I purchased the DCW620NT-XJ Router and it came with a 12mm and 8mm collet not the standard 1/2" and 1/4". This has now cost me £100 more to get the fittings. Dewalt stated each retailer sells... See more

Dewalt 5ah battery
I bought a 18V XR Brushless Hammer Drill Driver and a 5Ah battery in May 2022 with extended 3 year warranty. The battery cost almost as much as the drill at £65. I am a DIY'er so hardly used it but in August the battery just stopped charging for no reason. I contacted Dewalt (Black and Decker) who say batteries are only warranted for 1 year not 3 years and all they are prepared to do is send me the email address for the complaints department. Moral of story: if you are a DIY'er don't spend big money on Dewalt 5ah batteries buy cheaper 2ah batteries instead or buy a cheaper brand from the start!
Dewault copout for warranty
To register a tool for warranty is a crazy a list of requirements, in Portugal is not needed 3 years is I believe statutary, however to register using dewaults own system means answering more questions than a death certificate.
I OWN several thousands of$ dewault tools, think I will look at alternative brands in future
Detail Sander D26430 - Rubbish!
Detail Sander D26430 bought during Covid years. Major design fault: the 360 degree rotating base plate is the weakness - mine wore out very quickly (after a few hours of use) despite using correct grit paper. I tried using different speeds and different pressure (although a general rule of thumb is to apply light pressure and let the sander do the work). The retailer sent it back to Dewalt who replaced the base plate only for the same fault to occur - the base plate would spin around rendering the sander useless. I wonder if quality standards dropped off during Covid (i.e. cheaper materials etc). I returned it for a refund and bought an alternative (although less powerful) which was 1/10 of the price of the Dewalt. Interestingly I believe this sander has been discontinued, I wonder why?
My advice is if you see it online at a seemingly good price, don’t buy it because I suspect retailers are trying to sell off their stock.

DEWALT DCW604NT-XJ
I was gifted a DEWALT DCW604NT-XJ cordless router. It broke down after using it twice, it was returned to Screwfix and replaced but the replacement didn't work. Returning it again i was told I couldn't have another replacement as DeWalt would not accept it. Come on DeWalt improve your returns and quality control. I would still buy a DeWalt router but will have to wait and save the pennies
Reliable
I do note this is not a verified company as of yet due to it not being claimed, still credit is due to the company.
My reason for a perfect star rating is simple, I was gifted the DeWalt XR 2 x 1.5Ah Li-ion Cordless Combi drill & impact driver by my Grandad, the product was clearly already well used and I know my Grandad had it for at least a year.
I have almost had them for a year and never had any faults and they are super reliable especially for basic users for around the house DIY jobs.
I would highly recommend for those with basic DIY needs. The power of the impact driver is by far my favourite thing about the set.
I have many DeWalt tools & in my view…
I have many DeWalt tools & in my view they are outstanding Just bought a 18v Angle grinder & it is a beast for a battery powered tool No complaints from me but I have seen other reviews which are poor but I say to you guys just go back to where you bought it from & they should help you! DeWalt is definitely No 1 for me, but I do understand that some that have purchased may have issues like any other make on the market!
I'm done with dewalt warranty counts…

