Was told CV was sent to employer, turns out Harriet had gone on holiday and not sent it. So it got sent over a week later by someone else only after i checked.

Of course they were a week ahead in their process by that point and i missed out.

Also, i was told they would censor my CV, taking out the name of the previous employers. Which when it's private households for individuals takes away any advantage you have from working for well known/respected names. Makes no sense.

Specialist Housekeeping Training Course

Specialist Housekeeping Training Course

Please read this carefully if you are considering the above course with EHS/EBS. The majority of training course reviews relate to The Butler School.

I have some suitable experience but wished to enhance knowledge & skills and so after some research, chose EHS/EBS as it is adveritsed as a 3 day intensive course 9-6 with the incentive of being added to their register and for the training to take place in a suitable training environment.

My Experience:
It is extremely yacht focussed as the trainers background is primarily super yachts. None of the group wished to work on a yacht and she knew this. She was a lovely trainer(freelance, not EHS/EBS employee) but wrong course and audience.
It is not intensive
It is not 9-6 or 8 hours, it is 9-4/430/45 with at least 1 hour 15mins in breaks.
It takes place in an airbnb which is not of a great standard as had issues, also the trainer was staying there, so, effectively, you were changing her bed whilst doing that module. Wholly unacceptable.
EBS did not have their own linen/towels etc so were using the airbnbs which were of poor quality and not the correct sizes
Bathroom didnt have shelves so a participant put their hands out so trainer could demonstrate towel placements.
Clothing is from charity shops as advised by trainer and there was not enough clothing.
One of the irons didnt work properly.
Some modules rushed.
Refused PDF for course, only some handouts were given, illogical, why not give all.
Absolutely no information about what being on their register/books means.

Therefore I feel that the course is an expensive, falsely advertised and misleading taster to lure people in for extra income as it is very difficult to come from no experience, do a 3 day course (none of the other participants had direct experience) and get a job in a private estate/residence & John & his team know this as clients pay a finders fee.

I expressed my views in an attempt to seek recompense and have my views constructivelty listened to and have the course improved by emailing John Pettman (MD) whom said he would get back to me personally in due course but I had to chase him up after 1 working week hen he responded advising his team were overseas which he knew when he orignally emailed. After some more days, Megan, the training coordinator replied (whom has no private residence background) & clearly had not read my email properly & on behalf of John offered a 10% goodwill gesture refund.

I emailed John to refuse said good will gesture as insulting and to ask why he didnt have the professionalism to respond himself as he stated he would on 2 seperate occassions and to offer serious compensation for the participants who attended a course that was not as advertised.

I also asked for him to advise how this course could be improved as surely this is what it is all about?!

He wished to have a telephone conversation but I refused & requested an email responseas the conversation would have went around in circles, which he clearly didnt like as has effectively not responded some working days later.

This is his proragitive but it simply shows the level of care and respect he has for the course and the participants, all that he had to do was respond to my email in a timely fashion with his views and thoughts and would have been resolved easily and simply.

However, he is unable to do this thus I have absolutely no respect for such an organisation, which is supposed to provide an exclusive service in terms of communcation, details etc. I attended the course on 17/18/19th April.

I urge you not to attend this course unles you have experience and even then, I would seriously consider its value.
