Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 47 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently struggled with unhelpful customer support teams, experiencing exceptionally long hold times, unreturned phone calls, and dismissive attitudes when trying to resolve their critical problems. Consumers additionally faced heavy unexpected maintenance costs, expensive servicing plans, and recurring mechanical faults with their new vehicles shortly after purchase. However, some customers also noted that the vehicles offered a comfortable and pleasant driving experience alongside plenty of useful interior space. A few reviewers additionally mentioned experiencing a completely seamless, professional purchasing process and helpful communication when initially dealing with the dealership.

Dacia UK & Aldershot Dealership disappointing

Bought a 2021 Dacia Sandero from SMC Aldershot in January '25, which in the first few months of ownership had warranty claims for timing chain replacement and other repairs which were completed with the assistance of Dacia UK, annoying but at least the repairs were corrected in reasonable time.

A few months later I raised another issue, this time with the braking system, which is currently an ongoing case yet to be resolved with both Dacia UK and SMC Aldershot, however, now both parties haven't responded to me in weeks, even after chasing them up on numerous occasions.

It's a shame as I don't believe it's the build quality of the car that led to these problems on a vehicle of 4.5 years old and at 29k miles, but a combination of first owner driving style, minimal maintenance and not disclosing the vehicle history prior to handover to the second owner.

In hindsight, I should have walked away from the forecourt on that cold January day which would have saved me 7 months of motoring headache.

In the meantime I will check my inbox for a Dacia responce !! ( Holding breath )

OK until you need customer service.

I bought my Dacia Sandero three years ago and have done just over 30,000 miles. The car itself has been reliable with no serious problems.

The issue is with the service plan. I paid for 3 annual services up front, but when it came to the third one, Dacia refused to honour the agreement because I’d gone slightly over 30,000 miles — even though I’m still under 3 years. That feels very unfair and misleading.

I tried contacting Dacia customer services and was left on hold for 3 hours 30 minutes without ever speaking to anyone. I then tried Renault, but still no answer. If you ever need customer service, you’re screwed.

The car is fine, but the service plan and customer support have been a huge let-down. Avoid.

DACIA Wakefield

We went to buy a Dacia at a price that was advertised in the dealership, but soon found out the price was incorrect. Apparently, the advert had been up for weeks, yet no one noticed? We were told we couldn’t buy the car at the advertised price.

We then looked at a different spec of car, and that’s when the problems really began:

Application form filled out incorrectly.

They lost the copy of my driving licence.

Car was promised for delivery Tuesday — it didn’t arrive. Then we were told Thursday of the following week.

The day before, we got a call saying the car wouldn’t be ready until November — unless we accepted a different colour, which they could do by Friday.

Throughout, there was a lot of miscommunication within the team, including from the sales manager.

Most of the staff came across as quite arrogant, and overall the process was frustrating and unprofessional.

The only positive in the whole experience was Tom, a young member of staff who had only just started. From the beginning, Tom was supportive, genuine, and helpful. If it wasn’t for him, we probably wouldn’t have bought the car at all. When we finally picked the car up, Tom was the one who dealt with us, and everything went smoothly — the way it should have been from the start.

The other staff should take example from Tom. He’s a credit to the dealership, and the reason this review isn’t 100% negative.

Customer service and courtesy lacking from main dealer

Bought a used Dacia from main dealer in Horley last month. Generally pleased with the car but the after sales service, after we discovered one of the seatbelts didn't work, has been poor. Promises to call not met (1-star reviews are the only thing to get them moving - do try this!). They don't seem to know who I am when they call me or I call back. I don't feel like they value me as a customer or want to fix my problem: apparently it's not something they as a busines would be expected to pick up, as the car passed their checks? Well, my 5-seater is just a 4-seater until it's fixed. Despite an offer to bring it in (the appointment time proposed wasn't convenient), they couldn't tell me they'd fix it at their cost, despite this being a known issue on the MOT. So I've booked it in with a trusted local garage who I know will do a good job.

03/09/25: local garage fixed it. Dealer knew about it (from the MOT) and was slow to acknowledge; when they did, they hid behind policies and excuses, rather than just do right by the customer. Dreadful.

