Cancelled my order after unacceptable revised delivery date - Extak still have my money.

I placed an order with Extak as they had the best price. Their quoted delivery was a few days longer as I believe goods are not shipped from within the UK. From the start, communication was abysmal. No order confirmation, unable to track order status online, virtually impossible to speak to customer services, emails ignored. My phone record shows I have tried to call Extak 19 times - most of the time I got placed in a queue for 20-30 minutes, then transferred to voice-mail which was full & would just cut me off. When I finally did speak to someone & establish my order was on the system, I discovered delivery was much longer than previously stated. I chose to cancel my order using the online form but Extak still took the money from my bank account the following day. I called them again & had to cancel the order again over the phone. I was told refunds took 7-10 working days. I called again a couple of days ago to enquire as to the whereabouts of my refund & was rather confusingly told that a 'system error' had resulted in my order being cancelled & that an automatic refund was issued within 1-3 working days of cancellation. Apparently I should already have received my refund by now but was to wait another 24 hours. Needless to say, no refund & now I am raising a charge back with my bank. Extak are to be avoided like the plague. There are far more professional, reputable companies out there. There is no need to risk losing your money - or sanity - dealing with companies like Extak.

Extak proudly display the "SafeBuy" logo on their website and clicking on the link, to my astonishment, confirms they are still an accredited member. SafeBuy promises a "hassle-free online shopping experience" if you buy from one of their members. Can I suggest anybody with a complaint against Extak contacts SafeBuy on their free mediation service mediate@safebuy.org.uk which they offer to customers who have purchased from one of their accredited members.

EDIT: The 'SafeBuy' logo is now gone from Extak's website. I hope, in some small way, I was responsible for that.

EDIT 2: Refunded by bank 4 weeks later after I raised Charge Back.

Probably a scam company... Beware

Slightly concerned - a company that doesn't dispatch goods paid for and has a full voicemail so messages can't be left. Hoping they're just an appalling business and not actually criminal...

Avoid avoid avoid!

The worst company I have ever dealt with. A month and a half and no tv and no refund despite repeated requests. This company has twice gone bankrupt and relaunched leaving 100's of people out of pocket, no doubt the same will happen again. Avoid like the plague.

Ordered a gift for our son, but it failed to arrive. Emailed and no response, called and kept being cut off with a message saying their voicemail is unavailable! I would avoid this site,

AVOID.....

Bad reviews, couldn't get anyone on the phone although I was 1st in the que. I got quick reply by email. That doesn't help me when my money is in limbo!! I'm hoping & praying that I will get my £135 back! This company doesn't deserve any star rating!

Avoid! Completely useless with no intention on delivering

I ordered a tripod, item was marked as dispatched, UPS 3-5 however there was no tracking number. Delivery day came and went and nothing. I then noticed that the order had been marked has refunded. Upon checking my bank this was definitely not the case.

Having contacting them asking why I wasn't getting my item and where my refund was I was just told it would take 1-3 days to clear. No mention as to why I wasn't receiving my item which had already been marked as dispatched.

Asked again for an explanation, apparantly it was a technical error. You think they would have contacted me.

It has now been 6 days since the refund was apparantly issued and it still hasn't been received.

Do not use! Save your money, spend a little bit more else where.

Let Down

Placed an order for an Epson scanner, was kept waiting for two weeks whilst being told the item was being sent from abroad, then at last told they could not fill the order and money returned. Therefore had to search for another seller having lost two weeks when I needed the scanner. Their email said:-

"Due to a technical fault on our system we were unable to process your order which was affected by this fault. Due to this we have automatically refunded your account to save you any further delay or inconvenience."

Rubbish

Ordered a camera ,was given a date that it was to be delivered on ,the date came and went,still no camera .tried to phone .never answered even though i was told i was second in the queue.sent e-mail only to be told that it was no longer available due to issues with the manufacturer,why didn't they see fit to let me know ,are we supposed to follow up everything ourselves ,why they hold onto our money without letting us know anything.AVOID.

DO NOT USE GOODS NEVER ARRIVED STILL WAITING FOR REFUND

We ordered 3 ASUS memos for our children's Christmas presents, delivery date of Friday 11th passed and I phoned them in 15th after not being able to log on to check my order status (I definitely used the correct log on details). I was told they had technical problems and they cancelled my order last week and have sent a refund to my credit card - refund still not received and no email to inform me of this. Apparently. Can re order but need to repay! No chance. Waste of time,

Review my review

I left a review last night for Extak as my hard drive that should have been delivered had not arrived. I did on contacting Extak a couple of days before receive an email claiming it had been dispatched but this did not include a consignment number to confirm it, so after it did not arrive I left a negative for them, I also emailed them about the non delivery last nght and today I received two emails one with the consignment number and one showing where it had been tracked too, and this afternoon I received my hard drive. I have reviewed my feedback as apart from the delivery being slow I cannot fault the customer service dept, I might be a loan voice with this and will not be buying from them until the reviews start to get a lot better, but it maybe shows there is a bit of hope for everyone who is still waiting for their goods.

Will never use again...

Building a new gaming PC - ordered various parts from 6 different suppliers. Everything from every other supplier arrived within 3-4 days. 8 days later the order from Extak is still to be shipped, let alone received by myself...my status is 'stock assigned' even though there are apparantly '10+ items in stock' for both things that I ordered.

Oh, and they also ignored 2 'contact us' requests from me asking what the hold up was.

I held off writing this review, in fairness, to see if they'd reply to me, but they didn't.

Awful, beware - will never use again!

Will never use them again - AVOID

Ordered item on 2 October, has never changed from "order accepted" status. Now passed delivery window and no communication from the company. Emailed them but no reply after 3 days. Item is still listed as in stock saying
"Hurry! Only a few left...
Order within 5 hours for an estimated delivery of Friday 18th*
Glad I paid with credit card and have a degree of protection because I have no confidence in this company delivering the item.
