We ordered and paid the deposit, it was a quick process with all the additional options explained.

Nothing about my visit today was anything other than excellent, i was greeted almost immediately by a member of staff who dealt with my requirements. I entered intending to browse and find the perfect sofa for me but i didn't expect to walk out with a smile after spending a fair amount. Great service, easy to do business with and professional.

I recently bought a sofa from DFS Taunton and had a brilliant experience with Kyle. He was really helpful from start to finish, explained everything clearly, and made sure we understood all the options without any pressure.

What stood out most was how easy he was to get along with — we had a really good laugh while choosing the Freya sofas, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable rather than like a typical sales visit.

Kyle knew his stuff, gave honest advice, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Definitely a 5-star service, and I’d recommend asking for him if you’re going into the store.

Excellent service

My experience with DFS has been absolutely appalling from start to finish.

The sofa delivered was completely wrong — the colours were not what I selected at all, and it feels like I was given a random product rather than what I paid for. I specifically paid extra for a slider/fitted design, yet what arrived is not what was ordered or promised.

To make matters worse, the quality is shockingly poor. One of the cushions has completely collapsed and is sagging with no support whatsoever. This is not normal wear and tear — it arrived in a defective condition and is already uncomfortable and unusable.

The customer service has been just as bad, if not worse. Promises are made and then ignored. I was told multiple times that someone would call me back, and no one ever did. There has been no accountability, no urgency, and no real attempt to fix the situation.

I have spent the last 6 months stuck with an incorrect, poor-quality sofa and a company that seems completely unwilling to resolve the issue properly. For a brand of this size, the level of service and product quality is unacceptable.

I would strongly warn others to think twice before purchasing, as my experience has been stressful, frustrating, and deeply disappointing from beginning to end.

Great service from Lawrence. No pressure sale, good advice and got on with the sale with ease. Asked about lifestyle and purpose etc so he was keen to get the best deal which I got today

We made 3 trips to Taunton DFS initially to get an idea on choices for a sofa.
We had the lovely Neil assist us throughout in choosing one for a small new living room. As the dimensions and orientation for it were so specific, with Neil’s help we finally decided on the French Connection Carlisle 2 seater.
Neil was a pleasure to deal with, his relaxed and friendly approach made us feel comfortable while we were left to try the various pieces and asked us pertinent questions that helped direct us to our final decision.
Whilst the new small living room is being finished, we are looking forward to completing the space when the Carlisle arrives in 5 weeks.
As retail outlets are under threat with a growing online presence, DFS has a good balance, especially when buying a large purchase item, making the decision so much easier to see, feel and try the pieces in store. The main reason why we chose DFS as other suppliers no longer have an in store option.