Bought a 71 plate Dacia Duster from a dealer. Only had it 9 months and the serpentine failed which led to the head gasket blowing and water in the engine. Basically, unusable. New engine cost wasn't worth it so scrapped. What a lemon. Never again.

Had a jogger for around 6 months

Had a jogger for around 6 months. The boot door collapsed while i had my back to the car to assemble my wheelchair. It bent one of the gas struts but luckily no other damage. Took the car back to showroom them to show them what happen only to be told I was lying and had been swinging on it to make it break. Net result after 10 days being unable to acces my wheelchair I had to pay £90 for a replacement. Complained in writing to Dacia UK about the disgusting treatment I received and the unbelievably rude condescending staff only to get a phone call from someone who has no incling of customer service said the showroom told him yes, you've been swing on the strut which made it fail and had nothing at all to say about how I was treated. AVOID DACIA AT ALL COSTS. Thier customer care is utterly disgraceful.

Do not buy Dacia

Do not buy Dacia, especially not new.

The cars are generally cheaper than many others, and of course this will entice buyers in in these expensive times (myself included). However, if anything goes wrong with the car you are in for a world of trouble.

Customer service operate in a cyclical fashion whereby they actually provide zero help whatsoever and will attempt to push you onto a selected dealer or garage for the issue. This may be a serious issue where the car no longer feels safe to drive. Inevitably the place they send you offers you an appointment two months down the line. Already not good, especially if you need the car to get to work as I’m sure many people do.

The appointment finally comes around and they either say they can find no problem or need a part. Dacia does not have parts available. I am now 7 weeks deep into a wait for a part. I told them the car nearly caused an accident by dropping significant speed while pulling onto a motorway. They don’t care. Book it into the garage (two month wait). No offer of any other help. They are happy for customers to have to weigh up the choice of driving a dangerous car to get to work or losing their job.

The problems with my Dacia Duster from 2023 began in February 2025. They are unresolved in mid July 2025. We are still in the “understanding the issue” phase. Nothing has been done other than the order of a part that may or may not be the issue. I try following up with Dacia and all they are capable of doing is saying the part is on back order. They claim they are doing everything they can. That everything amounts to nothing.

Meanwhile I am paying monthly for a car that has almost had me in a serious accident thanks to a now five month old problem they won’t take seriously. Dacia are not worth the stress of dealing with.

Rip off part prices

69 plate Dacia Duster with less than 37k miles, windscreen wiper motor/linkage failed. Told the only part available to was the genuine one. This is a small DC motor, some metal bars and joints. The price Dacia charged was £385+ vat. Be very wary of buying from this company, I am aware that some genuine parts are pricier than you would expect but this is ridiculous. The fact that it failed after what is a relatively short time for such equipment is additionally concerning.

Lack of after sales is shocking and support virtually none existent

Part Two (Dacia Parks Ayr)

Parks after sales team then offered to arrange a courtesy car for today.
I received an email to say my courtesy car would arrive today Monday 7th July by 3pm.

Phone call at 2.10pm Monday 7th to arrange delivery of my courtesy car for tomorrow. I explained that I have an email stating the car would be with me today by 3pm.
I was advised this would not be the case and it would be 2pm on Tuesday before the car would be with me.

Then a phone call from Parks Ayr to say they have my car fixed and would do an overnight test drive to check the car was properly fixed.

Tuesday 8th I was advised the test drive went well and I would get the car back later this afternoon.

I phoned to cancel the courtesy car due to my car being returned.

Wednesday telephone call from Dacia uk executive complaints department to say they would be closing my complaint due to me having my car returned.

I advised them that this was not the end of the matter as I was not happy with how this has been dealt with.
They offered me a £50 dealership voucher to spend at Parks Ayr, I asked if this was proportional to the negative experience I have had given I was refused returning the car, lied to, had 4 days waisted holiday without a car, not given a courtesy car and completely let down by both Parks and Dacia.
The response I received was yes we feel this is proportional so if I would accept the £50 they would email me this and close my complaint.
I again refused to accept the £50 as I do not feel this is proportional to the stress and waisted holiday time without a car and the way in which I was treated.
The response I received was sorry you feel like this!

