Consistently an honest, trusted, flexible friendly service
Have used the company 5 times and each time they deliver what they promise plus more including this time taking us to the airport before their own bus was due to leave.We never feel anxious using this company as we have had some very poor experiences in the past with other companies. This company has a fair cost, good insurance, flexibility, and has always given us immediately back our bond payment. No wonder they have won so many awards whilst they also manage to donate to several charities.

Was very impressed with the service, Anne on reception helped every step of the way whilst organising my car rental and I found it to be such good value for a 2 week car hire compared to other hire cars.

We had a great experience with family car rentals. I called and booked one and could pick it up on the same day!! Annie even had it ready for me earlier than promised. They even picked us up from our apartment in which made collection very easy. We are just about to get on the transfer bus to get to the airport to start our journey home! Thanks for an enjoyable experience :)

Very happy with the service. The driver's to and from the airport were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The owner and Annie in the office were lovely and made our holiday a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend Family car rentals. Will definitely use them again on our next trip to the GC.

Worst service I have ever experienced.
Booked what was supposed to be the cheapest car online (yes chose 2 as advised by the site) and received an email the next day telling me both cars not available. Offered me a cheaper car (yes they had a cheaper car) as if I had a choice!, I needed a car the next day at 8am.
Long story short, both staff members argued with me about; had I really made a booking, that they hadn't received my response to their email etc etc So picked up the car, wasn't expecting much in quality but squeaky brakes? Yeah Nah.
Another blooming issue returning it because how dare I not know that I had to return it full (mind you the needle is just below the F.) Another conversation with raised voices. Hmm, am I the customer?
No I won't be using this service again, at the very least I expect a smile from someone who is taking my money.

This lady made an online booking request after our closing hours on 6th November for the collection of a car from our office at the start of our business day (8am) on 8th November, returning it to our office at 4:30 pm on the same day. As is the case with all online bookings, they are subject to confirmation. In our case, this is a manual operation.
We responded at 9:20 am on 7th November to say that the two vehicles nominated by her were already booked by others and we offered her an alternative vehicle at a lower cost and asked her to confirm that it would be OK.
We did not receive any communication from her during our working hours on 7th November, so we did not proceed any further with the matter.
As soon as we opened on 8th, she came into our office and said that she was here to collect a car. Our office staff knew nothing about the matter and thought that she came in to enquire about a car. After some confusion, we sorted the matter out, finding a "yes that's OK" reply from her sent after our closing time on 7th. Yes, we were able to give her a car cheaper than the ones she selected online, but I fail to see how that becomes a cause for criticism.
Later in the day, she called to say that due to heavy traffic, she might be 10 minutes late returning the car and we told her that was OK and we thanked her for giving us some notice.
She arrived at about 5 minutes to 5pm and we discovered that she had not replaced the fuel that she used. She offered to give us money and I said that we would fill the car up the next morning and deduct the cost from her Security Bond electronic refund. She again wanted to give us money and I said that I didn't know how much fuel would be needed and I didn't want to over or undercharge her on the matter.
The next morning, we refuelled the car and deducted the $10.00 cost from her Security Bond refund - we applied no service fee for us performing the refuelling process.
One of our staff drove the car to the petrol station and back and another drove to do some messages and they have both reported that the brakes were not "squeaky".
How that translates to the "worst service" she has ever experienced is beyond me.

Pay the extra money and go with one of the major car rental companies.
Rented a car for 5 days for our family holiday on the Gold Coast. Pick up from the airport was on-time and driver was friendly.
We booked a 2008 Mitsubishi Magna with 2 booster seats and a child seat. Expected the car not to be in perfect condition due to its age however this car had more hits Elvis and damage which was being held together by duct tape. On top of that the passenger side window didn't open and the air-bag light was on the whole time.
Inside the car was relatively clean however the child seats were putrid.
On returning the car I advised the owner (Darryl) that the front passenger side window didn't work which was not really convenient. Darryl proceeded to berate me for not telling them sooner rather reflecting on the fact that he or his staff should have ensured that everything was in working order prior to the care being rented out. Darryl was unable to let the matter rest and I had to ask him on several occasions to stop talking to me about the issue but he insisted on somehow making it my fault??? (I think he may have been a little confused as to who was actually the customer by this stage).
Looking at the other poor reviews their seems to be a common theme. Give you a hint, it starts with D and ends in Y. As with the other poor reviews, I am positive this will be followed by a lengthy response by Darryl. If only he put the same time and effort into his customer service and considering the feedback provided by customers.
You have been warned!

It's true that we let the Santucci family down by providing them with a vehicle which was at a presentation standard far less than the standard that we strive for. We owe them an apology and we offer it here. I have removed the vehicle from our fleet and have sold it.
Mr Santucci has chosen to suggest that I will make a "lengthy response". I will simply say that I told him that had he informed us of his displeasure with the vehicle during the course of his rental, instead of at the end, we would have replaced the car with another one! Whether that constitutes "berating him" may be open to interpretation, it was certainly not meant in that manner.
The one thing that I will not let pass without contradiction is his comment that the "child seats were putrid." They were definitely not!

We were so pleased with this business, they very affordable the car was clean and mechanically great. The owners were so helpful came and picked us up and returned us to the airport. We never write reviews so this is a big recommendation.
