Awful
Had an online appointment booked. Sent two differing appointment times. Clarified which one I could attend. Duly logged onto the meeting to be met with nothing. Very poor service and communication.
Left morphine hanging out of letterbox.

Medicines delivered by person wearing a Dominos Pizza outfit.
No adherence to safeguarding of controlled medicine.
The Mill Hill branch
The Mill Hill branch may have moved to bigger premises - but the inefficiency is even worse! And they appear to have more staff.
I honestly don't know how you get away with giving patients - unwell people! - such a dreadful experience and service!
And why on earth you're not open on a Saturday - just reinforces your lack of care and respect for patients.
Absolutely disgraceful b
Poor Service and mistakes
I have used Day Lewis Pharmacy on Elmfield Way, Sanderstead, for several years as my nominated pharmacy, and the service has been consistently disappointing. Repeated mistakes, excessive waiting times, limited pharmaceutical advice and a telephone that is virtually never answered, regardless of when you call.
My most recent experience involving my son’s allergy medication has been particularly unacceptable. After supplying the same brand for over a year, the pharmacy suddenly switched to a different brand without informing us. My son subsequently had an adverse reaction.
When I asked for the original brand, rather than offering a practical solution, the pharmacist told me to go back to my GP for another prescription and proceeded to lecture me about why I hadn’t checked the medication myself. Why would I expect a change after receiving the same product for a year?
I have now had to chase my GP, arrange another prescription and endure unnecessary delays, all because of a change initiated by the pharmacy. My understanding is that they could at least have explored sourcing the original brand, but there appeared to be no willingness to help.
The lack of accountability, empathy and basic customer care is staggering. When dealing with children’s health, patients need competent, proactive professionals — not dismissive attitudes and unnecessary obstacles.
This is not an isolated experience. Family members and friends have expressed similar frustrations, and during my latest visit, I witnessed other customers visibly unhappy with the long waits and poor service.
A pharmacy provides an essential healthcare service. Patients should not have to fight to receive basic assistance or spend days resolving problems they did not create.
Extremely disappointing. After years of poor service, I have completely lost confidence in this pharmacy and would not recommend it.
I feel cheated
I feel cheated, partly because I don’t know English well enough—that’s where the problem lies. I ended up paying twice for the same medications: £19.80 the first time when I picked up the initial tablets, and then another £19.80 when I collected some vitamins later on. Yet, when I got the first set of tablets, the lady told me that all my medications had already been paid for. It’s my own fault for not taking a receipt. Unless, of course, the total cost for all my medications was nearly £40—in which case, it’s fine. Regardless, I feel like I’ve been cheated.

Day Lewis Pharmacy at Crossley St…
Day Lewis Pharmacy at Crossley St Wetherby. The staff at this branch are excellent always helpful and polite even when they have to ask you to wait for your prescription they still make you feel that you are important to them.
I give in
This review is for the Farsley branch.
For years, I have put up with the poor service, lack of professionalism and general rudeness at this pharmacy. However, I have finally had enough and decided to move to a pharmacy that actually provides the standard of service customers should expect.
When this pharmacy was Liptrots, the service was perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, since Day Lewis took over, the reduction in staff and increase in prescription waiting times have, in my experience, led to a significant decline in service.
Over the years, I have experienced numerous problems, including:
Receiving somebody else’s prescription.
Being supplied with medication with only one month remaining before its expiry date.
Repeatedly being unable to get through on the telephone. When I have raised this issue, the response has been that they are “busy”, as though customers do not have busy lives of their own.
The final straw came this time, after waiting more than 10 days for my prescriptions. I received a text message informing me that they were ready for collection. However, when I arrived, I was told I could not collect them because they had not yet been signed off.
I politely explained that I had been notified they were ready. The response was that they were ready for collection, but still needed signing off, and I would have to wait 15 minutes. When I asked, “So I have to wait?”, the reply was, “If you want them, yes.”
Not once was an apology offered. There was no acknowledgement of the inconvenience, no courtesy and certainly no sense that customer service mattered.
What made the experience even more disappointing was witnessing the treatment of another customer. An elderly gentleman, walking with sticks and clearly struggling for breath, had made his way to the pharmacy only to be told that his prescription was not ready and that he would have to return in two hours.
He appeared unsure what to do. Given his obvious mobility difficulties, I could only imagine how exhausting it would be for him to make the journey home and then return again. Once again, there was no apology and very little apparent consideration for his circumstances.
I appreciate that pharmacies can be busy and that staff have pressures to deal with. However, basic courtesy, communication and compassion cost nothing. Could more have been done to help this gentleman, rather than simply sending him away to make the journey all over again?
After years of putting up with these issues, I have finally decided that enough is enough. I have moved to another pharmacy and only wish I had done so sooner.
My advice to anyone experiencing similar problems is to consider taking their prescriptions elsewhere. Customers deserve reliable service, reasonable communication and to be treated with basic respect. Unfortunately, in my experience, that is no longer what this pharmacy provides.

