Booked online for albania to italy, very easy to pick up ticket. Booked flex ticket before that was easy to cancel. Actual ferry was appalling but don't think that was direct ferries fault lol

Don’t use this app to buy a round trip ticket do 2 one way instead
Don’t ever buy a round trip ticket on a ferry in this app. Because if you try to cancel the return the app will tell you you can not because the trip is already underway, even if you are more than 2 hours ahead of the boarding time. I tried from the night before. I got no timely response to my query, they ignored the details I provided, and these were 3 expensive ferry tickets purchased with “cancellation protection” which obviously is a waste of money.
DFP191144077 I have talked to customer support more than once but they never seem to understand what I was saying. I am happy to direct ferries has noticed this review so fingers crossed!
Updated December 2: I was promised a response by the end of November but did not receive one. Reading through all the reviews for this app I see many people have the exact same complaint as mine. I would say other people’s advice to buy directly from the ferry companies is Good and I will not be using this app again

However, the cancellation product added to your booking can only be used up 2 hours prior departure, it allows you cancelling the entire reservation not per leg as per terms and conditions, it was shown when adding this product.

The check-in process was a terrible experience. The service provided by the two Turkish women at the counter was shockingly bad — they had the worst attitude I've ever encountered. While the ferry itself was on time and ran as scheduled, there was nothing special about the ship or the trip overall. Honestly, it wasn’t worth the effort to travel from Kos to Turkey.

I was not able to access my ticket from…
I was not able to access my ticket from the App? I tried ALL forms to access it, none worked. Liberty staff needed to locate my surname from their tablet for validation of my booking. Very disappointing!!

Suggest not using Direct Ferries. Didn’t make it clear that part of the journey was by bus and we paid for Club Class tickets but they printed us Euro Class tickets. Avoid.

Good but…
The booking was with the wrong email (tickets were booked giving the email of the ferry company), so we could not use the on-line check in option and we have to pay to issue the physical tickets.

The delay is more then one hour
The delay is more then one hour. My departure should be at 14o’clock to be at 16 at Tarifa, but we left Tanger just at 15.30 thats a problem for those who has other plans.

Unfortunately, delays and cancellations can occur due to the nature of sea travel. Typically, these changes are a result of sea conditions; while the outside weather may seem fine, decisions are made with passenger safety in mind. Please note that compensation claims for delays caused by sea conditions are generally not applicable, as they fall under "extraordinary circumstances." However, the ferry company should provide you with the option of a full refund or re-routing to your final destination. If you have not received this option, please let us know.
We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and hope you understand that such delays and cancellations are beyond our control.

DirectFerries were no help when things…
DirectFerries were no help when things went wrong. A mistake was made in the booking and they claimed to fix it for free in the first 24 hours. They took long to reply and then gave an open ended asnswer which took long to reply to. They then offered me a solution which cost double the original ferry price (because prices went up double in 24 hours....) and didnt offer a locked price solution.
Even days after trying to get help I've hit wall after wall.
Because of this I've found myself having to drive the route since they have taken so long to solve this option.
