Flu jab with this pharmacy cancelled as I walked into pharmacy

Booked up a flu jab with this pharmacy, took time off work to attend. Turned up for my jab and 1 minute before my appointment they sent me a text to cancel the appointment. When I asked at the reception they told me the pharmacist they have working today was not trained to give jabs. No real apology but said I could rebook, however no reassurance that next time this would not happen again

Staff apathy

I booked an 11.30 Covid jab online. Got to Brixton branch on time & checked in. Almost immediately the pharmacist came out but ignored me & ushered into the consultation booth another person who'd been waiting. It was obviously not an emergency & it lasted 45 minutes. When I did finally get seen there was no apology or explanation. Perhaps this was incompetent double booking but as the Covid jab took less than 5 minutes I would thought it made more sense for me to be seen first. Last year I had to wait about 10 minutes. Next year I'll go elsewhere.

Worst experience ever

I put prescription in over a week ago. Picked it up told didn't have freestyle libre sensor2 plus and couldn't get them. Given a phone number for Abbots and told to ring and sort it out myself. Automated couldn't get through to anyone, rang surgery told them they gave me an open prescription. Got them from Tesco pharmacy no problem an hour before the one in my arm ran out. This is not the first time I was given blood pressure tablets instead of atorvistatin and then given warfarin from someone else's prescription. I have changed pharmacy.

Kapil could not have been more helpful

Kapil could not have been more helpful. We came to him for travel vaccinations and he did all the research needed not only to advise us accurately as to what was mandatory, optional etc for the countries we are about to visit but also to access all our NHS records. As to injections, the girls who are usually terrified with injections hardly felt them! It was a very smooth experience and I could not thank him enough. Definitely recommend.

I used to think they were good but…

I used to think they were good but their service has gone through the floor. I have been waiting for a prescription following cancer treatment. The supplier says it was delivered to Day Lewis on 11 October but 10 days later I have heard nothing from them and it is impossible to get through on the phone.

If I could give this Pharmacy zero stars I would

I have never experienced such rude and incompantant staff at PHARMACY...CHURCH ROAD PLYMSTOCK PLYMOUTH . My mother is on life supporting medication and we are constantly told that it is not in and will need to contact the surgery for following up on the prescription .On told times this has happened to only find that the staff have not looked up the prescription correctly and it is there at the pharmacy. There is never an apology. They all need retraining in customer service or leave the job and find something where they don't need to deal with members of the public.
This place has caused such stress that we have now moved pharmacy, and even though I have to drive further it is worth it, to be treated respectfully and given the correct medication.

Every time without exception

Every time without exception, I go in here to pick a prescription off. I’m told we’ve only just received it. ! I have a text from the surgery saying it was sent at 1325 yesterday. I stand waiting and ask the young man behind the counter. How long will this take? I’m answered by another employee. She’s just gone in a consultation. It’s probably gonna be about half an hour.. maybe nice if the young man had mentioned this, but maybe this is the norm

Communication is key….

Communication is key….

Went in for a prescription was told won’t be long, waited over an hour, staff were rude, reminded myself why I no longer use this pharmacy and won’t use it ever again.
At no point did they communicate how busy they was to anyone, or give an accurate wait time. Pharmacist was back and forth giving out medication, but was prioritising private flu and Covid jabs over getting medication to the crowd of people waiting.
A quick thought, it would be more beneficial to give a time for people to come back when the prescription will be ready so they can make an informed choice to whether they want to be in a packed pharmacy for over an hour with the risks of catching flu, Covid and god knows what else being in close proximity to so many people for so long.
Customer care is right out the window .

Pharmacist also nearly gave incorrect dose of medication, clearly not paying attention….
This was in Woodley branch

Bromley road, Downham, awful

Bromley road, Downham.

The worst customer service you will ever encounter.
Rude staff,
sarcastic remarks,
Promised delivered not upheld.
Never get a call answered
Ineptitude like I've never known
The service that my 85 year old mother has received has been shocking.

The staff here do not care about the customers/patients requiring a reliable service.
Absolutely awful.

Absolute incompetence saying they don’t…

Absolute incompetence saying they don’t have a prescription when they do, no customer service, causing undue stress to someone who already has chronic pain!
No care in the world this has happened several times with day Lewis staff at the counter, they need complete retraining or replacing with competent staff. Would rate a zero if I could!
This was at Pembroke pharmacy in Torquay.

The final straw

I live a few doors away from Day Lewis in Chandlers Ford. It is useful for collecting prescriptions although I have found you need to visit twice. You get it on the second visit. I have been in a couple of times recently asking about a flu jab, as there was a poster in their window. Each time I was told that the NHS booking system was offline. I then went home and easily booked an appointment, however Day Lewis was not on the list! Today my wife lost her voice and asked me to buy some Vitamin C tablets. So I went down, grandson in my arms and asked about this. I was a bit surprised at the price (£9.89) but given my situation I bought them. I walked home and presented them. My wife was shocked at the price (the equivalent is £1.85 at Waitrose) and asked me to return them. I attempted to do so, grandson in hand again. I was told that I cannot return "medicines" as it was against their "policy". So be warned, there is a high markup on their stock - and no returns. My "policy" is not to buy anything from them again.

