went like clockwork

We booked our tour and cruise through Cruise1st that included a 1 week tour that started in Rio and visited Iguazu falls on the way to Buenos Aires where we joined our celebrity cruise ship. The land tour had a small group of 11 of us. The 2 nights in Rio was in a hotel adjacent to Copacabana Beach and had a full day guided tour to Sugar Loaf mountain and the Christ the redeemer. The provided lunch was excellent.
We then flew to Iguazu where we had two nights that included guided tours of the falls from the Argentina side then the Brazil side. Totally amazing
Final a flight to Buenos Aires for our last 2 nights that included a guided tour and a night out at an all inclusive tango show. All the hotels, guides, provided meals, transfers and excursions were totally excellent and provided by a company called Blueprint.
Finally to the Celebrity eclipse for 17 nights on their ship. As usual on Celebrity all was excellent including the service, food, drink and entertainment. We sailed back across the equator and Atlantic all the way to Barcelona for our disembarkation and flight home.
All flights including the internal ones were included and to their credit it all went like clockwork. Thank you Cruise1st

The knowledge and expertise of the team, in this instance Pauline Harrison meant that everything ran smoothly and we had no problems with our booking. The range of options offered and the price meant we enjoyed our break and saw a lovely part of Europe. Well done and many thanks.

disgusting service

disgusting service, unable to contact anyone ,waited over 7 days to amend and change booking in the end we booked a cruise direct with the cruise line and when we went to cancel our booking with cruise 1st was then charged a additional £75 fee with no apologise for the poor service which had we been able to speak to someone we could have just amended the booking, and when i tried to make a formal complaint was just told again this needs to be in writing, we will not use this company again

Over and above

With all the trouble in the Middle East, we were unable to fly to Dubai on our way to Japan but Cruise1st sorted everything out for us including a direct flight there and flights home via Istanbul.
They kept us informed all the way via emails and phone calls.
They really are extremely good value for money and we will always use them for future cruises as we have done in the past.

Total lack of communication

Total lack of communication. Not informed that our flight home had to be cancelled. Others in the cruise had communication and given new flights at least a week before they were due to fly. We had emails ignored and were fobbed off with you hear in a couple of hours which never happened. Had to call in tears a day before we were due to fly home to receive a flight 3 days later . Totally ruined the last half of our holiday. I would never book with them again.

I have booked with cruise1st on many occasions & usually they are very good but I had to have my documents amended for a cruise that I took a few weeks ago & the lady I spoke with was very aggressive & was not interested at all. MSC directly amended the documents in the end which I was very grateful for as cruise1st simply didn’t respond either when I spoke with them or via email.
I had booked another cruise with Cruise1st for February 2027 & MSC have cancelled it (it’s for the Middle East) & they have told me I have to go through Cruise1st.
I emailed them & suprise suprise not even a holding email after 4 days.
I have emailed again but CRUISE1st GET A GRIP! YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LETTING YOUR BUSINESS DOWN BADLY!!!!!! I am very unsure if I will book with them again which is such a shame.

Appalling Customer Service when things go wrong

We found out 5 days before departure that we were actually going on our @CelebrityCruise but would fly with Finnair, a basic economy company, not what we had booked originally. We landed for 2 nights in Hong Kong to find we were in possibly the smallest room in the hotel but put up with it as we were looking forward to the Cruise and 2 nights in Singapore, before returning home. A week before we were due to fly home we were finally given details by @cruise1st of our return flights and just told you are flying into Heathrow from Singapore at 0300 with Shenzen Airways, again not @qatarairways again another economy company. That meant another day in Singapore, with no mention of extra hotel booking or how we were now to get from Heathrow to Manchester to collect our vehicle. @cruise1st are terrible to contact in an emergency and it was not for 3 days that customer services were available. @CelebrityCruise were excellent and allowed us a free call from the ship. I spent an hour arguing with a girl in the office who insisted we would have to book extra hotel and transfer ourselves and claim it all back I obviously disputed this as they are the agent and it is their responsibility, under current legislation, which Iwas able to quote. Finally they agreed to pay an extra day's hotel and fly us, the next day, to Manchester after a hotel stay in Heathrow. Others we met, who weren't so determined, or didn't have the legal knowledge, were not so fortunate. @cruise1st are an absolute shambles of a company and I would advise everyone to avoid them at all costs. No contact since our return to check we were OK either. DO NOT USE THEM