I was on holiday at St just from sheffield & I didn't have time to order my medication the usual way. I called in to day lewis & gave them my nhs no. They were really helpful & gave me my medication within 5 minutes of waiting. Thank you phoebe & Co. Lovely people!
not a good pharmacy
the woman inside told me the wrong information multiple times, didn't know any alternatives when one item wasn't available and was very dismissive. would never ever chose to go there again.
Prescription short
Just tried to ring and no answer (5.23pm). Collected a prescription for 7 x 5mg Diazepam. Got home and there are only 5 x5mg Diazepam in the box.

I would like to thank the lady serving customers at Day lewis pharmacy Colchester High street today . For her professionalism dealing with a very long queue. Calm, patient and total credit to the NHS service . Patient access is bieng updated so has been out all week meaning manual ordering of prescriptions. also a new system introduced to pharmacies . Total chaos meaning pouring through paper tokens of thousands of prescriptions . Total chaos . However this employee is a star and deserves a bunch of flowers exceptional person .
Highly recommend this pharmacy for good customer service, polite, friendly staff and swift prescription collections…
Day Lewis Pharmacy is so conveniently located near the Strawberry Hill Medical Centre in Newbury. The staff are all extremely polite and helpful. Particular shout outs to Hana the Pharmacist, Lucie, Sarah and Charmaine. The branch is clean and tidy and our extensive prescriptions are made up ready when I call in for them thanks to the text reminders. They have recently modified the interior so that there is a better waiting area with seating. The branch runs like a well oiled machine. There are no long queues and lots of happy, satisfied customers. Thank you all. Margaret Dillon
Overpriced over the counter medication!
I popped in as I was passing to purchase some over the counter medication, didn’t think to check the prices so when I paid I asked for the receipt. Imagine my surprise when the medication I could have bought from Boots for £30 was £41!!!! I know they are an independent but when you can purchase something for £7.50 from Boots and the exactly the same thing is £11.29 for Day Lewis it seems like you are being ripped off! I won’t go in there again ever.
Don’t give them your business. This pharmacist lacks professionalism, courtesy and respect
Im always suspicious of signs pushed in your face as soon as you enter an establishment that state they have zero tolerance to abusive customers, because its often the case that these establishments have experienced this behaviour from customers because of their rudeness and lack of respect towards their customers. Im really not surprised tyat they have experienced abusive behaviour if today’s experience is anything to go by. This pharmacist does not give a dam, does not care and has no compassion. I will not be visiting it again and I would suggest everyone else takes their business elsewhere because only then will businesses like this learn to respect their customers. Show us some respect and we will reciprocate!!
Poor customer service
Poor customer service. Imagine going to pick up a prescription and having rude staff not bothered to come to face you directly but shouting from behind the counter and asking for date of birth in a room full of people... Totally embarrassing. Have since moved pharmacy.
Tried to email them to report the service and got a generic response about repeat prescription. Never going there again.
Shelly Manor Pharamcy ......
Shelly Manor Pharamcy ....... Rag tag of staff - big turnover. Was lied to today after I went to pick up 3 prescriptions, was told they were out of all three. Being awkward and unaccomadating . Place is a shambles. been going there a long time. Sometimes doesnt open on time or not at all on weekends. Staff are generally rude or moody and leaking anger. . Found another pharmacy and it was refreshing to be treated Courteously and efficiently. Prescriptions were filled in 5 minutes.
A good first experience of Pharmacy First
My first time using Pharmacy First for a minor ailment and it was a very good experience. In and out, a thorough chat with the pharmacist, and everything sorted in half an hour. No need to bother the doctor or have a detailed chat with the receptionist. Highly recommended.
Ripon not helpful
for years my 90 year old father has had his medication in blister packs. He is elderly and confused, so the packs work well from a patient safety perspective - they ensure he takes the right pills at the right time
the pharmacy has decided they will no longer provide this, meaning he gets 8 different boxes and has to figure out what to take when
given his early onset dementia, what Day Lewis have done is dangerous - he risks not taking medication when needed.
Their action flies in the face of CQC medication management guidance
Above and beyond trying to give great customer care
I called many pharmacies today for a medication out of stock where I am in Yelverton - this pharmacy was so friendly and helpful. She even chose to phone me back to tell me which other similar medications were out of stock so I didn’t get another prescription that was out of stock locally - really helpful and a breath of fresh air after speaking to so many less helpful local pharmacies ⭐