Waste of time

(Mill Hill East branch)
I have a blocked inflamed ear. I read online that I could go to a pharmacy and see a pharmacist for a consultation as this would be more quicker than booking an appointment at the GP surgery. So I visited my local pharmacy which is a Day Lewis Pharmacy. It was quiet apart from someone waiting for their prescription and a person already seeing the pharmacist. I had to wait around 5 minutes before the staff member came to assist me as they were getting a prescription. Anyway, I explained if it was possible for the pharmacist to check my ear in case it was an ear infection. The staff member explained to me that they would not be able to give me antibiotics if I had an infection. I said I did not mind as I could request this to my GP through the e consult. After the person finished with the pharmacist the staff member told her about my request and then two minutes later the staff member came back to me and said the pharmacist would be unable to see me as they are booked for the day. How ridiculous is this? the chemist was empty, how long would it take for the pharmacist to look in my ear? instead the staff member said it would probably be quicker to get a GP appointment. I walked out, I defiantly will not be returning to this chemist again what a bloody joke.

Serious attitude problem

Had the misfortune to visit the Whipton ,Exeter branch on the 24th of September to hopefully collect a prescription that had been sent directly by my doctor on the 16th of September.
At first they couldn’t find my prescription but after I insisted I had seen my doctor send it, they eventually found it.my doctor had advised that I wait a few days to allow the pharmacy to get the product as it was in short supply.
The pharmacists assistant advised that they did not have the item available.
I asked if they could give me an indication as to how long it would take to obtain the item given I had already waited 8 days. I was told that they had no idea and so I prompted , could it be a week , 2 weeks a month?. I was told they had no idea whatsoever ever and when I asked what should I do, I was told “do what you like” . I was then given my prescription and told “you can try another chemist.
Customer service used to mean something but sadly lacking at this pharmacy, couldn’t give a s..t attitude quite frankly , some serious thought needs to be given to staff training in my opinion.

Used to be efficient

Used to be efficient, with prompt delivery of repeat prescriptions. Now, rarely answer the phone so you can't even order them. When you do eventually speak to a member of staff they are polite and seemingly helpful, but the scrips don't arrive for several days, by which time I've run out.

Parkstone Road, Hastings

This chemist is very slow in making up prescriptions. One young lady is very pleasant but the other one is definitely not. OK she cannot guarantee when a particular medicine will be in stock, but her attitude is awful. The customer is always wrong as far as she is concerned.

Has become really really slow at script turnaround

I moved my regular prescription here rather than local Boots as Boots was soooo slow and always blamed lack of availability (I know there wasn’t an issue). Usually the local Day Lewis turns scripts round in 48 hours. Gradually worsened over last 6 months. Plenty of staff. Recent script sent from GP 10am Wed. Went to pharmacy Monday late morning and not even put together let alone checked by pharmacist. Had to wait over 30 mins. Is this because there is no longer a ‘usual’ pharmacist as they keep changing or is it simply inefficient

Stoke Newington pharmacy

Not just this time, every time I attend the pharmacy I greeted warmly and treated like a human being. Staff, whoever is on duty are extremely helpful and attentive. In recent times due not being so well, the staff are never short of a warm smile and hello, and always deal with my medication prompt and swiftly.. They are all very professional too. Even though they now know who I am due to regularity, they always go through the channels of confirming my details, address, DOB etc..
The pharmacist Nicolina is very proficient in how she maintains high quality working standards and martialing the troops (staff) all done with her 24/7 positive attitude and smile. Always at hand to give out great tips and information and check on welfare.. If all pharmacies was like this, would not be so daunting to attend.
Great staff, great pharmacy,
Excellent Nicolina and all crew.. 👍🏾😃

I was on holiday in Hornsea when my medication was accidentally sent to my usual pharmacy back home. I was so worried, but Bobby at Day Lewis Hornsea was absolutely amazing. He phoned my pharmacy, arranged for the prescription to be returned, and got it all sorted for me straight away. Such a relief! Thank you so much, Bobby, for your kindness and brilliant service — you really went above and beyond.

Poor delivery on repeat prescriptions

I requested a repeat prescription from my GP 21.8.25 and it was approved 22.8.25 but was not available at Day Lewis until 1.9.25 only being processed 29.8.25. That is 11 days between approval and being available. No texts, not for months now. Huge queues at their local pharmacy, people anxious that items will be missing. People being asked to return the following day so that staff can try and find the order. Our local Day Lewis’ system changed a few months ago to being more ‘centralised’ in collation of prescriptions - well it hasn’t worked out well has it Day Lewis? It’s been a disaster. No stars in my review at all for you.
