Downlights Direct Reviews 

A company should be judged by by how well it resolves problems. I had an issue with a downlight that failed within its guarantee period. Phoned downlights direct who sent a replacement within a couple of days, no silly questions, no request for faulty product to be returned just simple straightforward great customer service. Just a shame more companies aren't this good.

I chose Downlights Direct because I had previously used them and been happy with the bulbs I received.

Delivery is speedy but not the cheapest. It's better to buy more than one or two bulbs at a time as the flat delivery fee of around £5 makes this more economical.

The bulb quality I use (Aurora Ice) are excellent and typically last for a few years. I have some that are still going strong after 8 years!

I’ve been a pain in the ass with the requirements of what I wanted with my led strip light order and they have gone double over and beyond making sure everything has been perfect. From quick responses, to quick order delivery I can’t praise them highly enough. Very knowledgable and patient staff and the standard of products they delivered is top drawer. Had one issue with the light, and when I messaged them to sort it out they did without any quibble or argument. I can’t praise them highly enough and will defo be using them again for my lighting projects

Excellent range and quality of products. Bought lights and sockets and switches for a kitchen extension and dining renovation, and downlight directs had everything I needed. I was sent the wrong item for one of the dimmer switches, which they kindly replaced for free and told me to keep the existing one. Really happy with the items I bought and will use again for future purchases.

Was browsing on their website for an Malmbergs LED driver to replace one that had failed in a 3-downlight kit purchased a couple of years ago. Couldn't find the exact replacement. Received email from Downlights Direct next morning offering help, so explained situation: they said they had a suitable replacement on their shelves and they would send it free of charge. All now working fine.

This Company go above and beyond the call when it comes to service. A slight hiccup turned into a bit of an issue but they handled it professionally and without a quibble! I recommend them unreservedly and will use them again without concern - well done and thank you Oliver👏

Products exactly as described, super fast shipping, DPD managed to lose one of the parcels but support sorted it immediately.

Replied within a day for all my queries. Replacement of 2 faulty products was made within 1-2 days.

Liked the website, easy to look at options and make choices. Delivery chargeable but next day is great. After sales service dealing with queries was good. I would certainly recommend Downlights Direct.

I purchased 6 lights from Downlights Direct. They were as descibed, bright, and used quality components. Unfortunately, 1 of the lights failed after 3 months. I contacted their support via the website and a new lamp was dispatched without any hesitation! Now this is customer service! Thank you for handling my call, Oliver! : )

I used DownLights Direct to order some LED lighting strips, drivers and connectors for a new kitchen install after having issues with products from another company.

I thought the Down Light Direct products looked really good quality from the description and pictures on the website and found the supporting information, such as which drivers can power the various LED type/lengths etc, incredibly useful.

All items came really quick as they were all in stock at the time of ordering. I can see other reviews where people are waiting for stock but I feel the website is quite clear on wait times.

I installed all the items as planned and they all work incredibly well. Overall I was pleased.

A few months later I decided to slightly extend my run of LED's but was struggling to figure out how to do it. I contacted customer support and found Lewis very informative and accommodating and he (unforntately for him!) sent me loads of emails back on forth explaining things to me which was hugely appreciated. Ended up with a slightly custom order which Lewis pulled together for me, I'm not sure I'd have figured it all out on my own being a DIY'er and not a pro.

I saw other reviews saying slow replies to customer service, I was generally getting replies in 12 hours which seems fair and suited me. As mentioned, the help I did get from customer service was excellent.

I appreciated the service so much I started hunting around for other areas I can install LED's :D

I don't generally leave reviews but positive experience with DLD left me wanting to give something back for their efforts.

Overall I would recommend and definitely use again, thanks!

Avoid this company!
Still waiting for my order to be delivered, website and email says 1-2 working days delivery. It’s now been 8 days and still nothing! Sent multiple emails…. No reply.

If time is of the essence, make sure you call them to check stock before ordering. I ordered two parts which appeared to be in stock but turned out not to be after I chased up a week later. The chap who took the call was very helpful and sorted out an alternative, but slightly miffed that they weren't more proactive in notifying me as we're working to a deadline and lost 5 days.

I understand delivery delays, it happens. However that's not the issue. Initially out of an order of 3 stock items one was out of stock, the main part of the order (10 units). I wait 2 weeks for those to come back in stock meanwhile the other items go out of stock with a delay of a further 2 months. Downlights Direct refuse to part ship those items that are now in stock! This is a vicious circle. Meanwhile I'm left high and dry mid way through a job.

Followed up late delivery to find they had missed my order out of processing. I got a lame apology and no offer to expedite on an overnight courier which means not here for the weekend.

Great product range and price on offer, but most importantly great aftercare service. Quick to respond, and honour warranties without any quibbles. Would recommend and definitely use myself again.

Having looked at various websites for LED light strips (RGB & WW) I found downlights direct. They provided excellent support to scope out the various items - supplying all within a couple of weeks (delivery times were not unreasonable if not necessarily in a rush) and at a reasonable cost. When one strip was found to have a slight issue when in use for white lights, they provided advice but then ultimately offered to replace the section free of charge. I cannot fault the sales and after-sales service, hence the 5 stars.

Recently purchased a couple of down lights for installation above a shower. Unfortunately one of the spring clips on one of the down lights snapped prior to fitting, which meant it wouldn’t have seated correctly. I contacted customer services and a replacement down light was quickly provided to replace the faulty unit. Excellent customer service and despite the first unit having a slight fault I feel the products supplied to me were good value and good quality. Wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again.

Have made numerous orders to downlightsdirect. All delivered very quickly when in stock or with the clearly advised delay if back-ordered. Once an item was a bit late and I was kept well informed.

Needed an under cabinet LED solution to work on a dimmer but wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for.

The Sales Team (Edward) was very helpful in advising the exact solution needed and listed what to order.

The kit all arrived and is installed and working perfectly. Items were all quality, with silent operation of the LED drivers (no buzzing) that dim the strips perfectly.

Really happy and would use again.
