Booked online for albania to italy, very easy to pick up ticket. Booked flex ticket before that was easy to cancel. Actual ferry was appalling but don't think that was direct ferries fault lol

My parents bought PO Ferries return…
My parents bought PO Ferries return tickets from Calais to Dover through Direct Ferries.
When they tried to check in and enter their passport details, they got an error message saying the booking did not exist.
The customer care was non existent and did not help at all to solve the issue despite its urgency, so they now risk losing their tickets (they were supposed to take the 13.40 ferry on August 16th) and had to buy another ticket for the eurotunnel to be sure to get to Dover tomorrow.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. We bought a flexible ticket to be able to adjust our return. It was impossible to rebook on line. Asked the chatbot to help us (the only alternative contact) that was four days ago. Got an email two days later asking for some details. Then nothing.
Our vacation is messed up. Direct ferries. Never again.

They are extremely difficult to contact and have obviously done the absolute utmost to not have to deal directly with a client.
I note they gave replied. The chat is an 'AI bot', not a person. There is no option to call, as they say in their reply they will 'give you a call' if they believe it the best way forwards.

Very bad experience with website and customer support.
I have made a reservation to wrong dates.
After I asked for amendment of tickets on the web page and paid for it (received confirmation to email that work is in progress). No changes were made in a week.
After I have contacted support to ask about the result of amendment or change reservation to new dates. I have received email from support with booking confirmation for the new dates.
With no issues with payment or additional charges.
But no tickets. I was checked spam folders till the very last day. After contacting the second and third time with customer support and providing all emails and documents.
I have been told that it is all my fault for not paying for amendment of tickets on web site and no refund is going to happen. I was trying to change tickets second time and have been told by the customer support that it all OK.
Website work and castomer support need to be improved. But seems like it will cost me 75 euro and lost day in vacation.
UPD: The company’s answer to my review is absolute essence of issues with website and customer support I had described. I can’t find the payment confirmation for amendment on my account. Nowadays, when you receive a confirmation by email from company what payment was made you presume it does, especially no one is checking 12 Euro sums on account.
Second, they mentioned that I have been told about additional payment I need to do for amendment by manager. It’s not true. They send me automatic email with strange payment of 24 euro for amendment of 70 Euro tickets which felt to spam and I didn't see it. But when I tried to reach castomer support no one told me that I still need to pay anything or my payment was not successful.
Conclusion: Stay away from Directferries, it will save your time, money and brain cells.

BE AWARE! They have terrible customer service. You can’t reach the company by phone and customer service doesn’t respond back with a response but only automated responses. They charge your credit card, though they state that your card won’t be charged until your booking is secured. I have more than $525 that were indeed charged and the company hasn’t reversed the charges. They book unavailable bookings, leaving more than 12 people scrambling to find an alternative booking. I wish I would’ve read their reviews, especially their Yelp reviews prior to booking and recommending their company to our party of friends and family. 👎🏼 Also, save yourself some grief and deal directly with the boat company itself, because it’s less expensive to book directly with the boat company than Direct Ferries.

I have received no confirmation email or any tickets after purchasing my upcoming trip, and I am very concerned. I'd like to receive my tickets otherwise I will be disputing the charge and filing a complaint.

The booking works... but
The booking works, but there are a couple of issues. With ferries that don't need pet declaration, they ask for it and you can just enter 1 dog (not 2 or more...). The ticket that they claim will arrive with a separate e-mail did never come and each time I hat do contact the customer service

Cancelled my booking 20 mins before check in!
Direct Ferries took my booking on Tues night for a ferry on Wednesday, and emailed to advise there was a delay and they would send confirmation ‘shortly’. By the morning, still no confirmation. There’s no phone number to call, so had to use online chat. I started the chat at 0820. At 1040, 20 minutes before check in closed, they told me I had to send a photo of my passport because there was a security issue, and then cancel and re-book my ferry. At an £80 premium to the original fare!
Feels like an out and out scam to con me out of extra money. Booking cancelled, and Eurotunnel now booked for tomorrow. Thankfully we are in a van and can wait out the extra day, but many would simply have had to pay extra. Disgraceful sharp practice.

This company rips people off
This company rips people off. I was misled by the lead in price. I placed 3 pets in my requirement section and a 10.20am departure time. When I received the confirmation, Direct Ferries had booked 08.30am and no pets. When I brought to their attention, they did not advise that they would charge an admin fee to correct their own mistake of incorrect time and omitting my requirement of 3 dogs. There is no telephone number to speak to anyone, but instead just a chat facility. On this chat, they sent me a link which automatically charged me without a breakdown of what amount the charges were or what they applied to. Numerous emails later they will not accept their mistake and are blaming Irish Ferries. I will never book with them again, and strongly advise others to book direct with the individual ferry companies.