Terrible after sales service
Dewalt...Pole hedge trimmer...as a carpenter I have purchased many Dewalt 18v tools over the years and have never had any issues with them...as I own a few 18v batteries when looking for an electric pole hedge trimmer it made perfect sense to go for one of Dewalt's...I made the purchase last August and it was clear from the off that the trimmer was not working correctly, cutting out when I angled the cutting blade...thinking it was perhaps down to the age of the batteries I purchased a new one this spring but the problem persisted...so still being in warranty I contacted Dewalt and after exchanging a few emails, supplied them with the purchase invoice they required..confirmation of purchase or delivery notification was not good enough...anyway a few weeks back Dewalt confirmed that they would be arranging collection of the trimmer but since then having sent them a number of reminders, I have heard nothing...in the meantime I have purchased a McCulloch petrol hedge trimmer because believe it or not Dewalt this is the period of the year when hedges GROW!!...for a huge company like Dewalt who were one of the go to tool suppliers when I started my carpentry career, I am so disappointed by the their appalling after sales service ...
Useless warranty
Dog £%#* service. My diamond core drill stopped working within its registered warranty which expires in 2024. They won’t repair as I don’t have a purchase receipt. I have provided them with a copy of the order form from Travis Perkins and my bank statement which shows payment for the drill. They are refusing to repair.
DeWalt Reciprocating saw feedback....
DeWalt Reciprocating saw feedback....
Not saying its not a good tool for those that know how to use it but...
A note to myself and any other inexperienced tool users who think they can just pick up a tool they've never used and be a pro.. just nearly twisted my arm and wrist into next year cutting a tree stump, gave myself a friction blister, strongly advise that us amateurs do not use this saw..
Stump is still a stump!, and my arm feels like its having a seizure inside and now feels double jointed.. its a NO from me.. il take my axe any day... returning tool in two pieces.
DeWalt has now given me tool ptsd and i no longer want to buy one!
Had some amazing tools at cheap prices…
Had some amazing tools at cheap prices but why oh why are your batteries so expensive and WHYYYY do they break. Bring the price of batteries down for goodness sake 🙄
Power pruner - Parts fell off tool on first use
Having read a number of other reviews about Dewalt customer support, I find myself adding one more to the list.
I own several tools in Dewalt's 18-volt system, and last week added the power pruner (DCMPP568) to the collection. It failed after cutting a few branches, the bolt attaching the cutting blade to the body coming loose, resulting in the blade, bolt and nut being lost in dense undergrowth. It was bought from PowertoolMate, but this was clearly a factory/quality control issue. To be clear, the user does NOT need to touch the blade housing assembly unless for maintenance or blade replacement, which certainly didn't apply in this case. The tool obviously left the factory without the nut being checked and tightened to the appropriate specification.
These things happen, and perhaps I was just unlucky (the other tools in the system have proved decent enough - at least for a DIYer like me). BUT after reporting the problem, I expected swift action to rectify it - ie, to send me the 3 replacement parts that I could fix the way the original ones should have been attached. All I've had is a bland, generic email acknowledging receipt of my complaint, and nothing when I pressed them in a follow-up message to sort the matter out.
By the standards of a company of this size, it should have taken a junior member of staff a couple of minutes to source the parts and get them dispatched. But no, the wait goes on, and as is all too usual, I'm left wondering if Dewalt is one of those companies far more interested in customers pre-purchase than in meeting after-sales commitments. Disappointed and annoyed.
TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 - DS400 - Deformed lid - not sealing
DS400 from Amazon, deformed lid, does not seal as described (IP65). Took images and video, lid deformed by 2.5 mm. Informed DeWalt, fobbed off. Contacted DeWalt by telephone. 2nd new box from Screwfix, also deformed lid. Images and video to DeWalt - apparently this is an allegation! So, return box to Screwfix, 3rd box, identical deformed lid. Is it I have the only 3 defective boxes in the world and DeWalt did not know, or all DeWalt boxes have deformed lids and do not meet IP 65 as the lids don't fit the boxes. I asked DeWalt to supply me with a box without a deformed lid and I am still waiting! In summary, defective product and DeWalt UK seem unable to supply me a box which does not have a deformed lid. This was not an issue with the original ToughSystem boxes which I have a dozen of.
DeWalt Has the Worst customer Support.
Customer service is the worst i have ever come across, over the years i have purchased DeWalt Radios for my work three in total, all three have either stopped working one will not tune in, one has constant volume cannot adjust it another shuts itself off then stops.
My question how many DeWalt customers have purchased DeWalt Radios only to find they do not last ?
I contacted DeWalt Customer service they just answer your request has been passed on, same reply for the last three months awful Customer service why should i buy another DeWalt Radio ???
horrible experience with my dewalt…
horrible experience with my dewalt impact gun!! always fails on me when need it the most!! service agents aren’t helpfull!! will not buy dewalt again!!
my 54v battery didn't charge
my 54v battery didn't charge , so I contracted DeWalt . in my eyes I thought they would just replace old with new without much issue as I could have been a tradesman relying on it , but I've had to send my old battery back for a repair and wait for nearly two weeks from start to finish . not any issue with the return thou and looking at some of the comments , I say now , I had a good experience with DeWalt .
Bafflingly bad pre-sales support
Asked a couple of questions about product features because the website wasn't clear. Received back a link to the information that I'd explained was confusing.
Tried again. Received different information, but which still didn't address my questions.
Tried again, fully explaining what it was that I wanted to know (again). This was referred to the product team. The product team responded with a single line which.. didn't answer the questions.
Tried again, asking if they could please answer the questions I'd asked. Was more or less told that what I'd had so far was all I was getting.
At this point I had to give up otherwise the garden would have been overgrown before I'd resolved whether a DeWalt product would be able to help with it.
(Ok I do appreciate that not every company's customer support team have all product information at their fingertips - they may only have access to exactly the same that I do on the web - but come on guys.. if the product team can't answer questions about their product, who can?)
Batteries are no good actually how many…
Batteries are no good actually how many break now and don't charge also have had hedge trimmers and strimmers motor either burning out overrunning terrible customer service have so many tools in dealt which require batteries have to keep replacing
Terrible Reliability. Poor Customer Service.
I purchased a DCD776C1-GB drill for very occasional use around the house. At just over 12-months the drill died with smoke coming from the back of it whilst drilling a 6mm hole in a piece of wood. The drill was only used a handful of times. I contacted Dewalt customer services with photos of my receipt and of the drill (basically in brand new condition) but was told tough luck. £85 down the drain.