So in summery think very carefully before dealing with this company, very good while trying to get a sale communication during that time is excellent however once they have your money they are difficult to hold of, communication is awful, they lie to you and do nothing to resolve difficulties in a timely fashion.

Once again totally disgusting how I was treated and the lack of support was shocking. One very disappointed customer however they just have not cared.

Awful company.

Only leaving one star because I have to to leave a review. Bought a Dacia jogger brand new. The car spent more time in the garage than on the road. After a year of backwards and forwards trying to do a final rejection on the car I have made the decision to part ex and go elsewhere: this car experienced things like clutch twice, gear box failure, fly wheels failure, BREAK FAILURE, emergency stops for no reason. And that’s just a few of the 14 major faults I experienced. Even got responses from LUKE BROAD the managing director. Still got run round in circles. Lies from this company to the dealerships, TELLING THE DEALERSHIP TO RETURN THE CAR BACK TO ME WITH A FUEL PUMP ISSUE!!! felt like I was trying to be pushed and pushed until the warranty ended so they wouldn’t have to do anything. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They WILL NOT take responsibility for selling faulty vehicles even as a well known manufacturer. If you get a good car then you’re one of the lucky ones. If you drop in a faulty one then your out of luck, they won’t help you out.

Never again!!!

Never again!!!
I bought Dacia jogger May 2024 only over 1year .I had an electric failure .
Dacia doesn’t take any responsibility because of exceed the warranty (mileage over 60k).
So basically Dacia head quarters telling me our car is not reliable after 60k on mileage.
Engine gear box might have an issue .
They had to further check .it will cost 1080 pounds .
If the engine gear box issue ,they told me cost over 20.000 pounds ,
Yes you heard it right over 20.000 pounds.
Car cost me 21.000.
What a wampire.
No help from local Dacia dealer or head office .
So guys ,
Don’t buy Dacia .Strongly not recommend.
Costumer service are bad .
Ps .They would only help me if I pay further checks which is cost 1080 pounds.
Otherwise I am on my own they said ..
Stick your shit car to somewhere nice.

Massive car fire and an extraordinarily unethical company…

This is an extraordinarily unethical business. They issued a recall on our Dacia Sandero and we never heard about it. They never even announced it on their own internal recall tracker. There was a problem with the ignition switch, and we only found out about it because the starter motor kept fusing (we had to pay nearly a grand for repairs over two years). Our garage did some research and eventually told us about the recall.

As soon as we found out, we told Dacia and they agreed it was their responsibility to fix it. But the dealership then took it on and failed to fix it because Dacia sent them the wrong part! Then the dealership gave the car back to us and let us drive it away. A few weeks later, after we tried to get the dealership to take it back in, the car set fire to itself (the entire front half was in six foot high flames) and nearly burnt down our street. We were in the car 10 minutes before this happened. The fire department had to come. It torched the back of another car. Our car was completely written off.

Despite the issue being caused by a fault that Dacia freely admitted was theirs, a fault they also admit that they failed to tell us about, and despite them failing to send the dealership the correct part, they refuse to take any responsibility for it. So our insurance premiums go up and we lose our no claims bonus. Again, this is because customer service at Dacia thinks they have no responsibility for a car fire caused by a problem they issued a recall on, that they then prevented from getting fixed.

Dacia, the world is a complex place, but it is not a pre-requisite of doing business today to let go of morals. You are allowed to be ethical.

Horrendous costmer service

Horrendous costmer service, they dont have enough technicians, they are taking months to do basic warranty repairs, they are selling cars they can't fix, the regulator should ban them from selling cars, until they the recourses to fix them.

Kevin Brown

Kevin Brown, the sales executive, was fantastic. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He is an asset to your company.
The whole process was easy, and a fantastic experience from the time I entered the showroom and greated by the friendly receptionist, whom got me a well needed cappuccino.
Ryan the young hand over chap was also excellent. Explained everything to me and gave me the confidence to drive away in my beautiful new Sandero Stepway.
Well done to all your excellent staff.
